I have sound but I have no speech what would cause this problem? I'm playing on XP.

Check the game options to see if the game has separate controls for speech and other sounds.

If there are none, see if reducing audio acceleration helps.

(To reduce audio acceleration, click your Start button, then Run. Type
dxdiag
in the box and OK it.
When Dxdiag appears, on the Sound tab, move the slider to change acceleration.)

What sound card do you have? Sometimes updating sound drivers helps problems.
