To me it's very much like Aveyond in the graphics and music department. Gameplay is a little different in it's the type of game where the fights are a surprise instead a running into a physical monster as in Aveyond.
I find Millenium a little less confusing in the going back and forth, back and forth thing that Aveyond has. That doesn't seem to be part of Millenium 1 or 2. Knowing where to go next can sometimes be a bit more challenging and the dungeons can give you a bit of a runaround too.
One thing about Millenium 2 that I DIDN'T like was it knocked your level down to 20 no matter where you were at the end of Millenium 1. I was at level 30 with all this neat gear and stuff and I was left with very little of it. I also don't like the the monsters NEVER drop any money at all.
In the new Aveyond I have over 100,000G and I've only played for about an hour or two. In Millenium I've played about 3 hours and I only have 1200G.
You do get to choose your playing level too from very easy to difficult which is excellent as I play more for the storyline and picking things up than I do for the fighting.
