Hi-

I just purchased Dawn of Magic from GoGamer. It is new. I cannot get it to install on my computer. All my other games work fine and installed fine, this one just sits and does nothing, I can hear that it is running, but nothing shows up on the screen except the large icon for it, I click install and it will not. It is suppose to play on Vista, I have a 32 bit. Any help??

If you go to Compouter, right click on the drive that has the CD/DVD and click Open, are all the files there?

Have you tried right clicking and selecting Run as Administrator?

All the files are there, and I have tried many times to run as administrator. I have a vistaa 32 bit. When I put the disc in, it will not start up except for what I said above, that is all??

If you have an antivirus running, it's possible that it's scanning the disc before allowing it to install.

I have Microsoft Security Essentials which has no place to shut down, I would have to take it off my computer????

Are you able to browse the game disc using "Windows Explorer" or "My Computer"?
Do you see files on the disc?

Can you copy the files on the disc to a folder on your hard drive?

I am not able to browse the game disc at all, I have
Windows Explorer 7. No I am not able to copy the files to a folder on my hard drive at all. All I get is the install page and when I click install, I do not recieve an error message, I can tell my computer is trying to install it, but it will not install. I can burn it, if you think that will work??

If you're not able to browse the game disc, you may have a bad disc. Your computer can't install the game if it can't read the disc.

If you reboot the computer while the game disc is still in the drive, does it make any difference? Are you able to browse the game disc after the reboot? (I'm asking because I have a Vista laptop that will not read a DVD unless you boot the computer with the disc already in the drive.)

I rebooted the computer with the disc still in the drive, it still will not. On the Dawn of Magic down at the bottom of my desktop it says after the name of the game "not responding, but it says that all the time. Could the disc still be bad, it is a brand new game, not a used one? No I am not able to look at the game files after the reboot.

Yes a brand new disc can be bad.
It can "look" perfect and still not play.

And the computer can get stuck trying to read the disc and give a "not responding" message.

You may want to contact Gogamer about a replacement.

I finally got Dawn of Magic to load on my compter last week, meant to let you know sooner, but got side tracked by the game. It is a great RPG and I really like the fact that it is a point and click. I have also ordered their next game, Time of Shadows from Amazon.

As to getting the game on, I just opened up the file on my compter for it, clicked on auto run, it took it's time, but it went on then with no problem. I can recommend this game to anyone who likes RPG's.

Yes, hat is it, that is why I left my office and just let it go and go and finally it started.

I am really enjoying the game, but I cannot find Mullog to kill him, have been through all of the mine, I saw him and then he went out like magic. I think a walk through would help, as I am stuck. If you hear of one will you let me know?
