I had a pink DS Lite and was disappointed they only had black and white I think when I got the DSi. Sure enough pink came out after I had the black one. I wish they would just come out with the pink one right at the start.

I think I will when I get extra dough buy a pink skin for my DSi.

ramona, The skin for the DSi isn't too expensive about $10.00 if you want to get it. Glad to hear that you like the thread.

I just checked on www.nintendolife.com and the preloaded applications on the DSi XL with be Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training: Arts Edition and Dictonary 6 in 1 with a camera feature. You can take a picture of a word say in a foreign language and it will translate it for you. Also included is the DSi browser.

The new Nintendo DSi XL - already out in Japan, where it's known as the DSi LL - will be released in Europe in March, Nintendo has announced.

It will be available on March 5, on both the continent and in the UK, in red and dark brown.

The Nintendo DSi XL is essentially a Nintendo DSi, only with much larger screens and a bigger, more comfortable stylus. It was released in Japan in NOvember 2009, and will be out in the US sometime this quarter.

I will be buying it, as hubby also likes the DS.

Will it still play the DSlite games?

How does that work? I have a DS Lite and would be interested in trading it in on the DS XL. How much credit do they usually give for a trade? Don't know what the price of the XL will be but trading would really help make the price more affordable. I was at Gamestop yesterday and asked about the DS XL and they said that they haven't heard yet when they will get it or what the price will be.

Great article Rice burner, I'm so excited about the US release date of March 29 and the price isnt bad either. I also like that fact that it has a book reader, I have a small wallet size one now so that will be a big improvement for me. I never went in for the cluncky Kindle one much too large for my purse.

So we can download e-books to it? Wow, they have really added some great features and I can't wait to get it! Some people, on other sites, have said that the screen will have too much pixilization (sp?) and won't look good because the screen will be too big. I don't know much about that kind of thing but I am hoping that the images on it look really good. Also, a lot of people seem to feel that the price is too high. I am relieved because I was afraid that it would be well over $200.00

Hi gatsbygirl, The book reader was in the article that rice burner had on his post and it was from PC Magazine which didn't give any details on it, if I see more on the net about it I'll posst it here.

I don't think that the pixilation will be any problem, there supposed to be bigger but there's no screen stretching according to Nintendo, and the videos that I have seen so far of game footage look pretty darn good to me.

I was in Gamestop yesterday and asked about it and he said that they will be giving credit for trade-ins. I have a DS Lite and I believe he said that the DS XL will cost me $129.00. If you had a DSi, the price becomes even cheaper, $99.00, I think. He gave me a flyer about it. They are taking pre-orders, as of today. I can't wait to order one and having the trade-in option makes it so much more affordable.
