Hi, I've just begun this game, and can't get Nicole to swab the crystals around the body's mouth. I've made the swab, and clicked the close-up of her face, and Nicole mentions them, but I can't swab them up...Help, please!

Hi gillann,

After you're in close-up view of her face, you then need to get a close-up of her mouth, then you should be able to swab the crystals. luck

Thanks, Rushes. Now, I'm stuck in the building, and can't leave. I've collected all of the evidence Re; WT, and taken all the pictures, etc., but there is no repeat dialogue with the policeman, and Nicole comments that she needs to examine the room more...the inspector might have missed something. I'm a loss as to what I've missed. Any clues?

Did you tape the fingerprint to a piece of paper?

Bingo! That was it. It looked like it was on paper, but wasn't. Maybe Marie has done the same..All the evidence should be bagged, and the prints have to be on the paper. Thanks, as always.

This is going to be a very long game....I've been to the cafe several times, but can't get any mention of a wire, or get the hair clip from Sylvie. I've been back to the hotel, and checked and rechecked the lamp, antenna and adapter. Have no idea what's missing.

Hello, again. I've encountered a problem at the Moulin Rouge. I've used Jack's key to open the dressing room door, but Nicole won't enter. She just keeps saying "I can't see anything". Jack's keys with the flashlight are no longer in inventory, so where do I find any light? I couldn't find a light switch, either. What to do?

There's a lightswitch to Nicole's left as she stands in the doorway - perhaps a little lower down. luck

Hi Rushes: Well here I am again. The save didn't take for what ever reason. My son helped and couldn't think why. Anyway, I finally had the tube in the water and Nicole seeing the hole. However, the marker won't mark it and of course Nicole doesn't do anything. Any suggestions? I really like the series, and hoping I can get this to work. Thanks a usual, Judy D.

There might be 2 reasons:
- Scroll to start of the list - the saved games are arranged by dates.
- I wonder if your game is European and not NA release. The saves are not interchangeable on those releases.

HI MaG; I had a save once before and it worked, so it must be the NA release. I'm sure there is something that I am missing. It is just frustrating. When I played Syberia, no problems, so being new to this is interesting to say the least. If you think of anything, it would be appreciated. Thanks to all of you, I am amazed at how you figure these games and do the walkthroughs. Judy D.

As I mentioned above - did you scroll the load list and looked for it at start of the list?

Please use this thread now if you have additional questions about the game.

Judy, just a thought here, in case you're still having problems getting the save to work (it is the US version) and if you can't find it at the beginning of your load list. After you've put the tyre into the fountain and Nicole has commented, the tyre automatically returns to inventory. So look for it there, and click the marker onto it. Then examine the tyre in close-up to see if it has the marker print on it.

Hi. I'm having a problem getting into the villa in Marseilles. After the bell rings, I've managed to throw the rope and anchor on the wall, and have seen Nicole scramble up the wall, but then, there is no cursor for her to jump down. The WT says to jump down to the right, but I can't. Then, the guard shows up, and I have to do it all over again. What is the trick to getting her down? Thanks!

Did I ever mention that I hate sliders. I'm having a terrible time with this one. I've figured out others with no problem, but can't get this one. Hate to quit..any suggestions?

It might help to make note of where the empty space should be after you have completed the slider:

Perhaps work on the top left corner of 4 tiles first, then the top right section, then the bottom right section, leaving the bottom left section with the empty space until last.

ronrob posted this very helpful tipsheet on how to solve sliders, perhaps it might help:

If I know what the completed puzzle is supposed to look like, my technique with sliders is to line up what goes into the first row in the last column. For example if the first row is A B C D, then I create

X X X A
X X X B
X X X C
X X X D

Then move the tiles out of the first row and snake the column tiles counterclockwise into the row.

If the second row is J K L M, then I create

A B C D
X X X J
X X X K
X X M L

Now move the tiles out of the second row and snake the column tiles counterclockwise into the row.

A B C D
J K L M
Etc.

Again, this assumes you know what the final product looks like. If you don't, slider puzzles can be very difficult.

luck

Ok. I give up. Does anyone have a SAVE for after the slider puzzle? I've given up on the last 3 games with sliders, bcause I just could't get it, but would like to finish this one. Thanks!

Hello, again. I've gone back to Hun for the Puppeteer, and am still stuck on the slider. I'm down to the last 3 pcs. The top 2 rows are correct, and I have the bottom corners in place, but can't arrange the bottom left 3 pcs. The third square down, is supposed to be second from left on the bottom row. The pc that goes correctly on the left (second from bottom) above the bottom corner pc, I can't get there.(To make this long story shorter, there are two pieces out of place, and I can't get them correct.) I wasn't able to use the Save you sent, Rushes, so am trying to do this on my own. Have done well, till now. How do I get those 3 pcs. in the correct place, without undoing the whole puzzle? Help!

Gillann,

It is difficult to help you with the slider based on what you posted.

Do you want my saved game?

I'm sorry to be so vague, MaG. Rushes sent me a Save, which I couldn't get onto the folder, so I went back to the game to try and do it on my own. I've managed to complete the 2 top rows, and have the bottom corner pieces in place. The problme is trying to get the bottom left tiles in their proper place. I could try another Save, if you have one...Thanks, so much.

I forwarded the two game saves to desktop, and then to the folder for Hunt for the Puppeteer, but they never showed up. My husband tried for an hour to do it, too, but no luck. Have no idea what the problem is. I copied and pasted them to the game folder, so don't know what the problem was. Gillann

Did you renumber those files?
Did you check or scroll the load list and see if the saved game is at the beginning of the list?

I am having the same problem now as Gillann. Could you send a save for the library slider puzzle? It appears I have the same puzzle that is in MaGtRo's walkthrough. I cannot get the pieces together to finalize the puzzle. Could some one also give instructions on how to save what you send to file and where do I put it?
Thank you.

Hello. I took a break, and tried once again to solve the slider, but no luck. Maybe someone could send another save, and I'll try again. I tried to load the one Rushes sent, but it never worked. I tried to send it to the folder, but it never showed up. Thank you!

gillann, are you playing the US or European version? - The saves for one version are not compatible with the other. (I sent you the US save.)

Thanks, Rushes. I'm playing the US version, but for some reason try as we might, we couldn't get the save to load into the folder. I copied and pasted, but it never showed up. Have been trying like crazy to do it on my own...good for future puzzles, but am down to the last 2 pieces, and still struggling!
