Hi smile

When I download games from Gog.Com, I save them to Desktop where they sit as little box shaped "set -ups".

[Some of them are yellow boxes that have a white circle in the centre and some are white boxes with blue trim across the top.]

Can I copy them directly to disk in this "set-up" form or do I have to unzip and/or install them first and then copy the files that are revealed ??

Advice always much appreciated, thanks grin

Cheers.

Mad wave

You just burn the files directly to the CD/DVD.
That way you have the "set" of installation files ready on a DVD smile

Whenever I download my GOG games, I save them in:
C:\_Games\_DOWNLOADS\__Gog.com\BeneathSteelSky\

And within each game folder I make another folder for the Exstras
C:\_Games\_DOWNLOADS\__Gog.com\BeneathSteelSky\Extra\

I'm glad this question came up. I'm looking to start downloading games from Gog, and wanted to put them directly on a DVD.
I'm assuming that once I do that, I can play the games on any computer?

That's the way I understand it to work.

If you're asking whether you can install the games directly off the DVD, then yes you can. You can also copy the installer from the DVD to your other computer and install off the hard drive.

So when I download a game, I would see both an installer and the game file itself. So I best make sure that I install them BOTH to the DVD. I have the discs on order; I can't wait to try it.

Some games from GOG consists of up to 3 files to download.

There's always one with .exe in the end and then 1 or more files with .bin in the end.

All needs to be downloaded and burned to CD/DVD.

I should have said "installer files."
For large games, this will include .bin files as well as the installer .exe.

Do you need to download completely and then burn?

Unless you have a super-super-super-superfast connection and can download the files in less than a minute, I strongly advise that you finish downloading before you burn.

No, not that fast. I'll download first and then burn. Thanks for the help!

Is "copying" to DVD the same thing as "burning" a DVD?
