Hi, deleterman!
I dug out my game manual, and here are the various controls:
Once the room has loaded, press the spacebar. To move forward or backward, move the mouse in the direction you want to move. To turn left or right, move the mouse left or right. To stop, press the spacebasr again. To tilt your view up or down, press the up or down arrow. To raise or lower your view, press the left shift or ctrl key.
I hope this helps. It may take awhile to get used to the controls, but you'll be a pro in no time!

Hi, deleterman!
You're very welcome. When you move your cursor over something you can interact with (a door or inventory item), I believe Tex will describe the item first and then you should have the option to look at, open or get it.
Once you've visited a location by foot, it will appear on your travel map, so you won't have to worry about doors for too long.
Have fun!

All I remember is that you have to press the spacebar to stop your movement...and then ....click on the door?

Hi, deleterman!
The Tex Murphy series is one of my all-time favorites and, even though the graphics are archaic by today's standards, they're still enjoyable.
Have fun!

Hi,
Like you I'm learning controls the hard way, I found the keyboard will work like this (l-look,m-move,g-get,o-open,arrow up raises camera, arrow down lowers) use mouse to go forward, back, right, left. similar to G K III, I hope this helps so far I'm getting there. Keep trying interesting story so far. Charllotte

I also used the page up, page down, home, end, insert, delete buttons. A couple have Tex glide sideways left and right, another couple have him looking up or down, then the last two have him crouch down or stand taller so he can see stuff that's high up.
