"It is difficult to live in the present, ridiculous to live in the future, and impossible to live in the past. Nothing is as far away as one minute ago." -- Jim Poor misguided Jim. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hilarious SignsOver a gynecologist's office: "Dr. Jones, at your cervix." On a plumber's truck: "We repair what your husband fixed." On the trucks of a local plumbing company in NE Pennsylvania: "Don't sleep with a drip. Call your plumber." Pizza shop slogan: "7 days without pizza makes one weak." Outside a muffler shop: "No appointment necessary. We hear you coming." In a veterinarian's waiting room: "Be back in 5 minutes. Sit! Stay!" Door of a plastic surgeon's office: "We can help you pick your nose!" On an electrician's truck: "Let us remove your shorts." In a non-smoking area: "If we see smoke, we will assume you are on fire and take appropriate action." On a maternity room door: "Push. Push. Push." At an optometrist's office: "If you don't see what you're looking for, you've come to the right place." In the front yard of a funeral home: "Drive carefully. We'll wait." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A group of blondes in a class at New Mexico State University were given the assignment to measure the height of a flagpole. So they went out to the flagpole with ladders and tape measures, and they're falling off the ladders, dropping the tape measures - the whole thing was just a mess. An engineering student comes along, sees what they're trying to do, walks over, pulls the flagpole out of the ground, lays it flat, measures it from end to end, gives the measurement to one of the blondes and walked away. After the engineer had gone, one blonde turned to another and laughed. "Isn't that just like a dumb man engineer? We're looking for the height and he gives us the length!" ~~~~~~~~~~~ My father, an Army major, was conducting a field test when communications went dead. Immediately, he jumped into a jeep and ordered a sergeant to speed to the command station. When my father and the sergeant ran in, the group cheered their arrival. The commanding officer then stepped forward and shook my father's hand. "Don't congratulate me, sir," my father said modestly as he pointed to his driver. "It was all the sergeant's doing." The commanding officer nodded and turned to the sergeant. "Congratulations," he said. "The major's wife just had a baby girl." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There were 3 construction workers working on a bridge. During lunch break the following happens: The 1st guy says "Spaghetti!!! If I have Spaghetti one more time I'll jump off the bridge and kill myself." The 2nd guy says "Salami!!! If I have Salami one more time I'll jump off the bridge and kill myself too." The 3rd guy says "Turkey!!! If I have Turkey one more time I'll jump off the bridge and kill myself as well." The next day... The 1st guy opens his lunch box. "Oh nooooo! Spaghetti!!!!". So he jumps off the bridge and kills himself. The 2nd guy opens his lunch box "Oh shoot! Salami!!!!" and he too jumps off the bridge and kills himself. The 3rd guy opens his lunch box "Aaaaaaaaarghhh Turkey!!!! and he also jumps off the bridge and kills himself. Later the 1st guy's wife mourns, "If I would have known that he didn't like Spaghetti, I wouldn't have cooked it for him." The 2nd guys Wife says crying, "If I would have known that he hated Salami, I wouldn't have given it to him." The 3rd guys wife says eyes full tears, "I just don't get it, I just don't get it, he always packed his own lunch...." I like spaghetti. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Dogs lie around all day sprawled on the most comfortable piece of furniture in the house. They can hear a package of food opening half a block away, but don't hear you when you're in the same room. They can look dumb and lovable all at the same time. They growl when they are not happy. When you want to play they want to play. When you want to be alone they want to play. They are great at begging. They will love you forever if you rub their tummies. They leave their toys everywhere. They do disgusting things with their mouths and then try to give you a kiss. Conclusion: They're tiny men in little fur coats. I resemble that remark. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Good morning everyboomie. Welcome to the weekend!! I'M GOING BACK TO WORK AGAIN!! Hi ho........just kidding, I'm not that senile. I would love to see the Nile someday though. Traveling to Egypt is just a dream I have. I'm hoping I don't dream so much tonight though. I was pretty tired yesterday. I think I worked too hard. I work today at 6:30. Hi ho, hi ho.............. I'm kidding. I'm not that senile. Have any of you seen the Nile? Have a happy day everybody. joe

Thanks for the openers as always, Joe. I especially like those creative signs. Hope work flies by for you. Wow, that is a busy day, Darlene! Hope all of your plans go well and smoothly. It's Friday night for me, too. And it's definitely time to sleep. I have a mid-shift tomorrow. Was able to talk to the manager I needed to speak with. He didn't have time to train me today, but he will definitely be there tomorrow and will start to train me then. Good thing in more ways than one, too, as a certain co-worker who just thinks he's a manager is starting to drive me crazy. So hopefully I will be in the other department as much as possible during his shift. Okay, off to sleep. Have a wonderful Saturday, everyone!!

Morning to all Boomers. I survived Full-House Friday at the blsbet44 residence. joe Must admit that I had a similar blonde moment Goodnight Darlene. Rest up for Saturday Hi venus. Hope the training goes well. Ask lots of questions now so that you don't have to ask "Manager NOT" guy Ana you going to bed or staying up to play? Hi Cathy. How's everything in Canada? Olympic fever finally slow down? Morning Kaki. Where is connie and cailyn? They didn't carpool with you today? Another mini marathon. Getting things done early so that I can catch up with what I missed on Law and Order. When it was on later at night, I could barely stay awake past 7 pm . Multi-tasking moms should get a week off once a month to recuperate. Since I can't have a week off, I'll settle for a few hours in front of the tv with marathons of my fave shows. And a cuppa. And munchies. Anyone care to join me Plenty room on couch. *blsbet44 preparing coffee and cinnamon rolls for a few hours of crime solving* Hi cailyn. Glad you could make it!
Edited by blsbet44 (03/13/10 06:05 AM) Edit Reason: cailyn showed up :)

Good Morning Boomers, Morning Joe, Ana, Venus, Darlene, Cathy, Gerry, Cailyn, Blsbet, Connie, Soot, Midge and all who enter. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend. Rainy, dreary, dark day. On the other hand a great, cozy, comfortable gaming day.

Enjoy your day, Ana! Have a great Saturday, too, Darlene! Enjoy your Saturday, Cathy! Thanks, Gerry! Have a wonderful day! Glad you got to sleep in late, Cailyn. Enjoy the no gym today! Blsbet, luckily I don't have to worry about "Manager NOT" guy in any other department - he's strictly appliances. I will be sure to ask lots of questions anyway. Have a wonderful time taking a break and watching your favorite shows!! Thanks, Connie! Glad your rain stopped! I think it migrated over here, though. Have fun watching cartoons and reading your books, soot! Hope you're feeling better!! Thanks, Midge! A very to Rob! Have a fabulous Saturday! Have fun gaming, Gail! Well, like Gail, we have a rainy, dreary, dark day. Unfortunately, I can't spend it gaming, though. My fiance and I are having delicious lamb burgers before I leave for work. Then it's off to work. I get off late for a mid-shift today, but it's all okay if I'm training for another department and getting more hours. Okay, off to get ready some more. Have a great Saturday, Boomers!

An early good morning to all. Since the sun is rising earlier and earlier around here, so are the cats. So this morning, the Alarm Cat started his routine a full hour earlier than usual. Yesterday it was only 45 minutes. I guess it's a good thing, since the time changes tonight and I'll actually be getting up that hour earlier according to the clock. Thanks Alarm Cat for getting me into the right time frame. Ugh.
Even the outdoorsies are on the earlier schedule. I wondered why they weren't out there for the last few days. Today, since I was an hour early for the feeding, all of them were there and hungry. I guess they must have thought I forgot this week and just gone away. Sun sure does run the world. Internal clocks are the best.
Gotta go check on the 'loose' dog. Belongs to the same stupid people who have had a succession of roaming dogs for the past 4 years. All of those eventually disappeared (a lot from road kill unfortunately). So now they have this cute cute puppy, who is half grown and I guess can climb the fence or squeeze out. He's been loose non-stop for days now. Running in traffic, now running down my driveway barking at the cats. I'm afraid if he can climb fences he might get into my yard. What to do what to do. Animal control will for sure pick him up (no collar or tags) but I dunno. Gotta ponder this one. Can't talk to the 'owners' cause they are just nasty people. Their next door neighbor adopted one of the old dogs (gave it a great home and it's loved) and sometimes I see the puppy in the yard with it playing like crazy, but then the guy comes out and puts the puppy back in it's own yard. I think it just climbs in and out on it's own. Sigh.
Off I go to watch dogs.

Super Saturday ya'll I'll be off in a bit to run errands and get the groceries as hubby isn't able to do these things until his booboo is better. He is taking a nap as he got up really early with the Bear. I got up to relieve him and he headed back to bed. I told the Per "no" and he promptly threw a fit and slapped me, and that is Never a good idea! I slapped his hand and he went racing downstairs to his dad's room and threw himself at the door screaming. So dad got up. That's ok, I'll have him later today when dad goes to work. It is grey and rainy again and a touch cool, but definitely spring is coming. I'm gonna give winter a few weeks for a final gasp and then I can prune off all the cold damage from the bushes. Darlene, I hope your gaming was fun and relaxing. Are you traveling out of town for the seminar? Venus, sorry things are strained. I hope you get the hours you need without having to work with the irritating co-worker. Ana, have you recovered from your 6 miler yesterday? Cathy, anything fun planned today? Gerry, what's up today? Cailyn, you are so good to go 5 days a week Blsbet, I second that. Let the vacation begin. Connie, anything fun on for the day? to Rob, Midgy. Give him our best and a hug from me Happy gaming Gail!

Been housecleaning on this drizzley dreary day. A good day to stay in. Gonna work on The Hobbit some more. Have you worked on that L4L?
Bill is calling from the basement so gotta go for now. Be back.

Blsbet, yes he does......he has learned to manipulate his parents with tantrums...it doesn't work with me or hubby and he usually doesn't even try it with us. Which game are you playing? Bets, he is 2 1/2. It's amazing to me that while it drove me nuts to hear my kids screaming, I don't have the same reaction with the Bear. If it is only he and I he'll try it for a second and then figure out I'm not paying attention and will stop. I need to clean house. Daughter said she and a friend are coming up for Easter.... that means cleaning cleaning cleaning and cooking cooking cooking Is Bill working on an awesome piece of furniture?

'Morning, again, 'Boomies! Howdy, Cathy, Cailyn, blsbet, Connie, Soot, Midgie, Gail, venus, Sorta, L4L, and Bets! Cailyn, glad you got to sleep in a bit... Midgie, to your Rob! L4L, I've been asked by our church to give this seminar. Many people are still struggling with unemployment, huge financial challenges, foreclosures, bankruptcies. They've asked me to speak on how one determine's if they're suffering from depression, how to maintain self-confidence on a daily basis, how to mentally prepare for a job interview. I'm honored that they've asked me to do this. I'll be presenting Wednesday evening... Off for more coffee....

Hi L4L. Yeah, he is working on an old chest of drawers. He said the nails are handmade and he is trying to figure out how to fix the sliders for some of the drawers. He thinks it may be 1800's.

I am waiting for my chicken to get done on the rotisserie and then it's dinner time and game time. Yippee! Space, my dogs are still slugging from yesterday thanks goodness because they are going to be in till Monday. Hope your guys had fun today. Ana

Oy, what a day, the type I'm not used, to not to mention the dogs. 12 yr. old neighbor stopped by just before noon; she plays a couple games on my pc and is really liking the HOG's. So she was here for about 3 hours. So home she went and about a half hour later she's at the back door with her little brother(4 yrs) and little sister (3 yrs). So set them to swinging on the patios swing while I picked up poo. Of course they then decided they all had to run around and point out the poo piles which was good help. The dogs were very unsure about 2 little people running around but were very well behaved. Finally took them in and sat them down with a cookie then it was time for them to go home.

Ana cleaning and doing laundry is a whole day for most of us. I hope you have some good game time tonight. Trippy that puts a different slant to Easter egg hunting. I'm sure the wee ones were fun, but 3 hours on my computer? Actually my grandnephews play my shooters on my desktop for hours whenever they come down. joe

Well they all arrived in London this morning safe and sound and that's all I know right now. One group had a layover in Amsterdam. Just been a slugging day here. Even Miss Sassy didn't want to do too much walking in the rain. Ana sounds like a busy day there. Enjoy the chicken and the gaming time. Joe hope your day has been good. Trippy what a nice way to spend the day. Kids can be lots of fun at times. Nan

I was making hard boiled eggs and forgot anout them. They boiled for about 25 minutes. Go figure, they turned out perfect. Nan, so happy they are all safely in London. I think we all have London weather to celebrate. What a dreary day. Joe, I'm a bit late, but now I am ready to game. I get there eventually. What are you playing now? TRippy, you had a houseful! That's great they helped you though and you found a way to entertain them. Ana

Don't forget to change your batteries in your smoke detectors and CO2 detectors at the same time. Preying is a good pastime Joe. I am in the last chapter of Bioshock2. I will be sad to finish. Midgie, sorry the weather is bad but glad you had a good day. Sweet dreams. Ana
