Hi everyone. Recently I've been watching the show XPlay and they've been talking about and showing clips from Bioshock 2. I'd never heard of it til the other day but it looks really neat, so I thought I'd post and see if I can get some info about it from you guys.

I guess I'm wondering about how difficult it is (I haven't played many action/shooter type games before), what the plot is, and if it's as fun as they say. Oh, also, I don't know anything about the first Bioshock either and since I'm thinking about getting #2, I wonder if the first one is good as well?

Thanks for all your help!
Tracy smile

I'd recommend the first game over the second. It got better ratings and I prefer playing a character discovering the underwater city rather than a Big Daddy. It is not a difficult game to play. Then if you like the first, you can go on and play the second, which is a good game as well.

What Pokey said... Except that I'm really enjoying the Bioshock2 as a Big Daddy immensely!

Glad to hear you are enjoying it, Drac. I'm going to play it but will wait for the price to drop.

I'd recommend playing both, starting with the first so you can follow the story. They are both easy to play and hours of fun. The second one is every bit as good as the first.

Thanks so much you guys! I'm eager to play these games, now more than ever. smile Oh, another quick question though....are they on PC or just PS3 and would it be worth my while to buy a PS3 just to play them?

Thanks again!
Tracy

They are both available for PC. I wouldn't see any reason to but a PS3 or Xbox just to play these games. I found Bioshock 1 in a combo pack with Oblivion for $10 at Wal Mart.

Holy jumpin' Jehosephat! I don't think I've ever run into anything as scary as the Big Sisters! The battle isn't the thing, it's the lead up to her appearance. Big Daddy or not, I just want to run like.....! I've killed two of them, but dread it every time I hear that sound. scared

Is Bioshock 2 just for multi-player?

No, it's also for single player. I don't do multi-player myself.

Thanks Drac. I got the game, but we couldn't figure out why it wouldn't run. We thought maybe it was on-line only, but it turns out the disk is totally blank! Hopefully I can get it replaced soon. I loved the first one. Does this one have an automap like the first?

Yes, I use the map all the time.

One thing Bioshock2 does is require you to have a Games for Windows Live account before it will allow you to save. I already had a Live account from when I installed my Win 7 OS, so I just had to sign up for the Games part. It was no biggie...
