waveDoes anyone remember this one?
It was recommended to me by someone here-can't recall who-but thanks bravo What a great game-If you liked American Mcgee's Alice, try this one.
Very surreal, colorful and imaginative with bizarre characters.I was so hoping to find a game like "Alice", and this is it.
It is a platformer and a litle difficult to manuver at times, but well worth the effort.
I've made it about half way-to the "neighborhood" level.
Would love to hear what you thought if you've played it

I wrote the review for GameBoomers. I enjoyed the game - it was worth the effort to finish it too.

thumbsup Gremlin-
I just read your review-agree with your take on this game, couldn't have described it better! The "Milkman Conspiracy" was incredible, esp. "The Neighborhood" part where you have to find your way around those weird floating streets.
Now, I'm stuck in Gloria's Theater trying to defeat Jasper the Critic.
The game requires a lot of patience, as you mentioned, sometimes it takes trial and error to come up with exactly the right moves, but I keep going just to see what"s next for little Raz happydance

I just downloaded Psychonauts from GOG. The game is wonderful, but I've run into a problem fairly early. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what. I'm getting through the obstacle course and have come to a wall where there are a series of "rods" I need to jump up and grab and then swing back and forth to jump to the next rod and on up the wall. It works perfectly to go from right to left going up, but when I turn around to go the the next higher rod (left to right) Raz won't let go of the rod no matter which key I hit. I tried going left to right from the bottom and it doesn't work there either. I'm using the default control keys with Space being the "jump" key. It works perfectly from right to left...

Any suggestions???

EDIT: Never mind, I got it! I just wasn't putting my camera angle high enough. Cool game!

Draclvr, if you ever get the chance I strongly recommend trying a gamepad for this game. I'm currently on my fourth Psychonauts playthrough, and I can't imagine trying to play it with a keyboard--I think I'd go nuts.

Even though I've finished the game three times before, I'm noticing a few things in the game I've never seen. In between levels I'm taking a little more time to wander around the areas, talking to people and experimenting to see what effects my psychic powers have on NPCs devil (not that I ever skimped on exploration my first few times through.)

As a result, in addition to some funny lines, I've also seen at least one cutscene I don't think I've ever encountered before. I've made it my duty now to go around and talk to EVERY character I can every time I finish a level, just to see what they say.

My Cyber Snipa gamepad is permanently attached to my left hand, Demosthenes! After using it for almost 3 years, I can't imagine trying to play any game without it.

I can definitely see there is a lot going on in this game that I've probably missed. But I'm loving it...

wave Dem. & Drac.
Glad to see someone's playing this great game!
Yes. I wish I had a gamepad for this one.
Havn't got one yet, as I'm not a very "serious" gamer-only play for an hour or so at a time. Sometimes get so frustrated, could tear hair out, but then I just stop and go to an easy game(now re-playing Amerzone)then when I get back to the wacky world of Raz,figure out the problem.
You definitely have to master the swinging on pole move-Raz needs this a lot later in the game.
Now, Im in Waterloo World-what an amazing level-where Raz goes from a giant on a game board with little people and houses, then switches to small when he knocks on a door.
The dialogue in this game is great-full of humor-you have to be a kid(at heart) to appreciate

I'm having a time getting past Sascha Nein's Super Censor Monster guy! But I'll probably get back at it tomorrow.

I agree - I love the dialogue!

Hi y'all. I loved American McGee's Alice. Played it with keyboard. I to have a Cyber Snipa but my hands are small and I still have problems with it.

Psychonauts is definitely one of the most under appreciated games of all time, and one of my favorite Tim Schafer games. Though you really need a gamepad, since the latter parts of the game require a fair amount of precision, and the difficulty does get a bit brutal.

cry Yes, Yes the moves in this game can be very difficult with keyboard-I am truly stuck in Waterloo World where you have to jump/float to a platform then over a sword to land on a platform.Have been trying it for days with no success, but always have another game to switch to when it gets too much. sometimes I feel like giving up on it, but maybe someday....???
Too bad- this is such an enjoyable game otherwise. I wish game designers would build in an "override" feature for impossible moves and puzzles!

Well... I kinda hate to say this, but if you're struggling in Waterloo, then the Meat Circus will make you want to tear your hair out. It is absolutely brutal compared to any of the other worlds. It is the final world though, so if you complete it, you're almost done smile

Help! I've done most everything in the Milkman Conspiracy, but went back to do the Treasure Hunt. I have everything in the real world except for the miner's head stuck in the geyser. I have Shield, but nothing to block the other geyser or any way to dislodge the head... any hints here?

Here's a hint: the head pops out if you activate shield and....think what you can do to plug up the other geyser
