The card analysis puzzle bugs me.

There seems to be no prior logical clue to hint at the proper combination of interest points on both sides of the card to be selected. Figuring out that there must be a total of only 3 interest points is straightforward. However, beyond this, is this puzzle supposed to be purely trial and error?

You can narrow down to fewer choices by assuming that you must take at least one point of interest from each side of the card and that two points should be taken from the front side of the card (as opposed to the back side) since this is the face that should be of more forensic interest. Even with this grand assumption, this still leaves {5!/(3!x2!)}x{4!/(3!x1!)}=40 combinations to try out [I'm using factorial notation here to write out the full combinatorics).

You may argue that some patterns on the card may be preferred over others when choosing, but this argument is too farfetched even when compared to the above assumption.

Your right i dont think there is any hints for it, so its all trial and error i found the solution pretty fast but its such puzzle that can makes you crazy cause u really want to figure it out yourself instead of just checking a walkthrough.

But this is far from the worst puzzle in the game.

DaveHT, I recognize the factorial notation for combinations of x objects taken y at a time. I started the trial and error process from the top down, though, so I hit the right combination fairly soon since the 3 circles of interest are at or near the top.

Hi Shugz,

Do you have both photocopies taped to the map board, one over the other?

Did you completely filter the sound recording, hear the music and discover which radio station the music was coming from?

Did you speak completely to Dick - he should have mentioned the radio range of 60 miles.

luck

Yeah the map board is illuminated, but only got one copy of the map on the map board. Yes I've done the sound recording and spoken to Dick.

I guess I need another copy of the map then.
Thanks Rushes & Mag.

Yes - there are the map of the offices of the Steamer Company and the map where all those seeds are found. You need both.

OK im stuck again.. It's saying that I need to twist the filler cap (with a wrench) I don't have a wrench no more. I placed the lit cig in the pipe at the top, placed the the pipe back. Placed the fishing line on the lever of the right and the belt round the wheel thing. Everytime i click on the bet it's telling me to tighten up the filler cap..

Did you remove the filler cap from the container you used for the fuel, and replace it on the fuel tank? I've just played that part, and when I replaced the cap I didn't need to tighten it any further.

Hi Disney,

How far have you gotten with the folding? Have you peeked at MaG's walkthrough HERE, it has screenshots of all folding stages.
