I need some help. I'm almost halfway thru game & assisted some by MaG's w/t. (Really enjoying it I might add).
Just took photo of sword at Ariaga's house. & have the "exposed negative in cassette."
Next chapter says Open Music Box 2 - reading words of major events in painter's life, etc.
Went to the musci box & he says he needs more info. Spoke to painter's daughter & she gave Mr. Hunt the date of her birth.
I then go to the church & am suppose to talk to Father Perez. Trouble is, he won't speak to me, no icon showing for conversation.
Can you please help me someway to speak to him? I'd truly appreciate it!

I looked back through some old threads, and here's what I found from a post by MaG:

From the letter of the father to Carmen: There are 3 important time in the father's life - England, back to Toledo/Carmen and Different Sun.
It is not Carmen's b-day.
Check Different Sun founding: 14 years before this Easter.
After talking to Francisco, talk to Carmen. She will say the priest wants to talk to Hunt.
Go to church [and speak to the priest].

So maybe you need to speak to Francisco again, and then Carmen once more, to trigger the conversation with Father Perez.

That was mentioned in the long letter given to you by Carmen at the beginning of the game, which you should already have read. Don't worry about that - go speak to Francisco and Carmen and see if that does the trick with Perez. Good luck!

Well, went to see Francisco, police man not there, bars are closed to get to cells. Hunt says "better not disturb him now."
Went to everybody, & no one has no dislogue except Francisco's mom asking if there is any further news on her son, Hunt says he'll keep her informed. Painter's daughter is mum also. Looked at music box, don't know what to do there as yet.
Still can't get priest to talk.
Please help me, don't know what to do next.
I eagerly await.

When you talked to a crying Varmen - she gives you a letter: letter of Salvador Diez-Palencia.

In this letter:
Right click and read the letter. Learn the secrets and weaknesses of the father.
Learn about the tower in the church with a gate that can not be opened and what is in the tower.
Learn about and the friendship of the 3 men: Alonso, Carlos and Salvador.
It was 14 years ago before this Easter that the men formed a secret society called Different Sun.
Learn about the disaster that broke the friendship.
Learn about the 3 major periods in Salvador's life: his 15 year stay in England, his return to Toledo with Carmen and the creation of the Different Sun.

Different Sun is that Society if they formed-founded.
Try to read that letter again and see if the other characters as Rushes stated.

I cheated a bit & looked further into the w/t & found the Easter date & entered it into the music box.
I am now happily going to explore the smelly sewer system in the basement of the darkroom!

I think you'll need to speak to the priest later on in the game also, so you may still have to hit that dialogue trigger somehow. Glad you're progressing now, at any rate!

Hi:
Run into a snag again.
I escaped the prison, went up the elevator & down with the other barrel.
Try as I may, I cannot get that last barrel to sit on top left of the other barrel.
It says in the w/t to place the specific barrel gotton from downstairs on the top left. I've managed to move those barrels around so much I do not know which is which. There are 2 solid tops & one with a crack/opening on the top. Does it matter which solid barrel is on top? I've tried every which way & still cannot get the cursor to allow the a solid topped barrel to sit above the one on the plank.
Plewase help!

Never mind, went back to previous save & realized that the barrel in question was the one with the slit/opening was the one that should have been on top. That's the only one I never tried to put on top. Anyway, I am happily on my way. I really like this game!

Of course, it's always at the very end that I get stuck!
I cannot get to win the game Alquerque Board Game. Is anyone out there who has a save on this?
I'm going to try & try myself again & again, but just in case I'd like to know that there is a save out there.
I've seen the strategy on the w/t my Malcolm Schmidt, but I can't seem to follow the rules.

Apparently there's a bypass for the Alquerque game. If you play and lose enough times, it will eventually give you the option to skip to the end. See if that works for you - if not, let us know and hopefully someone here will have a save.
