"He was a cowboy, mister, and he loved the land. He loved it so much he made a woman out of dirt and married her. But when he kissed her, she disintegrated. Later, at the funeral, when the preacher said, 'Dust to dust,' some people laughed, and the cowboy shot them. At his hanging, he told the others, 'I'll be waiting for you in heaven---with a gun.'" Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Having been married ten years and still living in an apartment, the wife would often complain about anything, as she was tired of saving every penny to buy a "dream home". Trying to placate her, the husband found a new apartment, within their budget. However, after the first week, she began complaining again. "Joel," she said, "I don't like this place at all. There are no curtains in the bathroom. The neighbors can see me every time I take a bath." "Don't worry." replied her husband. "If the neighbors do see you, they'll buy you curtains." Joel's family request that you donate to a charity of your choice, rather than send flowers for his funeral. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the motor of a Harley motorcycle when he spotted a well-known heart surgeon in his shop. The surgeon was there waiting for the service manager to come take a look at his bike when the mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hey, Doc, can I ask you a question?" The surgeon, a bit surprised, walked over to where the mechanic was working on the motorcycle. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag, and asked, "So, Doc, look at this engine. I open its heart, take valves out, fix 'em, put 'em back in, and when I finish, it works just like new. So how come I get such a small salary and you get the really big bucks, when you and I are doing basically the same work?" The surgeon paused, smiled, leaned over, and whispered to the mechanic, "Try doing it with the engine running." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet. "My dog's cross eyed. Is there anything you can do for him?" "Well," says the vet, "let's have a look at him" So he picks the dog up and examines his eyes, then checks his teeth. Finally, he says "I'm going to have to put him down." "What? Because he's cross-eyed?" "No, because he's really heavy" He ain't heavy, he's my Rotter. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The old man had died. A wonderful funeral was in progress and the country preacher talked at length of the good traits of the deceased, what an honest man he was, and what a loving husband and kind father he was. Finally, the widow leaned over and whispered to one of her children, "Go up there and take a look in the coffin and see if that's your pa." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Morality Test This test only has one question but it's a very important one. By giving an honest answer you will discover where you stand morally. The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation in which you will have to make a decision. Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous. Please scroll down slowly and consider each line. You are in Florida. Miami, to be exact. There is chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with severe flooding. This is a flood of biblical proportions. You are a photojournalist working for a major newspaper. You're caught in the middle of this great disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless. You're trying to make a career out of shooting photos. There are houses and people swirling around you. Some are even disappearing under the water. Nature is showing all of its destructive fury. You see a woman in the water. She is fighting for her life, trying not to be taken away with the debris. You move closer . . somehow the woman looks familiar. Suddenly you know who it is . . It's Hillary Rodham Clinton! At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take her under, forever. You have two options: You can save her, or you can take the most dramatic photos of your life. So, you can save the life of Hillary Clinton, or you can shoot a Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the death of one of the world's most powerful women. Here's the question and please give an honest answer: Would you select color film or would you rather go with the classic black and white? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Good morning everybody. IT'S FRIDAY!!!!! WOO HOO!!! I just love that little pink pom pom girl. She's way too young for me, but she sure is cute. I think I just flunked my morality test. Probably flunked the sanity one too. Next time I promise to think real hard before I speak. Anyway I hope you all have a happy Friday. You all are about to graduate to the weekend, just like I told you you would. Ain't that spiffy? joe

Morning to all Boomers! It's Friday and very quiet at the blsbet44 house! Hope you all have a great day! I'm going to enjoy the quiet whilst I can! In a few hours, everyone will be home and I will have to find a place to hide Maybe I'll put up a sign "blsbet44 has gone fishing. Socks are in the drawer. Food is in the fridge. Snacks are in the cupboard. Need more help? Press F1 now" *blsbet44 heading out with thermos and picnic lunch, poles, lures, and bait. Styling in her fishing hat and tear drop pearl earrings with matching diamond and pearl coronet* As we say in GB land: Skoooosh...

Good morning Joe, DArlene, Midgie, Soot, Gail, Blsbet, Connie, Gerry, Sue, Doc, Andrea and Niteowl. I've already been on an early roadtrip and have two more to go in an hour or so when the village hall opens up. That should make my day go fast. Hubby has a 4 day weekend so I left him the park passes in hopes he'll run the dogs for me. I'm feeling exceptionally lazy and looking forward to going home and being a slug. Tomorrow I'm going to the Pet Expo to play with all the exotic pets. I miss my ferrets so I can get a dose of loving there to hold me over. Have a happy day everyone! Ana

Oh Joe, those jokes are toooo funny. I must remember NOT to drink too much iced tea before reading.
It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood. Birds singing, grass CUT (by Lawnmower Boy yesterday, I can't resist him). Cats playing in the weeds.
Luckily, after scheduling a glass guy to fix the tenant's broken window (can't come till Monday) I called another place and they can come today for about the same price. I'm opting for today since I'm paranoid about that glass falling and it will be a much bigger mess then. Called the first company and they KNEW who I was when I just said, Monday appointment. Hummmmmm. Strange, maybe they don't get much single business? Or it's only one guy who works or something. Oh well. I was hoping maybe he would say he could come out today (competition), but he just said thanks for calling. In any case, window will be fixed, it's deductible on my income tax as a rental expense so it's not all bad. And I will feel better about the 'danger'. Going out now with my metal detector to try to locate that BB just for fun. Insurance unfortunately I found has a $500. deductible so it's a no go there.

Must take after gramma. Andrea have a good day at work. Sorta glad you found someone to come and do the window today for ya!! Enjoy the outdoors. Oh Darlene nice BAAG!!! Aha! Window fixing guy arrived way early. I missed the office calling me to say he was on his way cause I was down at the broken window taking pictures and trying to find the errant BB. So just as I got to my back door, the front bell rang and it was the fixer. Wheeeee. Got the window fixed, cost me $127. Ugh. Normal I guess given the quotes from some other places. FOUND the BB just before he got here. I was using my metal detector with no luck, but as I turned around and looked in a direct line from the break, there sitting in plain sight was a WHITE plastic BB. Uhhuh. Had to look it up on the net to see if they even made plastic ones and found the exact size and color. Oh well, now I know what hit the window and approximately where it was from since the bounce back was straight. Yup, had to be probably from the balcony of the house one lot over. I'm gonna watch and listen for a few days to see if any more BB's appear. Hope not. Windows are expensive, BUT it's the first time in years that there has been a really clean window in that house.

Joe you get a huge for the mechanic and the morality test jokes. I am really becoming spoiled by this nice weather. Nan, please do not use the S word again. Like Nan said it is supposed to be colder here by Monday so I am heading out to enjoy it while I can. Enjoy your weekend Boomers.

Hello everybody. It was a warm & windy day here, and a busy one at work. I sold 2 more mowers today. Now I'm off for my "weekend off" and IT'S SUPPOSED TO SNOW!!!!!! All weekend is supposed to be wet and slushy. That means no working out in the yard. Ever since I got home I've been struggling to keep my eyes open. I hope everyone here had a great day. joe

wow! what a crazy day ! but beatiful - 70 degrees1 i did some weeding and bagged some errant leaves, then took a nice long walk. lots of stuff peeking up in my and others' gardens. thought to enjoy it,as rain predicted for sun. and mon. on the down side, the car finally made it home, but needs some thing that costs 600$ ! thank gosh it can wait, and at least it passed emissions ! also ,i had the windows open and couldn't figure out what smelled so awful. turns out the house next door got bought ,they are doing major renovation, and took out part of the back walls - because of the dog poop inside !ewwwwww! andrea, nan - you can come w/kazoos ,drums, and the saxophone - preferably some morning they are hung over good ! i've decided on klog dancing instead of tap, by the way to top it off,the phones went dead during the afternoon, and they just finished working on the poles. i am happy, tho' because they didn't think it would be fixed till tomorrow. did i mention that i have to go to work mon. for a 3 hour inservice ( my day off) ? but i'm happy about that ,too,'cos now i won't have to drive to hartford for it next week !! sorta - glad ya got the window fixed jennyp - good idea,i could use a glass of grape myself ! nan - drive safe! be back ,need to update some stuff...

Evening; 2 days of more bricking and so close to being done but now seems like it's taking forever to finish a 5x2 foot area. Had to figure out a way to work around a bush.
Hope it's a great Friday for all.

Good evening boomies! I can't begin to tell you how glad I am it's Friday. The weeks seem to be getting longer and busier. Came home, took the dogs to the park (it was 66 degrees out) and then went and got a haircut. Made dinner, on my 3rd load of wash, cleaned the dog blankets out of the car, vacuumed it and washed the windows and scrubbed the inside and now I am ready to game or visit the couch. I'm afraid of the couch, I fall asleep everytime I lay down on it. Is everyone enjoying their evening? Ana

Stay away from the couch Ana! Don't even go near it. I got too close to mine and got sucked down for the count. I was so sleepy. Now I've gotta get a late shower. How is everyone doing? Darlene 77 degrees? That's pretty warm. We got up to 70. joe

Hey, sweet 'Boomies! Been playing Treasure Seekers, Mama came in, noticed I was playing, and joined me in the game. She loved it! She just went back to her 48 Hours: Hard Evidence, but asked when we can play again... Ana, I agree with Joe! Step away from the couch! Whatcha gamin'? 'Night, Midgie! Yep, Joe! 77. Amazing, eh? Are you Preying tonight?

Sadly Joe, no time for the couch yet. The day just keeps moving along. Doesn't look like gaming is in the cards for tonight but I have all weekend. It's 41 degrees now and going down. I was just getting used to the tease of Spring this week. Ana

Well the taxi is home and parked and everybody is safe and sound. I see we made it to 45 but that must have been when I was inside working. The wind has died down and it is about 30 now. Ana sounds like a nice Spring day there. Glad ya made it to the park and the hair cut. Hope the chores are all done now and ya didn't get sucked into the couch! Joe sorry the couch got ya after work. Congrats on the mower sales. Sorry about the not so nice weather for your weekend. Maybe they will be wrong. Darlene that is good that your mom seemed to have a good time with the game. And.....another one takes the bait. Have a nice sleep in tomorrow. Jenny glad ya got the shopping all done today. Hope you enjoyed the grape juice. Sleep well and pleasant dreams! Space hope the weather will hold for your weekend. Niteowl I love the clog idea. Nan
