"It isn't necessary to be rich and famous to be happy. It's only necessary to be rich." Alan Alda ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Airport Security Suggestion.... An engineer (ex-NASA project director) has what I think is the near perfect solution for airport security! *Here's a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners at the airports. Have a booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on you.* *It would be a win-win for everyone, and there would be none of this hub bub about racial profiling and this method would eliminate a long and expensive trial. Justice would be quick and swift..* *Case Closed!* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An Egyptian man is walking through the Cairo bazaar, when a stranger comes up to him and offers to sell Viagra (illegal in Egypt) for 100 Egyptian pounds. "No, not worth it!" "OK, how about 50 Egyptian pounds?" "No, not worth it!" "OK, 20?" "No, not worth it!" "How about 10?" "No, not worth it!" "Listen, these pills cost US $10 each. How can you say they are not worth it?" "Oh, the pills ARE worth it. My wife is not worth it." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A blonde woman competed with a brunette woman and a redheaded woman in the Breast Stroke division of an English Channel swim competition. The brunette came in first, the redhead second. The blonde woman finally reached shore completely exhausted. After being revived with blankets and coffee she remarked, "I don't want to call anybody a cheater, but I think I saw those other two girls use their arms. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Early one morning, a mother went in to wake up her son. "Wake up, son. It's time to go to school!" "But why, Mom? I don't want to go." "Give me two reasons why you don't want to go." "Well, the kids hate me for one, and the teachers hate me also!" "Oh, that's no reason not to go to school. Come on now and get ready." "Give me two reasons why I should go to school." "Well, for one, you're 52 years old. And for another, you're the PRINCIPAL!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A man was speeding down the highway, feeling secure in a gaggle of cars all traveling at the same speed. However, as they passed a speed trap, he got nailed with an infrared speed detector and was pulled over. The officer handed him the citation, received his signature and was about to walk away when the man asked, "Officer, I know I was speeding, but I don't think it's fair - there were plenty of other cars around me who were going just as fast, so why did *I* get the ticket?" "Ever go fishing?" the policeman suddenly asked the man. "Ummm, yeah..." the startled man replied. The officer grinned and added, "Ever catch *all* the fish?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`` Those jokes are funny. Now I know why they call them jokes. Good morning everyboomie. IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!! I'M GOING BACK TO WORK!!! Hi ho Hi ho, It's back to work I go. I really would not be so cheerful about going off to work if I had a Snow White waiting at home. Especially if I had to share her with my six brothers. Oh well......let's hope it's a "short" day. Have a happy day everyone. joe

Midgie, I want to be exercising instead of sitting behind this desk. I promise I'll get my dose in after work in some shape. Blsbet, hope it's a fun house or clears out quickly. Connie, hope you dry out soon. Stay safe! Gerry, have an awesome day! Doc, I am so sorry to hear about Mojo. The poor baby. I hope it isn't serious. How is your sis? Are you feeling more energetic these days? Sue, have a happy day! Are you enjoying your new computer? Darlene, I hope you can relax this weekend after your long week. Venus, hope your day goes quick. Joe, thanks for the chuckles as always. If you find Snow White, can I have the seven dwarves? I can use a hand around the house. It's a weird day here, lots of pow wows going on. Auditors start on Monday. Yea! Ana

Hope you slept well, Darlene! Glad you're enjoying your new computer, Cailyn! Hope everything is okay with Mojo, Karen!!! Have a great day, Gerry! Sorry you are having such bad weather, Connie. Hope you don't have to postpone your plans! See you later, blsbet! Have fun gaming, Midge, if you are able to! Hope your weird day gets less weird, Ana. Are you involved in the pow wows, or just witness to them? Well, the rain has definitely reached us now. It is a rainy, dreary day. That could either mean a lot of customers or hardly any. We will see. Okay, have to finish getting ready for work. See everyone when I get home!

Fantastic Friday ya'll It's grey and rainy here and the doggies are bringing me balls and dropping them at the computer.....Lil Soot is trying to play fetch with Sir Skywalker attached to his back. I'll be taking the wee one to the vet for a rabies shot today and then, hopefully, he'll be cleared hot! Then we just have to get hubby well so we can go parking. Speaking of hubby, he has a dr's appointment this morning so he is home with me for a change. Son closed last night and will be up in a bit and off to pick up the PerBear. I need to finish off daughter's taxes today...she is anxiously awaiting her refund. One of these days she is going to have a simple uncomplicated 1040, but not this year. Mt. St. Laundry is calling, so I will scale it's sides a bit today. Blsbet, what kind of accessories go with mountain climbing gear? We will also have to find another place to store our vegetable oil as our big bottle sprang another "leak" yesterday. Funny how the things started leaking about the time that puppy started hanging out with me in the kitchen Speaking of the wee one, he is beginning to get his Labby coat in. It is really pretty and shiny, but I must admit, I love the soft puppy coat. Must schedule lots of cuddling before it is all covered over. Hubby vacuumed out my puter yesterday and put in a new video card, so hopefully, it'll stay running for a bit now. Nothing makes me want to Joe, you are a hoot. I hope you have a howling good time at work today. Venus, may all your customers be happy and kind today. Darlene, frolicking is just the thing to herald in the weekend. Cailyn, hubby's new computer has Windows 7 and he is liking it too. DocBoomBoom, crossed fingers and prayers for Mo. Is that mean horse gone yet? Gerry, is there a new computer in your future? Connie, we have more storms today. How bout ya'll? Midgy, rain and more rain means stay home and play Ana, are there smoke signals going up yet? Gail, does a short walk mean that the knee rehab is going great?

A quick "Hi" to everyone.
Got extra laundry to do. I went to a concert last nigh, which, by the way was wonderful, went to turn down the bedspread and discovered it was wet. Had to take it off and get the spread in the wash, then remove everything but the mattress cover and put clean bedding on. This at 9:30 last night. We think Cory did it. We cut Amber's toenails first and Cory took off. Must have traumatized him as he knew he was next.
Anyway, Susie is coming over and we are taking my neighbor out to lunch. She is the one who has Crests disease and has a hard time walking right now. She is such a sweetheart and we have become very good friends.
Good luck at the doctor, Soot
Gotta get going.
Have a great day everyone.
Bets

Had to get up early today. Not my idea, it's Spring. Seems the sun is coming up earlier and Little One (the wake up alarm cat) is tuned to yeowl and pound at my bedroom door when he sees sunlight. Oh well. 1/2 isn't too bad.
Had to get going anyway. My neighbor called and wants me to be the go-between with my Lawnmower Boy. She decided to hire him to pull weeds from her little flower bed so I had to call, leave a message with I 'think' his sister and hope he will stop by on his way to school. Didn't wanna give them my phone number. Nope.
So I'm waiting. Then I will drag him over there and see exactly what the job is and explain it to him so hopefully he does a good job and she will hire him for more stuff. She and I just can't get down on the ground anymore to pull weeds or do any of the 'muscle' stuff. So Larry the Lawnmower Boy might have plenty of work if this goes OK.
WARM today. Nice, glorious, heavenly. Gonna go play outside as much as I can. Ahhhhhh.
Wishing you all a nice warm sunny day.

Hi guys, back from the vet.... Sir Skywalker is 21.5 lbs and getting his labby coat and is officially cleared hot for life. Now we just need Big Soot to feel better.
We were thinking about going to Fla. this weekend to see daughter, but we are on Bear duty, so not!
Still rainy and grey and overcast...perfect day to do daughter's taxes.

Lawnmower Boy is next door doing a good job for my neighbor. He's pulling mega grass and weeds from a strip flower bed. And he managed to convince her that he could also plant the new geraniums she bought to go in there. Nice. So he's gonna make a bit more money and both of them are happy. He's such a nice kid, it's good that he now has another 'repeat' customer. She said she would definitely use him again. Awwww. He's like my little project.
COLD again tonight. Gotta fire up the heater or the indoorsies will be complaining.
Been a good day. Ate a lot of chocolate...uhuh.

Howdy everyone! It's Friday evening and I'm exhausted. I went to the park with the dogs early and walked 3 miles and was going to the truck when my usual walker showed up and we walked again. I ended up walking just under 6 miles and the dogs did at least double that. They are exhausted too. Here is Merlin and Shadow and their friends. Merlins girlfriend is Blossom, she is wearing the bandana next to him. Leaving the group behind to go home Lots of playmates. Tomorrow will be cleaning day and Sunday I'm throwing a party for Sam's birthday. It will be a full weekend. Life is good.

Hi Ana. Your walk sounds exhausting. I walked 159 miles at work today............seems like. I love that first picture. Looks like someone was handing out treats, and everyone was waiting. Cute. joe

Nan, is the taxi back yet? Quest, I liked that one too. Do you have plans for the weekend? Darlene, what did dinner turn out to be? Sorta, so glad Lawnmower Boy is doing a good job. Sounds like it is a win win situation! Joe, I didn't walk 159 miles but I ran around with the puppy and chasing the Bear and I am ready to drop! Ana, that place looks like doggie heaven. I'm so jealous! Midgy, what a wonderful plus for them. How ya doing? I finished daughter's taxes today and filed them. Tomorrow I'll take a look at eldest's (which should be a piece of cake) and then next I'll tackle ours.... which will not be a piece of cake. Gotta love tax time

Midgie, my legs never really feel it, but my feet are unhappy from walking in mud boots that far. THat's great that you babysat the kids today. I bet Rob really appreciates it and the kids are thrilled. JOe, they think Mary had treats, but she was getting something else out of her pocket. I took advantage of them ganging up on her for a photo-op. I would hate to walk all day like you do, I don't know how you do it. L4L, I know your boys would love to run with mine. It would be great! There are always tennis balls too. I'm glad SKywalker can go out now. Yippee! Hope soot is feeling better. Nan, I came home and showered with Merlin. He was filthy! He fell through the ice and swam and then rolled in the mud. I bet the fish frys must be really busy with lent. You earned your rest.
