Does anyone know where the saved games are kept in this game and how to manually delete? Re-installing doesn't delete and I'm having trouble finding the folder.

Look for the Secrets of DaVinci folder.
In XP: The Secrets of Da Vinci\Users\Profile#
If you want to manually delete - right click the saved game files and select 'delete'.

I tried that and it didn't seem to work. I'm using Vista. Would it be the same to delete?

Have you tried highlighting the file/folder you want to delete, and then hitting the Del button?

Are you in the middle of playing the game? If so, be careful not to delete everything, otherwise you'll have to start the game over.

I did delete in order to re-start the game. When I started again, the saved games were still there.

Sorry, dottie, I thought you'd found the save folder for this game. I'm not familiar with Vista. Maybe try a file Search? Or perhaps someone who's played the game on Vista can advise us.

I'll move you to Hints.
Usually Hints handles saved games, so someone over there may know where the game puts them in Vista.

I'm almost finished the game but I can't seem to make the smoke screen at the still. I have the ingredients, water, sugar and saltpeter. After I add the water and try to add the others, it says "I can't see what I'd make with that" I've checked the wt to make sure I've triggered everything. Any ideas?

Be sure that you read and click on the page in the journal on how to make fumigant or smokescreen.
When you make the fumigant, check if you have fuel and also close the door of the setup.
