Didn't finish, but at least now I know where the darn head is...

I mean I'm on the one with Stormwind - the Eastern Kingdom, but aren't some of you on the Western?

Misslilo I saw that you were in the Deadmines, so I didn't whisper you. It's hard to fight and talk at the same time.

Yes, we all need to be on-line at the same time and meet somewhere. I say Stormwind would be a good place to meet.

HI L4L Thanks for starting the new WoW thread thanks
that last one I started was getting veryyyy long! :lol12:
I've been talking with Asha when I'm playing my
Draenel-Shaman lvl 12 he's been playing his Draenel
too to help me out, he said after the holidays & after he has
the Bear would be a better time to start the WoWW Guild.
I'm gonna use my Night Ellf-Hunter lvl 22- Herbalism/Alchemy
named Kreeye~

I've been playing my Ally toons but I must be playing at
different times then you, I've been playing in the early
afternoon's & real late at night, and you guys are all at
least an hour or two ahead of slow poke me so that is
prolly why I haven't seen you.
Does anyone know of a good site to read up on Guilds?
my manual doesn't really sy a whole lot about them?
I don't think I' know enough or am a good enough
player to play with all you guys, you guys are sooooo
great and know what your doing and I don't. I feel
like I would bog you down with my stumbling around duh

Thanks for the help Linda! you still have snow? we might
get some in the next couple days! :happydance12: YEAH!!
I'm so Happy your gonna use Pipendelly she's GGGreat!!!!
I think Stormwind would be the perfect place for us all

Hi Karen!
That's good! I'm glad you're having fun! I agree with Asha'man.
Linda's helped me a lot, too.
Guilds are nothing to worry about, and we're all learning new stuff every day! You will do just fine! It's a way to communicate easier and share everything while helping each other. I can contribute some gold too for the bank. One of my other toons, Bronoreen, is a miner and jewelcrafter and she makes good money.

Yeah, don't worry about being good Karen - I too am a total newbie and learn as I go smile

I've read so much about Instances, but it wasn't until I dived into the deadmines and found this glowing in an opening I found out was it was, lol.

As for Gold - I only only have 1 gold, so can't contribute with much right now, sorry.

Karen, Guilds are just whatever you want to make of them.

Some are focused only on raiding, some are leveling guild, and some are purely social. It's just a group of people who get along together.

I expect our guild will be social/leveling--we can help each other out with quests and instances. The only way to learn is by doing--If you never do it, you never learn. Trust me, I slow down every instance I do with my kids---"wait, don't leave me----eeek, I'm being attacked--help. " :rotfl12:

Having a bank tab will give us a place to put "extras." For instance, sometimes you have to make an item to level up but you don't need it--you can put one or two in the bank for other players to take. Or you might get a potion that is too low for you, etc---in the bank it goes and when another guild player needs it, they take it out.

I play whenever I have time, but since Winterveil has been running, I've been playing on BB with my Horde chasing a title. Son finished up my last achievement for me last night since I was in the car taking daughter back to FL, so now I'm Merrymaker Owlheart over there :happydance12:

Missilo, don't worry about contributing--I have a feeling we will be an easy and fun guild.

Being in a guild though will make it easier to run instances as we will have a pool of people who might want to run with us.

That sounds like the perfect kind of Guild to me L4L
my prob is I can't always see well enough and am running
into walls, cliffs. trees, I even fell off a couple cliffs into
the Veiled sea!! took me a longggg swim to
find a place to get back on land :rotfl12:
Don't feel bad missalo I only have one gold too and I
owe two gold to a nice friend who loaned it to me so
I'm in the hole now I'm broke just like in real life lol

A question about Bags.

Right now we only have.. um 5 slots for bags - will that change when we get more levels?
(not talking about bank slots here)

And what is the largest bag you can get?
Where is the best place to find bag - either by buying or looting?

Karen, just remember guilds are about helping each other. That's the main goal if it's done right. I belonged to some guilds that were just too full of drama, but we aren't going to be like that.
We can store materials in the guild bank to help crafters and sell extras in the bank to make money. Some guilds help you buy your first mounts and fix your armor, etc. Some hold lotteries to give away gold once a week. We can schedule one or more days a week to do runs through instances together. See, there's lots of neat things about guilds among them helping others learn. So, don't worry we're here to support each other and it will be fun.

Misslilo, you just buy bags with more slots in them you won't get more slots to put bags into. The biggest bags the ones you get from Harris Pilton "the gigantique" in Shattrath holds 22 items but it is several hundred gold. You can get one in your fifties levels from the Argent Dawn that holds 20 items. It's a quest reward. But you never get more slots to put bags into.
I did see a Portable Hole in the auction house but I can't remember exactly how much it held (20+) but it was over 1000 gold.
Best thing to do is create a toon that stays in Stormwind to be your bank alt and just send your sellable items to them. That helps you manage your money better and keep your bags empty. Also, if you just choose gathering professions get your bank alt up to lvl 6 and have them do leatherworking and they can turn your leather scraps into light leather and you make more money that way.

I agree with everything that Debra said. I wish that they had more slots for bags, but if they did I would just horde more items. This way I'm forced to sell. The largest bag that one toon has is 18 slots. She has seven 16 slot bags in the bank to hold more suff. I'm terrible at holding on to some items. My son made me my first blue item. I don't wear it, but I can't bring myself to sell it. rotfl

L4L, I just have to tell you what I saw last night in Ironforge. It was a PUG PUPPY. I was in the bank, I looked down at the bottom of my screen and he was behind me. SO CUTE. When he left I chased him out of the bank because I wanted to ask the player "how did you get him?" He logged off, before I could ask. sad

Andrea, maybe Pipen can help with Deadmines. She is level 40 now. Maybe some others would like to help out?

We set a record last night for -30. I'm staying in the house all day.

wave Linda

Andrea, I'm sure we can.

You can buy 16 slot Netherweave bags for around 10 to 15 gold in the Auction House. Soot can make these too if you can provide the mats.

You can also get leather packs from the AH (or maybe we'll have a member who can make those) that are 14 or 16 slot.

As you level up, you can buy Frostweave bags, 20 slots, are usually in the 50 to 70 gold range. I think Soot can make those too, but the materials are quite expensive (which is why they are so expensive)

Sometimes you can loot a bag.

Making a banker character is a great idea and one that both Soot and I use. :wave12:

Lindy, I know how you feel. Son made me some my first complete armor set and it was wonderful. I've since replaced it, but just can't bring myself to sell it :rotfl12:

I saw that pug. You get it by doing random dungeons with 100 different people. So you get a pug dog for doing Pick Up Groups.

I never do that, but now I'm going to have to start.

-30 eek and double eek

Ok, I'm going to stop compaining about 20.

OK, Pick Up Groups (pug) makes sense. I thought something like that because he was level 80. He was so darn cute. Our son has a all black pug not one hair is a different color.

It will be a long time before temps get any warmer.

I was so excited when I heard about the Pug cos with as many animals as there are in WoW, there are no dogs sad

I'm thinking we can meet tomorrow at the Bank Stairs in Stormwind at 12 or 1 Server time to collect guild signatures. Does that time work for most? Which is better?

If you can't be there, you can sign later or if we have the 10 we need, then we'll just send you an invite to join as we see you online.

Also, we need a definite name--Can't change it once we do it. Do we want to go with "GameBoomers" or "GameBoomers" plus another word or two? What think you guys? Put on your creative caps guys.

If you look at your clock under your mini map, you can set that to either Server Time or Local Time. So if we all pick Server time on the same server, we'll all be on the same time--does that make sense?

Misslilo, I'll ask Soot to do the math-- The UK is 6 hours ahead of my time zone--how does your time zone compare to the UK?

Your welcome ;o)

GameBoomers is fine with me too

Ok, lets make it at 1 p.m. Server time, which is also 1 p.m. Central Standard Time.

That's 11 a.m. West Coast time and 3 p.m East Coast time.

Misslilo, according to the internet, Copenhagen is 7 hours ahead of where I live which would be 7 hours ahead of Server time.

So that would mean 8 p.m for you. Does that time work for you?

Doc, you can have up to 10 characters on one server. All you have to do is make a character--human would be easiest as that would be closest to Stormwind. Then have that character run into Stormwind and "live" at the Mailbox by the bank.

You will probably want to get her bags and a bank slot or two as you get money. Then you mail stuff from your active toon to the banker to hold or sell.

I mail stuff when I'm questing and don't want to have to go back and sell.

You get the bigger bags as loot drops or usually, by buying them in the AH or getting the materials for them and having a tailor make them. Soot is a tailor so when you have mats, he can make them for you for free.

OK 1pm server time steps of the bank in Stormwind.
What L4L says is what you need to do regarding a bank toon. It's good to level you bank toon up to 6 when you have time so they can have a profession like leatherworking if you do skinning then she/he can make your leather scraps into light leather. Just another way to make some gold early on when you really need it.
Cya there Boomers!

Hi Wowers!
GameBoomers is fine with me too!!
I will be there with bells on at 1pm server time, tomorrow, on the steps in front of bank in Stormwind.
How much money do we need?
I think Pipen and anyone else who wants to come would be fine, Linda! We should be able to handle it!
L4L, I have to tell you that as we were starting DM this afternoon, my plumber came by to fix another leak under my kitchen sink. He must've thought I was one crazy lady, because I let him in and ran back to the computer without even saying 'Hi' to him. :rotfl12:
Andrea :wave12:
BTW, L4L, how much mageweave would soot need for a bag?

Morning ya'll, I love your plumber story!

No money is required--I think the first bank tab is 100 gold. I figure folks can donate whatever gold they can spare.

Just for those who don't know--if you want to know the materials needed for any item so you can get them and find someone to make them for you, just google it.

For instance, I googled Mageweave bag and that brought me to

This page.

That shows that a mageweave bag needs 4 bolts of mageweave. If you go to the right just a bit and click on the Bolt of Mageweave, that takes you to This Link which shows you need 4 Mageweave cloths to make one bolt. So you need 16 cloths per bag.

That works with any item or potion etc.

Thank you to L4l and Soot for getting us our first bank tab.

We all did a great job picking out the design and color for the tabard. I like it alot.

Hi Karen!

I think it takes cloth to do bags plus some leather, and only tailors can make them. I put a couple of them in the guild bank that my tailor toon, Ardyth made. Check them out. The bank tab is there for us to put our stuff that we don't need or can't use, for the benefit of all our members. My lvl 51 leather worker toon Lalais can't make bags. Soot can make larger bags if you provide him with the materials to make them.
Have fun!

Karen there are some neat bags that leatherworkers can make--I get them when possible as they don't soulbind so I can move them from character to character.

If you google the item, you can find the exact materials needed.

Congrats, L4L. Do you need to do daily quest to get exalted? I would love to have the pet,but I run out of patience doing them every day for so little xp.

I think we need to have a run through the Stockades. Juhani has 4 or 5 quest in there. What does everyone else think?

Lindy, actually, you don't have to do dailies for this one. There are several repeatable quests that you can do as many times as you want. So Soot and I just spent a couple of days of our playing time wiping out the Snake guys and turning the quest in, pick it up, redo.

I bet we could get a group for Stockade. Do you guys want to actually fight it yourself, or do you want Soot to just run you through it?

I always think it's fun to do the fighting, but when all I am interested in is the loot or quest, then I'm happy to have someone run me through. puppy

But I don't have time until the weekend.

Doc, you don't ever have to run a dungeon if you don't want to. However, they often have nice equipment drops in them, so it's nice to do them if you can.

Soot and I have run very few dungeons, not because we don't like them (I do) but because we don't like pick up groups.

Does Misslilo need them too?

My toon Pipen is now level 40. She would be able to help those that need to go through Deadmines. We would have to do more fighting, but that would be good experience for us.

Karen, if one of your toons can use that blue item and they are the right level to equip it. Go ahead and take it that's what it is there for.

L4L will Soot be able to run us through Stockades at 1 pm server time Sunday? I have 5 quests in there and will share them with the others if they are eligible.

Hi L4L How ya doing today? what is a pick up group?
everytime I try to put something in the Guild bank it
won't let me, it either says you can't put a soul bound
item in or says I can't store my stuff here?? what do I have to
do to put something in their? How's your MIL doing?
saying *Prayers* for her hearts

Hi Linda Thank you! I can definitley use the blue item
Thank you so much!! WoW!! Pipen is lvl 40 already!!
that was fast! and just to think, I knew her when she
was just a little girl rotfl do you have the same deadmine as mine? or stockades?

so are we meeting on Sunday? what time & where?
I'm not real clear on the server time thing how does it
work again? I got a new mouse & a new keyboard (Finally!!)
so maybe it will help my playing? I doubt it though lol

Lindy, I'm sure he can--we usually fish at 2 but as long as we are done in time for use to get to STV (which we should as stocks is not a long run), that will work!

Edit:
Oops Karen I missed ya. You can't put quest items or soulbound items in the Guild bank, but you can in your own bank. The reason for that is the guild bank items are up for grabs.

Mil is still in hospital and will soon be going to rehab and from there to a retirement home, we hope. Thanks for the prayers.

bravo for the new keyboard and mouse.

Server time is Realm time. If you hover your mouse over the time at the bottom of the minimap, you will see 2 times--local and server or Realm. While local time is different depending on where you live, Realm/server time is the same for everyone on that server.

So that is why it's best to use Server/Realm time to set up meetings :O)

So, Soot should be availble before 2 or after 4 realm/server time. He likes to fish in the tourney on Sunday and hasn't been able to for a couple of months now due to family emergencies.

Edit 2: A pick up group is where you sign up to do an instance but don't have the required 5 people. The system selects people who also want to do the instance but need folks.

Sometimes those groups are great, but not always and sometimes they are downright rude--so Soot and I usually just don't quest if a P(ick) U(p) G(roup) is our only option.

Now, don't get me wrong, you can meet some great friends in Pugs---but not always

L4L, I know that misslilo has some quest in Stockades. The early time would be best for her, because of her time difference. I believe Andrea has some as well.

No Karen, Pipen does not have any quest in Deadmines. Since she is level 40 I was offering to take the lower level toons through, so Soot doesn't have to. Bless his big pally heart.

What kind of things get put in the Bank Guild then,
you can put potions in right? and leather scraps, Linen,
and armor as long as it's not soul bound?
what lvl is Soot on Fishing now? I love to fish!

if you die in the deadmines, where is the spirit guide?

when do you want to do the deadmines Andrea & Linda?

Doc, you can put things like extra potions or armor that is not soulbound or extra weapons, etc. Anything that is not a quest reward (as those are always soulbound) that you don't need and don't want to sell.

Soot is totally maxed out on fishing--he can't get anymore points.

If you die in an instance, the guide will be somewhere nearby. To get your body you either have to take the resurrection from her or run back to the instance.

We can do Stocks tomorrow around 12:30 perhaps?

Thank you so much L4L, Soot & Asha'man!
That was fun! yay I'm starting to get the hang of
these quests a little better, I think? lol
I abandon the deadmine quest I had with Kreeye after
missing going with Andrea & Lindy. I don't want to do it
cause the rewards aren't worth it.
I still have one Stockade I want to do sometime with
Krayaa my Human/Warlock.

I just need to try to learn some of the spells & points & all
that other good stuff. I was reading all the stuff Andrea &
Linda & Reata were typing to each other after they
finished their deadmine quest and I didn't have a clue
what they were saying? lol

I'm very sorry for messing the time thingy up again. Andrea,
and Linda.
I now understand realm time, Thank you L4L~
Hope your meeting went OK. Prayers for your Mama hearts

Karen, don't worry about messing up or not understanding. This game is huge and there is a lot to learn.

I was questing with both sons and hubby today and was getting the stew beat out of my hunter. As I'm yelling, "Help, heal heal heal", they are all yelling at me "Feign Death!"

I get flustered and forget I can do that rotfl wave

Hi Karen! We missed you yesterday! L4L is right, I died twice in Deadmines and poor Linda and Debra had to wait for me, then Linda and I alone did a couple of hard quests in Lakeshire and I died during that too. I've got to learn not to go charging in like I was a warrior or pally and trying to mow down everything in sight! Thank you to Linda and Debra for your help! I have to say that I thought the Stockade was shorter than DM and a little easier with the loot being lower quality. I didn't see any blue-named loot there like there is in DM. I'm also just beginning to understand Soul Shards and how to use them.

Karen, missed you yesterday going through Stockade. That is short compared to DM, but with Soot running us through makes it seem short. DM was a hoot. I worried about getting us lost because I get so turned around. I kept comparing Atlas map to the mini-map to see if I was going in the right way. I like the Atlas add-on, but it doesn't show your location on the map. I can always find the long way to get from A to B. Andrea found that out last night in SW. rotfl

L4L, I can related to what you said about Feign Death. I was playing with my son and he kept yelling at me to FD, FD. I'm yelling back "what the heck is FD." He told me and I have never forgotten it.

I still have one Stockade quest I need to do with
Krayaa my Human/Warlock. what are good jobs for
her to have? I have like 4 or 5 Dungeons with Kreeye
are those hard to do, can you do them alone or
should you have help? it doesn't say group or
2 people it just says Dungeon?

"it just says Dungeon" You'll have to enter a dungeon to complete that quest(5 person group). Also Enchanting and Tailoring would be great for a warlock.

Hi ya Cody and welcome to GameBoomers wave

What kind of toons do you have? Do you have a favorite?

Karen, Cody is right. The quests that say Dungeon are meant for 5 people--like Stocks and Dead Mines. However, if there is a high enough level person running it, then the number of people doesn't matter.

It is fun to actually do the dungeons when they are level appropriate, but they take longer that way. But they give you good experience in playing your character too. And normally that is where the good "goodies" are.

But, you certainly don't have to run them. Soot and I seldom do.

Feign Death is a talent that hunters get. I don't remember when though. It allows you to pretend you are dead which will often get the baddie beating up on you to go away. But some NPC's aren't fooled by it. It's great for hunters when they've grabbed the aggro and can't get away. Snowstorm can usually get the aggro off of Snowowl, but not always. But I get flustered when I'm running instances and forget I can do it. Also, I hate leaving Storm to die while I pretend to be dead on the floor rotfl I know she is just bits and bytes, but she is my pet and you all know me.....

Enchanting and Tailoring are good skills to have--that is what Asha does with his 'lock on BB, but they can be expensive to level puppy

Doc, aggro is how much the bad guys don't like you. Whomever they dislike the most, gets whacked.

It's has to do with who they spotted first and who they think is the biggest threat or the biggest weakness, and it determines who they beat on.

Since Soot's pally wears Plate and my hunter doesn't, they are supposed to beat on Soot. Most of the time they do, but every now and again, someone decides that Snow must die lol

I've finally reached lvl 30 and last evening I decided to get rid of some of those darn quests, that's been hanging over my head for a long loong looong time laugh

And a question:
My lvl 12 Human hunter hasn't gotten the letter with how to obtain a Pet yet - is that normal for humans?

Hi Misslilo!
My hunter was a Night Elf and I don't remember getting a letter. I visited the pet trainer in the city I started in who gave me quests to learn how to tame creatures. He had a yellow exclamation mark above his head. Hope this helps!

Misslilo, L4L and Andrea are right just visit your trainer in your starting area to learn how to get your pet. Be sure to get Aspect of the Cheetah at level 16 to help you run faster. You will get a letter to get your mount at level 20.

Hmm, reminds me - seems I don't have jewelcrafting as an option.
Why is that?
I thought we got it with Burning Crusade and I should have it, since we can't install Lich King without it installed, right?

Hi Missalo Just go to the Pet trainer & He gives you a
Taming rod and tells you to go use it on a certain
animal, when you find & use the taming rod on the animal,
hr gives you another animal to tame, you go tame
another animal you have to tame 3 animals.
and you have to bring all the animals each time back to the trainer B4 they turn on you so you have to hurry back
with them.
at least that's what you had to do when playing a Night Elf
or a Blood Elf I never got any letter either.
I only got a letter B4 I got my Mount But I couldn't make a Human Hunter
cause the Humans didn't have Hunters when I
created mine, how did you make yours??

Hi L4L, Andrea & Lindy, How r u guys doing?
I haven't played WoW in over 5 days, not been feeling
so hot. I sure miss it. I'll be back playing soon as
my leg infection settles down some. Have fun you all!!

God Bless~Karen

EDIT: Hi again Missalo, I have Jewelcrafting and I only
have WoW and The Burning Blade installed. so I think
you should have it?

Maybe I'm just looking the wrong place, but when I ask one of those guys in Stormwind, jewelcrafting is not there with the other professions.

MissLilo,
The only JC trainer, as far as I know is where the Draenei start in Exodar. That's where I trained my Dwarf Rogue miner in JC.
You get there from the dock at Auberdine in Darkshore, Kalimdor.
Hope that helps!
Karen, hope you feel better very soon!

Missilo, good thing Andrea answered you....I was getting ready to say the only one is in Silvermoon...which is true if you are Horde rotfl

According to Mr. Google, the Ally trainer is in the Crystal Hall in the Exodar until you reach Grand Master, and then you'll need to go to Honor Hold in Hellfire wave

MissLilo,
There is only one JC trainer for ally toons and it is in The Exodar. JC is fun, but a real pain to level. Horde has only one as well it is in Silvermoon City.

Andrea, thanks for the info. I had been thinking about a new pc, since they have Win. 7 I didn't know how the game would run.

Karen, get well soon! Miss you.

Thanks for the sympathy and good wishes everyone! It's good to know I was missed.
The new computer won't be here until 1/26. It's got Win 7 and it's 64 bit. The Blizzard forums say it should work fine. Fingers are crossed.
I don't know if everyone is familiar with Alakhazam.com , but they have locations for every trainer every quest, coords, crafting information, etc. It's a good source or at least it has been for me.
Grats Pip on lvl 46 for your lock! Way to go!
See you soon. Have fun!

I can confirm, that WOW plays just fine on Win7 Pro 64-bit smile

As for your link (thanks a million btw), I think it's spelled with two L's - so it's Allakhazam.com razz

Regarding ADD-ONS:
How many of you have graphical interface add-ons installed?
I'm thinking of something like nUI / fuBar / kgPanels or X-Perl Unitframes etc.
If so, I'd like to hear what you use + additional add-ons.
Your favorites so to speak laugh

I don't have the add-ons that you mentioned, but I do use these:

Auctioneer-Helps to sell items at the auction house.

Carbonite-Shows me where all my quests are located. There are many other add-ons that do the same thing as this one.

Bartender 4-Gives you more action bars for everything you need. I highy recommend this one.

Atlas and Atlas Loot-The first has all the maps for the dungeons. It also shows where the bosses are located. The only thing it doesn't do is show your location when you are in the dungeon. Wish it did. The second shows you all the loot that is dropped from the bosses and trash mobs. It gives you the chance to look at the loot you might want before going through and putting it on a wish list.

Ratings Buster-This compares items that you pick up to the ones that you have equipped. I think the last patch has put something like this in the game, but I still use it.

X-Perl does a lot of customizing to the User Interface as far as displays of things like spell timers and raid and buffs and things like that.

Omen is a threat meter so if Soot and I are both attacking, I see how much threat he is drawing and how much I am drawing. As he is the Tank in the group, he needs to draw all the threat so if one particular shot of mine generates a lot of threat, I can drop it from the rotation on that NPC.

Tom Tom is like Cartographer. I used to use Cartographer and liked it better as I could use notes with it, but with the latest big patch, my cartographer coordinates were very wonky. So, I'm waiting for them to update it and then I'll switch back.

Thanks, L4L! Appreciate the info. I think this will always be a learning process, and all he help we can give each other is very much appreciated!
I have a huge problem downloading add-ons that I can't get via Curse. I have no idea how to put them in the game folder or where to put them, or what parts of them to put in. This is an enormous frustration for me. Since I upgraded to Win7, it's gotten harder since the way the files and folders are displayed has completely changed over XP. I wish I could get someone on the phone to walk me through it, or at least give step by step instructions.

They have a downloadable client , which you then use to install/uninstall/update all the add-ons you have smile

should have done that B4 I opened my mouth laugh
So, if I install Carbornite do I install Cartogagher too?
or do they do the same things? last time I tried to do
add ons I ended up installing 3 different add ons
Quest helper & carbonite & tom tom and everything
got overlapped & I couldn't read my mini map,
I ended up taking them all off except for Quest helper
so which ones can I install without messing everything up??
I get confused with these things? which is the Best
Quest helper one to install?? Thanks so much~Karen puppy

Since WoW was launched. I have about one of every class now. I only play 2 toons primarily though.(80 Warlock & 80 Shaman)

I checked previous forum posts to see what server the guild is on. Found out it was Draka, but had no idea if it was Alliance or Horde. I'm guessing alliance since you have Night elves and humans. So I'll catch up. When I get a chance. laugh

Doc, the only way you will know which add ons you like is by trying them out. Son says to just stick to the ones that have been downloaded often, and be sure to have only one of each type loaded at the same time. For instance, if you have 2 Cartographer type programs running at the same time, that could cause conflict.

I'm sorry your leg is not behaving!

We are supposed to be going to FL tomorrow to visit daughter, but several things just came up, so not sure we can now. So we will be iffy for playing this weekend.

Cody, you slipped in on me! The Guild is Alliance and is on Draka. Anyone can add you when you are both on, or you can email us in game--You'll catch SnowOwl and Sootwow on the most. Be sure and let us know your name, or I might not respond.

Karen, yes you can as they all do different things, except I think Bartender and Dominoes may do the same thing and you wouldn't want to have both active at the same time.

I used to use Dominoes, but for some reason on my computer it messed with my ability to roll need or greed. When I got rid of Dominoes, my roll began to work again.

Something has come up, so not sure I'll get to go see Daughter, but oh well, such is life.

No Karen - most add-ons are very small files and doesn't take up much memory.
But you can always check the FPS in-game, and if it drops too low and affect your gameplay, you can always uninstall again smile

I made a Night Elf Priest. I had one chance to play for a couple of hours. He has no job at the moment though.

About addon memory, there should be what is called a "micro menu". You'll see Character Info, Spellbook and Abilities, Talents...etc. There will be Game Menu on that list. Just hover your mouse over that icon and you will see how much memory your addons is taking up.

Anyways woke up early this morning, and I have 30 minutes before the server shuts down, so I'll try to make it to level 10.

Yeppers, Tuesday morning is a No WoW time most of the time. Occasionally, it's up on Tuesday mornings, but I always plan on not being able to play then. And then I watch the clock waiting for 1 p.m. which is the time it's usually back up for us rotfl

Yeah, I don't like Tuesday maintenance. I try to find something else to do that day. NCIS is new tonight so I'll be watching it. I might even watch Lost. It's a repeat, but need to catch up before next week's new show. I can't wait to see how the show ends. Not much WoW for me today. When the Olympic games start I'll be playing less. smile

I am going to Dallas to get my new computer tomorrow. I have spent 12 days trying to get the computer I ordered through Tiger Direct here but it's been a nightmare. I won't bore you with the details, but I won't order anything from them again.
I will try to get her up and going by Thursday. It's gonna take a while to reload WoW, it's 90 addons, and all the patches up until now. Plus, I need to learn Win 7. I may need to make a novena to St. Jude smile
See you guys on WoW soon I hope!

I got an HP Pavilion HPE 110-f. It's not the mother of all computers but I think it's just fine and the new 22" monitor looks huge after 8 years of laptops smile
It's got 8GB of DDR 1333 upgradeable to 16 GB,an ATI Radeon 4350 with a GB of video memory, 1T of HD, a nice Lightscribe DVD ROM, it can be set for a Raid configuration and it's Crossfire ready.
I am currently putting WoW on and finding my addons.
I hate to temp the Cyber gods but everything has run on wheels so far.
Hope to be back on by tomorrow. I missed you all too!

I had a busy weekend, not much time for playing. I played a little Sat. and Sun. morning, with me being 2 hours ahead no one else was on. I hope to play later on tonight.

Andrea, I use glyphs for Pipen and Juhani. Pipen has a "Tap Life" glyph must have for warlocks. It gives you more mana everytime you use the tap life spell. She has others, but can't think what they are right now. I will check next time I play.

Doc, Cartographer is not working right for us--since the last patch and according to the forums, the people who were updating it stopped.

Tom Tom gives you coordinates and allows you to put "pins" in the map and make way points (the arrow) to help you get from place to place.

I don't know about Lighthouse? Did you mean Lighthead? If so, that gives you the ability to read lots of comments from other players concerning current quests. Doing so has helped me many times.

I don't use Quest Helper, but I think it would be like combining Tom Tom and Lighthead maybe?

Lindy, I can relate. With the new puppy and our g'son, playing time is getting scarce but we will get there wave

Wow this thread is HUGE. I didn't really want to read the ENTIRE thread, but I did read some of it, and yet...I still didn't see what server you all are on.

I've been playing WoW since release 5 years ago. But I've become kind of bored and lonely playing it lately. I've been a raider in a huge raid guild with 350 people, so it's pretty easy to feel alone in a guild that size (if that makes any sense). I'm kind of bored with raiding, and I've been thinking about rolling a new toon on a new server and just starting from scratch to get back to the fun times. Having 3 level 80s, while it may sound fun, actually gets very tedious after you grind max rep on all of them with so many factions and what not.

So anywhoo... wink ...I'd love to come play with you guys. I know you don't know me, but...I'm a friendly person and would really enjoy a group of friendly people to play with. (Gosh I sound like a little kid, "Can Looney come out to play?") hehe

The server is Draka. We are playing ally toons. I have a level 46 gnome warlock Pipendelly and a level 42 Draenei shaman Juhani. There are lower level toons in the guild so you won't feel lonely starting a new toon. You will have lots of help.

Please come and play with us. happydance

I'm Andrea, and I have 5 toons on Draka. (Ally) Not all of them are in the guild, and they're all different levels.
When you start your new toon, be sure to let us know the name! So glad to have a new member!

Hi guys and gals! My nelf druid's name is Sharleigha. I'm level 10 at the moment and would love to have some chat to look at besides trade chat, if you know what I mean. smile It's 8:15pm central time and I'll be in game at least until 11pm, or around about then, I think. Unless I get tired of walking everywhere...heh. Thank the gaming gods that Blizzard saw to it to let us have mounts at level 20 now. I'd forgotten how horrific it is to not have one. hehe =D

I guess I could probably make a deathknight too, actually. That way I'll have a lowbie and a "midbie" (lol) to play with. I have NO idea what to name a DK. Hmm....I'll have to get back with ya on that one. Maybe Sunnyfrufru. Sucks to be limited on the number of letters. I could make that a lot funnier. Oh well.

Karen, what is YOUR toon's name? lol I was in game chattin' it up with Sootwow for a while last night, but so many people that I don't know their names in game yet.

I'm going to log in now and see if anyone is on. Haven't been able to hook up with a guild invite yet, but I hope to this weekend. smile

I'm going to be on both Sharleigha and yes, Sunnyfrufru (gnome DK...always thought that would be comical) throughout the day today.

See you all soon...I hope!

Yes, it's World of Warcraft and yes it can be downloaded if you pay for a key to unlock the game smile

I've known a lot of people playing it from way back - more than a decade ago, and I've always thought heck no - I'm an adventurer at heart!
In my mind it was all about killing/slashing and what not, and that was definitely NOT me, lol.

But then one day I decided to read up on it in the WoW threads on here, and it peeked my interest.
Especially since it seemed people my age and older - sorry ladies laugh - played and had great fun.
So I made an account and my thoughts about the game was so wrong - I have a great time with it - especially now, since I'm in the guild and know they'll be there to help me along.

Good Saturday WoW Boomie Buddies!
Niteowl, I'm so glad to see you back on line! I would be glad to help you 'try out' WoW with Recruit a Friend. You can play for 10 days for free to see if you will like it before you buy. Any of us can do that for you and it gives us a little benefit, too. If you're interested, just let us know! We'd love to have another member! Ohhh just one thing!
If you're in UK and want to play with all of us, you need the US version of it - otherwise you can't be on the same server as us smile

I had to buy the game keys from Interactcd.com and make an account on the US Battlenet to make it work. laugh

Misslilo, I thought the same thing, plus the screen shots that twizzler sent looked sooooooo complicated.

But then Asha started playing and I started looking over his shoulder and thought--hmmmm.... this game can be whatever you want to make of it.

So Soot and I started playing with Asha and Twizzler and at first, I was sooooooo confused, but I loved it and now I must play. In fact, I got up just before midnight to do my dailies last night in pursuit of Exalted with the Kalu'ak rotfl

I might get on today or tomorrow, but I've just not been in the mood to play for a while smile
Don't know why really - guess it's just one of those things, lol.

Niteowl, I laugh all the time as we discuss what we've been up too.

My sister gets a kick out of it too as I will sometimes send her emails that describe what I did in WoW that day and she thinks that is too funny.

We bought the Battle Chests and then Lich King separately--that gave us the nice manuals, though you can download it all from Blizzard.

If you buy the CD's, you will have to patch after installing and depending on your connection, that may take awhile luck

L4L, I think that's one of Debra's toons! Not 100% sure though.
Hi Karen!! Missed you soooo much! Both here at GB and in game. Kept watching for you. Been keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Hope things are going well!
My mage, Ardyth, needs a trip thru a higher level dungeon for a mage quest, and I hope we can do it this weekend. We'll see. Mentioned it to L4L and Linda.
Hope all GB WoWers are having a good week!

Hi ya Karen, I hope you can start back on your meds soon to help you get your energy back! How is your sister doing?

Soot has been felled by the dreaded Sciatica flare up. This has never happened to him before and he wasn't able to walk without 45 minutes of very intense pain for a few days. He is doing better now that he is waking up to take his pain pills and thereby, staying ahead of the pain.
