Meryl,
I have very slow dsl, but by using GOG's downloader you can pause and come back later. I set mine for 3 games about 7plus gigs and just went on cleaning house or playing a game and even a nap, when I got up they were done. I think probably about just a guess it took me about four hours or more for Gabriel Knight 2 it's 2.7 gigs.

Charllotte luck

Just downloaded the first Gabriel Knight at 375 MB or thereabouts and it took over 2 hours. The 2nd Gabriel Knight is 2.4 GB so I think I'll play the first one first to see if I like it.
I'm just about the furthest one can get from the exchange and still have broadband and all my downloads are very slooooow. But it's interesting to hear that it fluctuates and depends on the game server at the time. I didn't know that.
Have to agree that this GOG service is a Godsend at any speed. We are very lucky!
And I wouldn't have known about this or Big Fish or a whole host of other things if it weren't for Gameboomers. So glad I found you all.
love
Meryl

p.s. Can I do other things on the computer while the games download or will that slow down the download?

I think that it would depend on exactly what it is you're doing.
Some programs eat download time while other don't really affect it at all.

that's what I've noticed on my PC smile
