GOG Games just added Phantasmagoria and Space Quest 4-5-6 Here.

Quote:
Phantasmagoria is a horror-themed adventure game, released in 1995, when the popularity of "interactive movie" titles was at an all-time high. It was the best-selling title by Sierra at the time, plus one of the best-selling titles of the year. The most distinctive feature of Phantasmagoria is that it went where other games never would, causing a lot of controversy worldwide. The thrilling story, whose script was four times longer than that of a regular movie, will have you witness troubling scenes and is bound to keep your heart rate elevated for hours on end... It comes as no surprise, then, that Phantasmagoria is a game reserved for mature audiences only.

Quote:
The Space Quest series is an absolute classic among point-and-click adventure titles and the ultimate example of just how much cliche can be squeezed into a game.

Those who have already witnessed the antics of space-janitor Roger Wilco will need no introduction. If not, then check our trailer and if you're a fan of adventure games, humor and/or space opera, look no further and get this pack, right now! The games love to parody sci-fi franchises like Star Trek or Star Wars, but they don't stop there. No pop-culture reference is safe with Roger Wilco and the series' hilariously sarcastic narrator on the job. The story itself will see you traveling through space, time and even your significant other's lower intestine! So put on your space-boots, grab your broom and do your part for "truth, justice and really clean floors". Roger, Wilco, over and out!

Happy Gaming!

Ana yay

Just a heads up - I have a little thread going on the GOG forum, where I'll be gifting a game to those who can guess 2 games I have on my wishlist there laugh

So head over and join and you might get lucky.

Edit - sorry it's already over.
One lucky guy from Finland won a game of his choice laugh

lol Did you guess which one s/he'd pick? Since February and March are a bit quiet when it comes to new adventure releases, more classic games to play via GOG is a nice alternative!

The guy wanted Phantasmagoria the most, so I gifted it to him.
Turned out the games he guessed - Sanitarium and Phantasmagoria - were the only two on HIS wishlist laugh

Wow Ana, I've been looking for this for yonks, thanks so much for the nudge!

Can anyone confirm that there are action sequences in it and if so, how dextrous you have to be? Thank you.

It's okay, i did a quick shufti (with one eye closed) at the walkthrough and there don't seem to be any action bits.

Myopia,
It has been a LONG time since I played the game, but I recall the final part of the game being "timed." In other words if you don't click to the next room in time, you will die. It is not an action sequence in anyway, but I recall not being able to move at my leisure during this final part of the game either. It is a great game and one I will definitely play again. Just to let you know.

You can play the final chapter in a different manner by not having a needed item and then you are chased through the house. It is quite exciting. The game allows you to start Chap 7 in this way.

orchgamer, thanks much for your info and the warning - I'll save often!

Pokey, yikes, think I'll pass on having a 'fun' time with chap. 7 and try to get through as sedately as poss! Thanks for your input.
