I am not planning on writing one. The developer has a walkthrough for sale. Please post if you have any questions, please post and those that are playing might help you.

Is this the turning on of the projector?

If so:
- open the back of the compartment. See a cylindrical protrusion.
- Place the device found in the ticket booth on the cylinder thing. This opens the progector.
- Now you will see uellow tiles.
----Arrange the tiles to make a solid black line from lower left corner to upper right. luck

No I'm sorry MaG. It's the work schedule puzzle with the names of the employees, their duties, etc. I have some hints from the items in the room, but can't complete it. I also have a final solution by Len green, but I would like some explanation. Thanks again.

This puzzle takes 3 pages of explanation in the companion book. Since I have not played the game yet, I can't give you the synopsis.
What I can get is you have to remember the clues and enter them in that chart.
Try it and see from the clues.

Its a logic puzzle, and the explanation does indeed take a long time.
There is a folder in the office that tells you about logic puzzles and how to use the grid to plot all the connections. That should help if you have never done one. It steps you through all the reasoning involved in an actula puzzle.

Thanks Rushes. I can't even find the cupboard in the projection room that has a book inside explaining these types of puzzles. All I see is a cabinet, which I can't get into.

Hi FJT,

MaG is referring to the game's companion guide/walkthrough. It's not an object in the game. smile

The binder that will teach you how to solve the slider puzzle is NOT found in a cabinet in the projection room. It is found in the theater's office, which is backstage. On the desk in the office is a blue binder. This has the info you need. smile

Hi FJT,

Yes, the method you should use to solve the work schedule logic puzzle is found in a blue binder in the theater office. It teaches you how to solve logic puzzles.

Alternatively, you can look at this link, which also explains the process, in a method similar to the binder in the game: http://www.pennydellpuzzles.com/upload/documents/How%20to%20Solve%20Logic%20Problems.pdf

Thank you CBSection31. I'll try attacking that puzzle again. Are you playing the game, by the way? And if you are, did you happen to save it at the completion of that puzzle, just in case I need a saved game from you, if you would be so gracious to send me one.

Thanks again,

I don't have a save game FJT but I can give you the answer to the puzzle if you really get stuck.
That might be preferable - a save game might have solved other things you haven't yet done.

Hi flotsam. That would be great. I'll look forward to receiving it from you. Also, did you happen to solve that "You must have hope" puzzle. I got almost all the way through it, but the vowel commands and the way it was phrased kind of threw me. Is there a logical saying at the end of this?

Thanks again,

It definitely is challenging, I admit. smile

I wanted to make a game that was close in style (and difficulty) to games from the early and mid-90s, like Myst and The 7th Guest.

Don't hesitate to ask if you need more help! smile

FJT, there is an easy way round this puzzle - there is a knobby looking thing about half way down the panel on the left side before you enter the close up of the puzzle. Click that and the puzzle is bypassed.
Given you are watching CB, what made you decide which puzzles you could bypass and which you couldn't??

I don't know whether CBSection31 will allow it, or even be upset, if so please ignore the following.

There uis a walkthrough of the demo **ONLY**which happens to contain the full solution of that very difficult puzzle.
Just the solution but not the extended logic behind the solution.

P.S.
In possible apology to the Developer:
As he is aeware, and with his permission I understand, the Demo walkthrough was posted well before any mention was made of an official walkthrough-guide of the whole game - in fact it wasposted and open to everybody since the full game had not been finished or released.

Thanx MaG. happydance

It might be a bit difficult to reproduce the solution since I think that it's a bit complicated.
But I imagine that it can be explained by the Developer or somebody else - as suggested.

flotsom - Originally, that slider puzzle was supposed to be a lot more difficult. In addition to sliding the pieces, the pieces also had to be rotated. Essentially, the original point was to make a puzzle that was nearly impossible to solve, and so the solution was to discover that you can bypass the puzzle.

Unfortunately, the rotating part of the puzzle would simply not work with Windows 7, so I had to disable rotation.

In other words, the whole point of that puzzle was that you were supposed to figure out you aren't meant to solve it!

I decided to include bypasses on a few of the other puzzles because of their difficulty level. smile

----------

harhan3 - No worries! Len had my permission to write that demo walkthrough. I don't mind you posting it at all! smile

Line 15 should read:
CANNOTAIOVDTFADE

Line 16: Swap the tenth letter and the I, then replace the second to last letter with T, then remove the letter after the remaining D.

The walkthrough states that you can unlock this puzzle now but does not have any reason to. I found it in the next chapter.

If you want to do it: Place the 4 pegs in the trapdoor so that all lines are lit. A peg will light up all the lines connected to it.

Hi FJT,

Let' see...I'm not sure which shards you have already, so I'll just list places to check to find all of them:

- The work schedule puzzle (you definitely got this one)

- The chest backstage (I think you got this)

- The scale on the counter in the lobby

- The slider puzzle in the office

- The cash register in the lobby

- The men's restroom floor tile puzzle

Thanks MaG. I did this and nothing happened.

Hi, FJT. I DID get the shard from the scale. First use the Scizzors(in inventory) with the bag of candy to get an OPEN bag of candy. Then, in CLOSEUP view of the scale use the open bag of candy on the scale. Then in the CLOSEUP view of the scale,REMOVE the cany from the scale. Then, also in CLOSEUP view of the scale,
drag the CUP from inventory onto the far right of the screen. Then use the open bag of candy on the CUP. Then use the (now partially empty) bag (from inventory) and drag it onto the scale. A drawer on the right side of the scale will open. Click on it to get the shard.
I reccomend that you purchase the "Companion"
book from Chris's website. It has all of the solutions to every puzzle in the game.
By the way, I DON'T get a commission! smile

Not necessarily, no. It simply means that a line is pointing at the arrows. The key to this puzzle is to ensure not only that a single line connects the lower-left arrow to the upper-right, but also that the line goes through every tile.

I can describe the picture in the walkthrough - hopefully it will be clear.

You need to have a solid line from bottom left arrow to top right.

The tile beside the bottom left arrow has 3 lines: one from arrow to center, one from center going down and one from center to diagonal to top right corner.

The tile at top right arrow has 3 lines: from arrow to center, from arrow to down and one from center/diagonal to bottom right.

If you need more tiles, tell me where you want it located.

Thanks MaG. I had the lower left one right. I'll recheck what I had on the upper right. I'm wondering if one of the hint cards that I got from the arcade is depicting this.

-----------
Wow, I just can't get this!! Let's try another one. Labelling the rows from top, middle , and bottom, and left to right 1,2,3, and 4, where does the tile that is all white with a center horizontal line go, and does the other white tile go adjacent to it?

The horizontal line ia bottom 3.
I'm not sure which one is the white tile you're mentioning but try placing it at top left -1.

Does anyone know where to buy the companion for the Filmmaker? I've already ordered the game but didn't know there was a manual to go with it.

I'm stuck, I would purchase the "companion" but it will take ages to arrive and I so badly want to play on. Fuzzie doesn't want my sapphire, Red dress, necklace and red wig with perfume isn't quite right I have no idea what I should be aiming for in the roman numeral tile puzzle and I don' t know what to do with the items I have collected that are connected to the "souls". Can someone get me moving again or is there a way to purchase and download the guide?

Hi cris53,

Here are a few tips for you that should help you to move forward:

- Did you get inside of Fuzzie Village yet? If not, there's something hidden in the theater that you'll need to give the Fuzzie guarding the entrance. There's a clue to where this item is on a scrap of paper in the theater office safe.

- If you did get into the village yet, then one of the Fuzzies will take the sapphire--you just have to find which one!

- Did you find the revolver in the safe in the detective's office? Try using that on the dress after putting everything else together.

Good luck! smile

How do you open the safe in the detective's office?

Hi KBH,

In the detective's file cabinet is a typed page on the case he's working on. Along with the typed page is a hand-written smaller page. Read this CAREFULLY, and you might notice two words are being used over and over again, which might explain how to open the safe. smile

welcome KBH,

The clue to the detective's safe is the handwritten note attached to the case document.

Think how a safe is opened and correlate that to the note. luck

Cris53,

The answer to the donkey riddle will ending up being one word made of four parts you have to pull from the puzzle.

Two donkeys standing in a straight line, one in front the other behind - The first two parts of the answer will be another word for "donkey"

Third part - Behind the second one stands "I".

Fourth part - A "nation" exists behind me.

Good luck!

Hey Rushes, when you've got another 4 year old, send him/her my way. Still no idea. I thought "assassin" but Fuzzie says "NO!"

I just finished playing "The Filmmaker". It was a fantastic gaming experience for me. I couldn't have done it without Chris's Companion Guide. It was SO well written. I tried ALL of the "easter eggs" that were decribed in the Companion Guide, and they all "worked". Kudos to Chris for this exciting game. The graphics and the sounds were AWESOME as was the Timed ending, which took me a little while to figure out. WAY TO GO, CHRIS!

While waiting for my "companion" I find I can't leave this game alone! I think I'm looking for a book to go with my sword (to kill creature)and I did manage the roman numeral tile puzzle but it only seemed to unlock a door I had access to anyway. "Push the runes?" Where? Will that allow me entry into the door with 11+111? Help me please. I'm going nuts!

Hi cris53,

The Count film contains, arguably, the hardest puzzles in the game. The trick to opening that door with the II+III is to go into the room with the three puzzles in it. Puzzle I unlocks puzzle II by setting the tiles to "II". Solve puzzle II, then go back to puzzle I and unlock puzzle III by setting the tiles to "III". Solve puzzle III, then go back to puzzle I and set the tiles to "IV" to allow you to leave the room. Now that locked door should be open!

The T's have to fit into the smaller box within the larger one. If you rotate them a certain way and position them in a certain place, then they will fit. smile

Sounds painful. wink Place the first T with the tail fitting at the bottom left corner. Now rotate clockwise until the right-side of the T bar touches the base of the square. Now the first T is correctly placed. Align the other Ts in exactly the same way on the three remaining sides of the square.

Hope that's clear!

Hi Bernd,

Do you have the "unknown gem" in your inventory? If so, you can leave Fuzzieland for now and return later if you have things to do elsewhere in the game. The fountain will help you to get rid of the fuzzies - the walkthrough says:

Click to reveal..
If you tried talking to Heather earlier, you might remember her asking you to get rid of the fuzzies by any means necessary - even if it means blowing them up.

So here's where I'm at...

The Count:
- I've killed the vampire, but I have only one key to the chest, which still doesn't open
- I have not figured out how to save the damsel in distress (the answer is in that locked chest maybe?)

PrimalAtmosfear:
- I've been in the cabin, listened to the radio until there's no more to hear, read the journal, seen the axe outside
- I've found the head on the post
- I've found the stake (obviously, or I couldn't have killed the vampire)
- I've been eaten by the monster so many times I've lost count

I've also seen the hint from the fortune teller that says, "staffs should be examined closely." But I haven't found any "staff."

So, I need to open that chest, and I need to find a "staff," and I need to figure out how to kill the monster. But I'm stuck. Can anyone give me a hint on any one of these without giving things away completely?

How do you turn on the projector. I've found the cylindrical protrusion from the ticket booth and completed the tile puzzle??? Now what? Help!
How do I get inside Fuzzie Village?
Where is the brick under stage?

To turn on the projector, you solve the yellow tiles puzzle.
Fuzzieville is one of the films you place on turned on projector.
For the brick, at the basement; climb the ladder. There's a loose brick at left side of the screen.

Sam,

I am relying on a walkthrough. Answers by someone that played it is better than what I read. I don't know the nuance of the game.
Please keep on helping us. We appreciate it.

I will repost you great answer.

To turn on the projector, you'll need to use a handle on the cylindrical protrusion. That handle can be found in the ticket booth (go out the front lobby door, which you need a key for).

The brick under the stage is on the left wall (on your left as you're standing on the ladder going up to the trapdoor). You'll need what's behind the brick to get into the Fuzzie village. But first you'll have to solve the projector puzzle. Read through the earlier pages in this thread for help on solving that.

Good luck!

Okay, I'll keep posting when I think I can help.

michele rose - Once you've solved the projector puzzle, to start a film rolling you need to place it on the top part of the projector. I found it easiest to go forward to the window then click up and left. Once you've placed the film on the projector, go back to the window and click the 3D glasses on it. After a short delay, the film will start.

This is really turning out to be a fun game, so hat's off to CB for a great job. It's definitely been worth the purchase price.

hi,
I would appreciate Your help at the following scenes:

PRIMAL
The monster always kills me. I've visited the cabin, read the book and heard all the radio messages. I tried the sword at different points on the monster with no success. I always get the message "that's not bad but You need more information." Do I need that ancient message, somebody mentioned in a post above? If yes - where to find it? I searched everywhere (?) in that film but can't find that document.

FUZZIES
can't get the answer for the riddle beginning with "I am the longest word there is..."

Thanks in advance for Your help

Heh, you're welcome...but you won't be thanking me for long. Those Fuzzies are annoying. A few minutes exposure to them (and the relentless accompanying oompa loompa music) had me wanting to drop-kick every last one of the furry little snots. One of the most satisfying moments in the game is the delightful way you get to leave Fuzzieville.

The way it works is that certain Fuzzies only accept certain jewels before they'll give you a riddle to solve. Then, if you solve the riddle correctly, you get another jewel to give to another Fuzzie in exchange for another riddle, and so on.

However, not all of the jewels are in Fuzzieland. In addition to the one behind the brick, there's one in another film. So you'll have to leave Fuzzieland to find it.

Hope that's enough to get you going again!

I need a little help in HELL.
I switched the orange/brown board. Now Im stuck with the white and green boards. Blue + yellow = green doesn't work. And the combination 'red + green + blue' = white doesn't work either.
I need a little push in the right direction.
Thanks in advance

brig77 - Those confused me, too, until I realized that the white board is actually a very light Pink. And the green board can only be dropped by using ALL of the colors that are in green: blue, yellow...and green.

great, thanks!
If I try to look after light pink: yes, it's definitely light pink ! ;=)
And 'blue + yellow + green' ... wow - tricky.
thanks a lot.

I'm stuck in Hell, at the demon. I manage to hit it in the mouth with the staff, which brings up Claude saying, "you shall not pass...well okay go ahead and pass." But immediately after that, I'm back on the bridge and have to hit the demon all over again. Is it a timing thing? Or is it where you hit the demon? Or is there some action I can take when Claude says his thing?

Having a heck of s time with Count puzzle II. Any logic to this minesweep or is it based on luck? I read the help, but my mental telepathy seems to seek out the skull. Help, if you can.

From the walkthrough:
The key is to logically deduce which squares contain skulls by looking at the numbers in surrounding spaces.

Overall, there's more logic than luck to this type of puzzle, though you may occasionally have to guess. But guessing is dangerous, as you've found out.

Here's an example of the way the logic works....

Let's say that you've uncovered four squares in the lower-right corner of the board, and they show up as two 1's, a 2, and an empty square, like this:

. _____ _____ _____
|.........|.........|.........|
|....C...|....D...|....E...|
|_____|_____|_____|
|.........|.........|.........|
|....B...|....2...|....1....|
|_____|_____|_____|
|.........|.........|.........|
|....A...|....1...|empty.|
|_____|_____|_____|

Squares A through E are unknown (unclicked).

The number 1 in the right hand column means that only one bomb exists in the squares surrounding that one.
So, you know there's a bomb in either square D or E.

The number 1 in the middle column means that only one bomb exists in the squares surrounding that one.
So, you know there's a bomb in either square A or B.

The number 2 in the middle column means that there are two bombs in the squares surrounding that one.
Since you know that one of those two bombs has to be in D or E, and that the other bomb has to be in A or B, then it's safe to uncover (click on) square C.

As you uncover more squares with numbers, you should eventually be able to deduce where the other bombs are.

Note: It's useful to right click on a square that you know for sure is a bomb. That will mark it with a skull so you remember where it is.
You can also right-click a second time and mark the square with a question mark, if you're still unsure whether there's a bomb there.
Right-clicking a third time clears your markers.

(sorry about the bad quality of the graphic)

Michele,

I wish I had caught you sooner--there's an easier way of solving this puzzle, as well. If you look to the left of the minesweeper puzzle (before clicking on it to begin the puzzle), you'll see a small white dot surrounded by black on the wall. Click on this and you bypass the puzzle entirely. smile

While waiting for expert help, here's some notes from the wt:

1. After identifying the evil runes - then push those evil runes' nuttons only.
2. The Riii, Li, Rii is the clue for another puzzle later - so remember it. L mean left, R means right. The i's are numbers.

There is a book that describes how to tell if a rune is good or evil. This book is on the right wall in the puzzle room. It's important that you read these rules carefully. Make sure you turn the page in the book, because the next two pages give you examples of how the rules apply.

What I did was draw each rune on a piece of paper and then apply each rule to them, one at a time. The tricky part is that you may decide a rune is evil after you've applied the first rule, but by the time you get to the last rule, it has changed several times between good and evil.

The other tricky bit is that, after all your work figuring out which runes are good and which are evil, there's a final clue (right before you push the runes) that tells you to make them the opposite of what you figured them out to be. Or something like that. Sorry, I've already forgotten what the clue said, and I don't have a saved game to go back to refresh my memory. Maybe someone else here can fill in the details on that?

The Riii, Li, Rii is a clue for opening the chest. You probably noticed the locked chest as you leave the Count's chamber. If not, just keep your eyes open as you walk away from the coffin toward the door...the chest is on the floor to the right of the door. Once you find the key to that chest, you need to turn it right and left the number of times in the clue. (Inside that chest is the book that gives you the information needed to kill the monster in Primal).

Good Luck!

hi
i've recently started this game, and it's quite challenging and enjoyable.

Currently I've The Count and the Atmosfear to finish. However, I've a more basic question: What do I do with the souls that I freed?

I have Eric's soul in a perfume bottle, but I don't know what to do with it? And it seems there's no other way to 'store' the other souls I freed...

Thanks in advance!

Hi polmed, welcome to GameBoomers.

You don't necessarily need more bottles to store other souls. Use an appropriate item which had a close attachment or connection with that soul -- it doesn't have to be a container. You'll probably find out what to do with all the souls closer to the end of the game. luck

Thanks Rushes, now i have 2 souls in hand.

I am really stuck on Primal and the Count

Where is the stake in Primal so I can kill the vampire, which in turn gives me clue on how to kill the beast in Primal?

I pushed down the evil symbols, and i have a garlic from fuzzie village. I got the sword from basement in theater. I read the notes and no more news cast is available from the radio.

And what can i use to capture the soul in fuzzie village? I've tried the glove, the money stack (for manager?), the flashlight, the necklace, but nothing works

Thx in advance

At the point of hearing the growling sound -- turn around, then F, L, F, L, F, R, F, L, F, F, R, F, R, F, L, F. Pick up plank/stake.

To capture the soul in Fuzzieville, think what mattered most to Heather.

Hi Rachel,

Yes, that clue isn't very clear.

Remove the first E altogether. Then replace the two Us with I and O.

Sounds as though you're doing good so far!

hey gusta,

There are total of 4 evil symbols u need to push down. If it's done correctly, then the light will shine through the roof.

And then you need to first put the garlic necklace on the vampire, then use the stack to kill him

Giovanna,

This is an adventure puzzle game. More puzzles with a story.

welcome polipoliyu,

I combined your 2 posts in 2 threads.
Please use one thread only and also use the edit button to add any information when no one posted after you. It helps us follow your gameplay. Gracias.

Donkey puzzle:
Is this the 2 donkeys riddle?
I am copying from the solution book since I have not played the game.
Click to reveal..
The answer is Assassination
Another word for donkey is ass.
2 donkeys if you place in a straight line is assass.
Behind the second one stands an i. So bow it is assassi.
A whole nation is behind me - which is I. So it becomes assassination.

Stake:
I cannot find a reference to this unless it is the wooden plank that you get when you walked in the forest. Maybe that is the stake.

The film Aliens from Mars contains the clues needed to solve the riddle. The clues can be found on the monitor that lists descriptions of different types of gemstones. Also note that ambrosia is often known as nectar of the gods.

I cannot fugure out the Runes puzzle. I have tried everything I can think of but nothing seems to work. I know about the bad and good runes and how to tell them apart but I can only see 3 runes at the spot near Dracula..Please help me...I know I must be missing something but don't know what to do to solve this very complex puzzle. Where do I push the runes?

Hi tomorchid, welcome to GameBoomers. I removed your duplicate thread with the same question.

From the companion guide:
If you stand in the antechamber with the castle exit directly behind you, then Li is the rune to your left and Ri is the rune to your right. Take a step forward and the rune to your left is Lii and the rune to the right is Rii. Take another step forward and they are Liii and Riii.

Hope that helps.

The dynamite can be found in Aliens from Mars. You'll need to beat the Space Battle game to earn it.

hey guys,
I completed all the films and done with all the souls and found staff.
And stuck at this point. I dunno what to do next. The only hotspot i found is the furnace. When i drag in staff it says "It will work, unless the staff has no sharp edges". I think it refers to the crystal head. But i don't have it.
Help Plz...........

Hi chrissagani,

Examine the staff in your inventory using the magnifying glass. There's something you have to click on it to proceed. You've seen Ferucil use this part of the staff a few times in flashbacks.

Good luck!

Hey stuck again in hell with the colour tiles.

I got the logic behind it. I mixed yellow and red and got orange and opened the orange trap. If the logic is correct, I should get green when i mix blue and yellow. But it don't match with the one which is already available.
And also if apply green, the green trap is not opening.
I cross checked more than 10 times. I noted down all correctly.
If I could solve this problem, I think I know how to get white as well.

Thanks, Chris!

Hi chrissagani, welcome to GameBoomers.

Sounds as though you're almost there.

From the guide:
You have to combine the blue and yellow symbols you've found, and then take that resulting symbol and combine it with green to make the final product green.

chris -- if the grid square is black, clicking a second time on that square should make it white again.

sky -- do you have the unknown gem from your time in Fuzzieville? Use that.

Ah, maybe pink? If you've not found the symbol for pink yet, here it is:

Code:
P P P P .
P . . P .
P . P P .

yeah! Once again great challenges ahead. A pile of skulls blinks eyes when clicked. No clue what to do with them. And color skulls with a clue from fortune teller. No clues here. Hmmmm........ I better try the color skull first. I kinda do trial and error. 12 more combinations to go............

I found the hint for the color skull. But it was too late. I cracked it already.

Atlast I cracked the game. It was good one. (except for that color tile puzzle) happydance

Other gems. The first can be found somewhere in the theater (look at the scrap of paper inside of the office safe for a clue as to where), and the others are given by each fuzzie after you answer a riddle.

u must get a sapphire from "the count". and give it to the fuzzie which accepts it. Each fuzzie will accept particular gem. So give right gem and they give riddle. answer them to get another gem.

tom, for the runes you should push in buttons Ri, Liii, Riii, and Additional Rune 1.

For the gem in Aliens from Mars, here's the procedure:
Go to the weapons system, examine the console and click "TARGET". The captain tells you that you don't have enough power.
Go to the rear side of the bridge, examine the computer display there and click on "REROUTE POWER". A computer voice informs you that you need an additional power crystal.
Place the unknown gem from inventory into the slot onscreen to give the ship some extra power.
After this, click "REROUTE POWER" again.

OK, try this before you push the target button:

On the left side of the bridge, along the exterior wall, you'll see a computer display with the message "INCOMING TRANSMISSION". Click on the message and watch what happens.

Wow, what a game...already need a hint or two or three...I am only at the tile puzzle but not exactly sure what to do. I know they can be rotated...so do I use all of them to completely fill in the square or only some areas need to be filled in??? Embarrassing to say the least...already stuck! Thanks.

Linda,

Is this the front door?
If so - you find a square that is correct.
Then find the next square that if you click on keeps the first tile still clicked.
If the second tile is wrong the first tile gets unclicked. woozy

If you chose wrong, a clue is given. A number appears and that clue shows you how many squares you are away from the correct first tile.

Do this until the puzzle is solved.

The hints for the tile puzzle in the men's room are the one you saw in the women's bathroom and the toilet paper in the mens.

Follow the those hints and what the fortune teller suggested - a square piece should go in the middle.
There are several solutions to this puzzle.

The first step is to walk through the films in the order in which they were made. The theater guide in your inventory reveals this order.

After that, you will end up in a similar room, but there are panels on the left and right sides of it. On the right side, you can input patterns.

I hope this helps! smile

You actually don't want to smash the crystal.

Hint: Maybe you should "re-introduce" the staff to its owner. smile

Okay, what you should do is:

- Put the crystal on the staff

- Go back to where you were standing when you first entered the room, so that you are standing right in front of Ferucil.

- Use the staff on him.

Note that you must be standing so that you are FACING Ferucil. If you do not have a hotspot on him, then you are behind him, not in front of him.

Good luck! smile

I am in Hell and trying to figure out puzzle with lots of colored skulls which have to go on a board. I think it has to do with mixing basic colors and get color combos. I could not find any clue to this puzzle and at my wits end..any help?

Rushes, i checked the link. it contains guidelines to solve the skull puzzle which is like minesweeper.
i need help with the colored skulls which come towards the end of the game in Hell. you have to place them on some board with connecting lines.

Ah, apologies -- wrong skull puzzle. smile

The puzzle you're working on now is a logic problem. You should find a scroll with clues on how to solve it if you go back to the area with the mound of skulls where you may already have solved the memory puzzle. Click on a rock to the left of the mound and you'll find the scroll.

My problem is in attempting to place the film in the projector.
{Have placed the device & solved the yellow tile puzzle.}

Is there a way to reset a puzzle?
ex: the roman numerals on the 3 arched doors in the Count's dungeon?

Hi kat,

I'm not sure if resetting is possible. If you back away completely from a puzzle, visit another area and return, and the puzzle is still as you left it -- then my guess would be no. smile

Rushes, do you mean a dead end as in that person had to start the game over? If so, that's a bug and I should look into it! It shouldn't be possible for the player to complete the Fuzzies film without first collecting the garlic. smile

What do you mean frozen? The game screen doesn't change or you don't know how to proceed?

Seems like it's in a Loop.
Screen doesn't change, no options for movement,
no inventory, etc.
Playing on my PC {Vista}, chatting on my Laptop.

Uh oh! Let's wait for Chris to come help us.

Have you saved close to where you are? Maybe rebooting might help or closing the game and going back to a saved game might jar it loose.

Eep! Yes, the game definitely froze. My first piece of advice would be to restart your computer and try again, saving right before you go to the screen that caused the game to freeze last time.

After saving, try again. It might have just been some kind of fluke. If it DOES happen again, though, then could you e-mail me your saved game so that I can take a look?

Thanks! smile

Just started again and looped in the exact same place,
this time I know I made an error in the sequence.
Freezes my whole computer, so can't promise a screen shot.
Will try for the saved game, but kinda 'blonde'.

PS~Chris, I'm getting some kind of error about Program Compatibility.

PSS~Save sent via e-mail.

Chris,
Here's the error message, sorry it's blurry.
Program compatibility assistant
After the umteenth time, I finally got past that part,
now I'm stuck @ the final puzzle.
Keep getting turned around trying to get back to Ferucil. crazy
Actually I now show 5 prisms & canes in my inventory...LOL

I can tell you each time I complete a task and head into a film short,
my screen goes light grey w/a white square @ top left
and a twirling "o".
really weird.

BTW~I'm running Win Vista 32 Bit.

Hi kat,

It sounds like your computer is mixing a Windows component (OCX file) that is causing that freezing, the multiple inventory items, and possibly the white square, as well.

The next time that error message pops up, click on the arrow next to "show details" and take a screenshot, so that I can see which file is missing.

The missing file is supposed to be installed with Windows, so there's a chance if it's missing that it could affect other games/programs, as well.

Hi linda,

You have to click the left and right buttons on the safe in a certain order to unlock it. There is a document somewhere in the detective's office that hints at the order. Good luck! smile

I've solved the first 5 puzzles and have the 5 shards, but Im just awful with slider puzzles. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can get the office slider shard?

Edit: sorry, I didnt mean to "hijack" this thread; I'm just not sure how to go about asking a question without starting a new thread...

kat, here are the directions you originally took from Ferucil to get the cane, so reverse these and hopefully you'll get there:

From Ferucil you walked forward, turned right, then forward, then left, then forward, then turned around and up the stairs to be in the area with the panel.

macmac, this is a sneaky slider puzzle which isn't really meant to be solved (although it can be if you're insane enough, according to the companion guide!). You'll see that there's a tiny little button on the right of the puzzle box. Click on that to open the box. Gaah!

Hi lumi, welcome to GameBoomers.

For the Fuzzies, you need to think "initially". wink

To open the chest in Count, you need to make a note of the text that was at the bottom of the rune puzzle, that will help you.

Just a quickie: do the movies need to be played in a certain order? I ask because some entries in this forum indicate that sometimes an object required in one movie is found in another movie.

macmac, the films can be played in any order. There is a possible glitch in Fuzzieville, though, with missing an item and being unable to return to that area later. Be sure to search the garden thoroughly and take all you can there, you'll be needing a critical item from it at some point!

lumi, good luck, let us know if you still have problems.

Have you seen the puzzle you must solve to pass this point?

Look up to see a message above the door. Then look down and turn right to face the puzzle.

Hi poli,

If you're experiencing any technical problems with the game I'd suggest posting over in our Glitches forum. I had a quick search there for any current issues, but didn't come up with anything.

Polipoliyu, I received your e-mail. The problem you are experiencing is not related to the game, but due to a Windows error on your system. Check this link to solve your problem: http://majorgeeks.com/faqshow.php?id=8 smile

Do you mean a save game, rather than a hint, seeing as your game freezes at this puzzle? I don't have any saves for this game, we'll have to wait for help here.

On the left side of the bridge, along the exterior wall, you'll see a computer display with the message "INCOMING TRANSMISSION". Click on the message and watch what happens.

It's a memory puzzle. Here's what the companion guide says:

A skull's eyes will temporarily light up, and you must click on that skull. The number of skulls that light up will increase once every time, and so you must use your memory to remember the correct order, essentially playing "follow the leader". There are a total of seven rounds in all.

luck

For the power grid puzzle, you need to connect all the labelled points respectively: A to A, B to B, etc. The companion guide has a pictorial solution, but I only have a paper copy so it isn't possible to post it here. Let's wait and see if anyone has a saved game to help you out.

Yes, it's possible. Did you find the scroll yet, which will give you the clues you need to solve the puzzle?

If not:
Click to reveal..
Head back outside and look at the mound of skulls again. Instead of clicking on the skulls, click on a rock to the left of them, you'll find that it's loose and there is a scroll underneath it.

Lumi, are you still experiencing a frozen game? If so, I'll need to know your operating system before I can explain how to send your saved game to me. E-mail me for instructions, so we don't take up space here. smile

There's a cheat for the mound of skulls puzzle. As you stand looking at it, move your cursor over the area at the right side of the screen, you'll see a small rock or somesuch. Click on that to bypass the puzzle.

lumi:

You can solve these two puzzles in any order.

The mound of skulls is a memory puzzle. You have to click on the skull whose eyes light up. Each time, another skull will be added. You have to follow the pattern, clicking on the skulls whose eyes light up in the same order that they do. There are 7 rounds before this puzzle is complete.

The colored skulls puzzle is a logic puzzle. It's definitely possible. You have to go step by step using the clues to figure out where the colors should be situated.

Once you solve these two puzzles, you'll be able to move on to the final area of the game. smile

polipoliyu,

You say colored skull. Then read Chris' post above yours.
Do each step mentioned in the puzzle.
- In step 1; place the names of the skulls in each of the circle.
Then from there start eliminating based on the clues. luck

Blue Orange Yellow
Green White Red
