I need help in Act 2. I thought I borrowed the Birding book from Adelaide for 50 pence. At least it disappeared from the book stand, so I thought it was in inventory. I then returned to Seadrift Island and went back to Poirot's room. I tried to help Linda clean the bird. However, the bird book was not in inventory. Apparently the bird cannot be cleaned until Poirot reads the instructions. So I returned to The Post Office but the book was no longer there. I don't know how to get it back in inventory. I talked to Adelaide but the subject of the bird book didn't come up again. I don't believe I missed anything. I might have done some things out of order (according to the WT)in that I got the bird book before asking about the knitting book. Still it should be in inventory but it's not. Is this a glitch and is there a patch for this game? If no one has an answer I will probably have to go back to my last save which was Leathercombe Bay right before the sea crossing. Thanks.

Please check the scrapbook or other document folders to see if the book is in there. Keep us posted.

When I did this game (actually played it several times over the years) I found that after Poirot sends a telegram for more money, he will receive a telegram and the money. Then the postmistress will ask what you would like to BUY when you go over to the book counter. Then you can say the birding book.
