Blsbet, GOG stands for Good old Games and they have a wonderful assortment of games that they remastered to work on XP/Vista etc with no tweaking and at a great price and with no DRM. You can read more Here. Ana

Meryl, there is no accurate way to calculate your time to download. It flunctuates depending their servers, how many are trying to download etc. I have times that I can download something in ten minutes or 4 hours and they can be the same size. DRM is the copywrite protection. These are all free of restrictions. Ana

DRM stands for Digital Rights Management. Examples are Securom, StarForce and Tages. Games downloaded from GOG have, blessedly, no DRM whatsoever. Guess that's why they call themselves Good Old Games.

GOG is the single best thing, that has happened to the gamer community in many years - IMHO Also, their forums are blessedly free of many of those young kids, that only get on to flame or post inappropiate things... The staff behind GOG are also very nice and work their behind off to try and get what we ask of them.

" The staff behind GOG are also very nice and work their behind off to try and get what we ask of them." And that sounds like a remarkably familiar set up to another place we all know and love to visit !! So, are we lucky or are we lucky ????

Meryl, I have very slow dsl, but by using GOG's downloader you can pause and come back later. I set mine for 3 games about 7plus gigs and just went on cleaning house or playing a game and even a nap, when I got up they were done. I think probably about just a guess it took me about four hours or more for Gabriel Knight 2 it's 2.7 gigs. Charllotte

I think that it would depend on exactly what it is you're doing. Some programs eat download time while other don't really affect it at all. that's what I've noticed on my PC
