I am trying to decode the celtic alphabet. I have used the quill and have the Tombe, but when I used the compass I have the completed circle but I do not have the alphabet on the next page.

What have I missed or what am I doing wrong?

Make a complete circle with the compass.
Be sure that you have a complete outer and inner wheel. luck

I have done that. I have the whole inner circle, but the page is ripped on the corner,so I do not have all of the outer circle only the inner circle. What have I missed?

Hi pjones,

Try redrawing the circle. Even though the page is ripped you should still be able to draw the full circle across the ripped page and what's beneath it.

I have made pass the circle, but I am stuck again.

I am at the end. I am unable to line up the mirrors. The best I get is the light is in the middle of the statue instead of the tiles on the floor.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for all your help again.

Have you had a look at Malcolm's walkthrough page HERE?
Did you do this before starting the mirror puzzle: Examine the statue of Virgin Mary (back left of the chapel) to interpret the lines of the prophecy that refer to 'chaste eyes show where the treasure lies'.

To adjust the mirrors as illustrated in the above graphic click them as follows (hope you saved your game just prior to this so you can replay this part without the mirrors having been touched yet):

FRONT RIGHT:
3 times
FRONT LEFT:
5 times
MIDDLE RIGHT:
3 times
BACK RIGHT:
3 times
MIDDLE LEFT:
4 times

luck

Yes, I have saved my game here. I am still having trouble with the mirrors. Is there only two positions on the columns, top or bottom? I understsnd the mirrors move by clicking on them however clicking on the 3,4,5 times sends them back to the original postion back to the original starting point or pointing to the wall.

What am I still missing here?

To check again - did you examine the statue of the Virgin Mary and hear the comment about "her eyes that will illuminate"? The puzzle may not work correctly without hearing this.

MaG's walkthrough solution HERE is described differently to Malcolm's, although you may have checked this already.

I can't recall this particular puzzle especially well, but would hazard a guess that the mirrors are set up so that they have to be tilted all the way in one direction before they are able to move back in the other direction to the required point, thus requiring 4 or 5 clicks?

Yes, I have done all of the above more than once to no avail.

From MaG's walkthrough it says first column right wall move the mirror up than swivel the mirror until the beam hits the first column of the left wall.

If I move the mirror up the beam continues to be on the bottom of the column. Is there a way to adjust the beam from the medallion at the altar?

If not what am I doing wrong?

Please double check that the light source is done correctly - you should have lengthened it first.

Get a light source:

In inventory, look close (use magnifying glass) at the stand with a star at one end taken from the cavity. Click to lengthen the stand.

Place the lengthened stand on the hole at top of altar.

Place the glass medallion on the top of the rod.

This shoots a beam of light on the first column.
