A classic older game(Benoit Sokal-1999) well worth a re-play after I last played it 8 years ago-works great with no tweaking on WIN XP!
Agree most definitely that it deserves to be in the GB Hall of Fame.

You are a journalist trying to find out what a mysterious old archeologist Prof. Valembois has been up to-you track him down but all you have to go by is his extensively illustrated journal-which contains many clues about what to do in the game. You find a strange giant egg and the professor's invention-a handy all purpose vehicle-a "Hydrofloat"-I wish I had onelol It sails, floats, flys, and has a handy winch that hooks onto things.Your journey takes you into the tropical South American country of "Amerzone" via a jungly river(very like the Amazon tributaries of Peru and Equador)Great atmosphere with imaginary animals-the "Porkopotomous"for one-and a giraffe critter, which you get to ride.

The graphics are a little outdated but the story is interesting and easy to follow. Point and click with 360 degree vis.The puzzles make sense and serve to move the story along. My only complaint is sometimes it is hard to find things that need to be picked up in dark, shadowy places. This game would be a good introduction to adv. games for a young person and very family friendly.

A game that is well deserved to be on many favorites lists thumbsup

Hi bigmamma1 -- I loved playing this game! I shudder to think how many years ago it was when I played it though. lol I think in many ways it was ahead of its time.

Hi,
Isn't this a great game? It's one of the reasons I still have a couple of older towers, around so I can play the olders games without a big hassel.
The animals are really interesting.
You'll like BS II, I keep an BS I installed on one of my computers to use as a casual game.
I like George, he's still funny.

ssgamer-
You inspired me to fire up my old WIN 98 "puter and it works just fine. Now I have a treasure trove of old games that I BAAGed before having to upgrade and never had a chance to play.
I did play Amerzone on my XP machine and it worked fine. The graphics are a little grainy but it really is a nice story.
