A blonde, brunette and a red-head were trapped on a island 20 miles from shore. The red-head started swimming and got tired after 2 miles and turned around and swam back. Then the brunette started to swim and after 7 miles of swimming she turned back. The blonde jumped in and swam 17 miles got tired and turned back.

A Rabbi and a Priest buy a car together and it's being stored at the Priest's house. One day the Rabbi goes over to use the car and he sees him sprinkling water on it. The Rabbi asked, ''What are you doing?'' The Priest responded, ''I'm blessing the car.'' So the Rabbi said ''Okay, since we're doing that....'' and takes out a hacksaw and cuts two inches off the tail pipe.

Very odd "circumstance" there I say. snicker

A Blonde And A Brunette Are Running A Ranch Together In Louisiana. They decide they need a bull to mate with their cows to increase their herd. The brunette takes their life savings of $600 dollars and goes to Texas to buy a bull. She eventually meets with an old cowboy that will sell her a bull. "It's the only one I've got for $599, take it or leave it." She buys the bull and goes to the local telegram office and says, "I'd like to send a telegram to my friend in Louisiana that says: Have found the stud bull for our ranch, bring the trailer."

The man behind the counter tells her, "Telegrams to anywhere in the U.S. are $.75 per word."

She thinks about it for a moment and decides. "I'd like to send one word, please."

"And what word would that be?" inquires the man.

"Comfortable." replies the brunette.

The man asks, "I'm sorry miss, but how is your friend gonna understand this telegram?"

The brunette replies, "My friend is blonde and reads REAL slow..."

Was that slow enough for you Sorta Blonde? wink

Here is a clever woman!

Jennifer's wedding day was fast approaching. Nothing could dampen her excitement - not even her parents' nasty divorce.

Her mother had found the PERFECT dress to wear and would be the best dressed mother-of-the-bride ever!

A week later, Jennifer was horrified to learn that her father's new young wife had bought the exact same dress! Jennifer asked her to exchange it, but she refused. "Absolutely not. I look like a million bucks in this dress, and I'm wearing it," she replied.

Jennifer told her mother who graciously said, "Never mind sweetheart. I'll get another dress. After all, it's your special day."

A few days later, they went shopping and did find another gorgeous dress.

When they stopped for lunch, Jennifer asked her mother, "Are you going to return the other dress? You really don't have another occasion where you could wear it.

Her mother just smiled and replied, "Of course I do, dear. I'm wearing it to the rehearsal dinner!"

The Edward Bulwar Lytton prize is awarded every year to the author of the worst possible opening line of a book. This has been so successful that Penguin now publishes five books worth of entries.

Some recent winners:

10) 'As a scientist, Throckmorton knew that if he were ever to break wind in the sound chamber he would never hear the end of it.'

9) 'Just beyond the Narrows the river widens.'

8) 'With a curvaceous figure that Venus would have envied, a tanned, unblemished oval face framed with lustrous thick brown hair, deep azure-blue eyes fringed with long black lashes, perfect teeth that vied for competition, and a small straight nose, Marilee had a beauty that defied description.'

7) 'Andre, a simple peasant, had only one thing on his mind as he crept along the east wall: 'Andre creep... Andre creep... Andre creep.'

6) 'Stanislaus Smedley, a man always on the cutting edge of narcissism, was about to give his body and soul to a back-alley sex-change surgeon to become the woman he loved.'

5) 'Although Sarah had an abnormal fear of mice, it did not keep her from seeking out a living at a local pet store.'

4) 'Stanley looked quite bored and somewhat detached, but then penguins often do.'

3) 'Like an overripe beefsteak tomato rimmed with cottage cheese, the corpulent remains of Santa Claus lay dead on the hotel floor.'

2) 'Mike Hardware was the kind of private eye who didn't know the meaning of the word 'fear,' a man who could laugh in the face of danger and spit in the eye of death -- in short, a moron with suicidal tendencies.

AND THE BEST OF ALL:

1) 'The sun oozed over the horizon, shoved aside darkness, crept along the greensward, and, with sickly fingers, pushed through the castle window, revealing the pillaged princess, hand at throat, crown asunder, gaping in frenzied horror at the sated, sodden amphibian lying beside her, disbelieving the magnitude of the frog's deception, screaming madly, 'You lied!'

Funny Thoughts

When people say, "I’m so tired it's not even funny" or "my head hurts so much it's not even funny", why would it even be funny in the first place?

Why is there a top line on lined paper if we never use it?

Do coffins have lifetime guarantees?

Why do the numbers on phones go down while the numbers on calculators go up?

wave well, i'm up,but not happy. very tired - ran into the landlord this morning and told him i had to call the cops @ 1am last night. i had gone around and down, and there were 2 propping themselves up and smoking - asked them to keep it down. same thing an hour later, only when i went round the corner, this one was holding my rail and being sick. apparently, they were all soooooo drunk down there, the police parked across the street for over an hour to make sure no one tried to drive. took them until 2am to all fall down, and be quiet. sheesh.

karen - i'll do a little ring work to see how her hock is first - i'll need to shoe for trail - way too many rocks, and i don't want to do that if she can't flex it properly. we shall see.

it's a beautiful sunny day here happydance so i must run and do errands - back later!

everyone have a good time while i'm gone, hear ?! thumbsup

Morning y'all.

Been to the grocery store. On the way, my emission light came on so now I have an appointment with Midas to get it checked out at 12:30 today, so that means lunch a tad bit early today.

Gotta go do a few things. Back later.

is it mm..m...monday? or a full moon? had to call the landlord - no hot water or lint filters in the laundry room- one of the other tenants shut off the fuse to the water heater, "because it takes too long to fill" ,and pitches the filters so he can stuff more clothes in.

i don't seem to be able to get anything done today on schedule !

Aw how cute L4L.

Vet called and said the med was just right for Cory. Won't have to get another blood test for a year.

Got my car fixed and took the dogs for a walk. It is a beautiful day and we are going to take advantage of it and grill out tonight. Tomorrow night Susie and Vince are coming over along with our neighbor up the street and we are going to grill out again.

awwwwwwwwww!

my old golden would never retrieve - in her mind,i threw it away because i didn't want it, but she would pick up "gifts" on a walk and carry them until we got home,so she could give them to "people" - turkey feathers for the cat to play with, for example, or a stick or stone for a guest.

Bets, so glad to hear that Cory's meds are already regulated. Cooking out sounds great! I've got a flank steak that I need to get marinading.

Niteowl, our Seagy looks at the boys like they are nuts...no interest whatsoever in retrieving.

Nan, the table training serves 2 purposes. If he is used to being up on a table, then when we go to the vet's and they put him up, it's not stressful. And most importantly, it's easier for me to reach feet, ears, etc to clean clip check if I don't have to bend down to the floor. Bending has always hurt my head quite a lot, so if I can avoid it, I do.

We will however, be training not to get on the table unless called up rotfl Probably won't work though if the goodies on the tables are too alluring! I am very well trained to keep the yummies put away.

Man, my Monday's are really long!

Just found a BB broke the window in my tenant's house. Dunno from where, but I suspect someone in the apartments is shooting at the feral cats or maybe birds. I sure hope I don't find a missing or injured kitty! Will have to watch tonight. Hate having to go out to spy hoping to see someone with a gun. Ugh. When I tried to call my 'old' glass company who did tons of windows here, found out they had moved or closed. Called about 6 more and found they now do ONLY car windows. Finally got one guy who gave me another number who does do windows. Not punny.

They can't come out till late Monday afternoon and will charge me $110 and a bit more if the glass is bigger than I measured. I'm sure they will find a way to charge more. So expensive! Gonna call my insurance company and see if my Landlord's policy will cover this. Probably not. I think it's probably 'vandalism' and I opted out of that because of the cost. Oh well. Crossing fingers.

Hello everyone..whew, a long day at work which just finished a few minutes ago as I attended an on-line conference in Second Life, which is always fun. Looking forward to a little gaming action tonight in WoW with WOM..grin. But need to do some gardening first. Wishing everyone a great evening..see you all later.

Hello everyone. wave

What a day! shocked

I was busy non stop from the moment I got to work, until I left at 10 after 7.

I've been selling some mowers over the last couple of weeks. 13 in fact, but today I sold 4 of them. bravo

That's the most I've ever sold in one day.

I have to be back at 6:30 in the morning, and since I didn't sleep last night I'll be trying to get to bed pretty soon here. tired

I hope you've all had a great day. yes

Good evening, to all those with a busy day, I can relate and you have my sympathies. The light at the end of the tunnel is that tomorrow is Friday.

I just have to fold clothes and my chores are done, the dogs are run, dinner is cooked and I declare it's gametime. I have not had nearly enough this week and Vooju Island is in need of my help. lol

JOe, congrats on your sales, that'll make for a nice paycheck. bravo

soot, having fun WoWing!

Sorta, so sorry about the window. I hope that it's covered.

Nan, you look different! yay Are you guys calling for snow this weekend too?

niteowl, are you off work now? Did you have a nice nap?

okay, I am going to game before it gets too late again. be back in a bit.

Joe, grats on the selling! You must be their top seller wave

Hubby brought home BarBQue from the restaurant that burned 2 years ago. It doesn't seem that long, but that is what the paper said, so I'll not argue! We're having a stellar week...hot and sour soup last night from our favorite Chinese place and BBQ tonight.

Daughter called and boy are they working her. She is tired, but that is a good thing.

Son is sick sick sick and at work closing. Exdil is bringing the kids at 8 in the morning. I told him to call her and tell her to bring them later as I don't plan to be up at 8.

Now off to clean up the kitchen. Sleep well all sleep
