Hi, Boomers..

I made a thread about this 3 years ago, and I was amazed at some of your answers...

So I thought it fun to do it again since there are so many new Boomers that have joined the site.

You are waiting for that much anticipated game to arrive...You get it ,and load it up...Then a box pops up "The License Agreement" You can either click you agree or you don't agree...

Question:

How many would click I don't agree? After waiting ,and wanting to play a game so very badly. lol
I have to tell you..I have never ever click I don't agree..For fear my game would never install to play... lol

It just amazes me that the developer knows very well I think...That we all would "Agree"

If you choose "I don't Agree" the game will not install. This is the only way for the game makers to have a binding license agreement for the use of their software. :-)

Here's another question for you to ponder, Darleen: You choose Exit then Main Menu then Exit again. Then you get "Do you REALLY want to exit?" I, for one, feel like responding, "No! I was just joking with you!" crazy

I got this .js file, that makes shutting down easy.

Open Notepad and put this line into it:

(new ActiveXObject("Shell.Application")).ShutdownWindows();

and Save As Shutdown.js
(if it puts .txt after the js, then right click and rename to just shutdown.js)

Put the file on your harddrive somewhere and then make a Shortcut on the desktop. smile

Personally (and not just to be different, honestly) I like to have second chances before I quit. Sometimes I think of something just at the last minute and I like to be able to go back without having to restart the game. I have even been known to absent-mindedly click on QUIT when I meant START, but that's something else again!

Actually, this little ShutDown helper file doesn't shut down immidiately - you have to click one button, then it shuts down smile

I've put my shortcut on the QuciskStart bar - so it's just two clicks for me.

OK, I have a query :

How many of you actually READ everything you
'Agree' to?

I for one don't.

Yet, have always wondered if it was gonna come back
and bite me in the tukus some day scared

I don't either smile
Besides, most of those Agreements say almost the same, so if you've read one, you have read all.

If they put dancing purple cows somewhere in the text, I might read it.

As everyone in the casual forum knows, I read them all and will not download or install if I do not agree.

Here's my $.02. Having worked in the legal field for quite awhile, the agreement is just to "cover their behinds." Need I say more?
