Blsbet, GOG stands for Good old Games and they have a wonderful assortment of games that they remastered to work on XP/Vista etc with no tweaking and at a great price and with no DRM.

You can read more Here.

Can't resist even though we know what the real words are:

grizzled old gramaphone

grand old goat

greedy old gopher

LOL

Tracy, who has always loved this kind of game wink

How long would it take to download 2.4 GB. I do have broadband but it isn't very fast.
I'm so pleased I might have the opportunity to play some of these wonderful old games that were around before I ever had a computer.
I'm particularly pleased at the prospect of being able to play the Gabriel Knight games.
What does DRM mean?

Meryl, there is no accurate way to calculate your time to download. It flunctuates depending their servers, how many are trying to download etc. I have times that I can download something in ten minutes or 4 hours and they can be the same size.

DRM is the copywrite protection. These are all free of restrictions.

DRM stands for Digital Rights Management. Examples are Securom, StarForce and Tages.

Games downloaded from GOG have, blessedly, no DRM whatsoever.

Guess that's why they call themselves Good Old Games. wink

GOG is the single best thing, that has happened to the gamer community in many years - IMHO laugh

Also, their forums are blessedly free of many of those young kids, that only get on to flame or post inappropiate things... smile

The staff behind GOG are also very nice and work their behind off to try and get what we ask of them.
