Having been temporarily thwarted by Mass Effect's complicated (to me) interface, I'm now looking at DD II - Ego Draconis smile

I probably won't fare any better, knowing my limited capabilities, but was wondering if there is any kind of God Mode or Trainer available ??

I did a quick Google search and couldn't find a thing !! duh

It's just not my (RPG) Day !!!! lol

Hi Mad

I've found one, a trainer,here:

http://www.videogamer.com/pc/divinity_2_ego_draconis/cheats.html

There's also a demo out for this game. here it is:

http://news.bigdownload.com/2009/12/21/download-divinity-2-demo/

As you can see, the demo is about 2 GB (10 years ago, this was whole game...)

And I think you can save anywhere in the demo now?

Here's the official website:

http://www.divinity2.com/news.php

Hi Karsten smile

Thanks for the info thumbsup

And I've looked at that Trainer, via your link, but I think it's for the German version of the game.
[So would it do for my English version ??]
I've never used a Trainer before, either, so if I do find I need to use one I might be back asking for more help blush

A good thing is that I now have the game installed and patched and have started to play - and I do like the way it "works" - so I'm hoping I'll be able to progress grin

Cheers and thanks.

Mad grin

EDIT :
Just spotted your good wishes, looney4labs. thanks !! happydance

HI MAD smile

Via the forums at videogamer.com where I found the link, I've found this trainer for the fully patched game.

http://www.cheathappens.com/show_download.asp?id=26992

It seems to be for retail version of the game, I hope that is the version, you have?

Hi smile

Solved the Quick Save Key thing - I just had to make one myself.
[ How embarrassing !!!! blush ]

However, I do still need help, please.

I acquired a skill book and "used" it - which gave me a skill point to allocate.

But how do I allocate it ??

I've been trying to put it to "LockPick" but
nothing I've tried has worked !! woozy

[And I can't find anything that tells me how to allocate skill points in the manual, either.]

I'd very much appreciate assistance.

Thanks.

Mad yes
EDIT : Sorted it !! broccoli

Hi popcorneater smile

So far I'm happily enjoying myself grin

I am playing on the "easy" setting though and I can truthfully say I wouldn't be able to cope with any higher level of difficulty eek
[I'm a dreadful combat wimp at times.]

But I like the simple-ish interface and the interesting story and the graphics are really good too thumbsup

However, from what I've read, things might get too hot for me once I can "become" a dragon so that's something that's lurking nastily at the back of my mind ....

Cheers.

Mad laugh

EDIT :
Has anyone who played the game found a cure for when they've been poisoned ??
There are several locations where I can't progress purely because I get poisoned (especially by enemy archers) and I always end up dying.
If I could cure the poisoning I know full well I could win the fights !!
[None of the traders I've visited offer anything to counteract poison.]

No cure for poison, except food or health potion. So run away, or regain your health by any means.
I finally managed to finish this game. At the end, I found places to hide as a dragon and regenerate my health. Took me a while to clean that place, and enter the next area. The rest was easy, I could not believe I finally did it. Third attempt!!! On easy, for sure: I always play every game on easy, because I want to enjoy myself and not work to hard! So have faith; If I can do it, I am sure anybody can
Another good walkthrough: http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/952260-divinity-ii-ego-draconis/faqs/58701

Hi Jacline smile

Thanks for your reply and great to know you managed to finish the game bravo

I'm actually surviving poisonings much better since levelling up - both my stuff and my character - but now I'm struggling with "jumping" woozy

I've crossed the bridge and made it into the the first area of the Citadel Tower - where the shrine is - and am trying to jump up a series of platforms in order to reach the lever that will open the gate.

I managed the first one right away but can't seem to jump high enough to get to the second eek
[I've had no problems with jumping till this area but I'm really stuck here.]

Can you offer any advice ??

Cheers.

Mad grin

Mad, according to Gamespot:
Quote:
you go to the only bridge, and jump to the opening to the right. Afterwards, look up that opens the next section. when you are at the dragon heads they are actually pressure plates =-) . from above you can also jump down to unlock a teleporting well thing from the broken path.

Does that help at all, or is that the spot you are stuck trying to get to?

Hi looney4labs smile

I don't think I have reached the area described in the Gamespot walkthrough yet.
I am only at the first reachable section of the tower.

As far as I can determine, I have to get a gate open at this point before I can accomplish anything else and to do that I have to jump onto the 3 platfroms - each one higher than the previous one - and that's what I'm finding so difficult.

I've had no problems at all with jumping until now, which is why it's so strange.
So I'm hoping someone might come along with a "jumping" tip help

[BTW. I couldn't find a walkthrough for DD2 at Gamespot. How do you get to it ??]

Thanks mucho.

Mad grin

EDIT : I've done it !!!!
Tried from a million different angles and suddenly one of them was the right one
yay

How true !! laugh

I do have a question though ....

I am playing as a Warrior and recently elected to spend a skill point on "Fireball" because the manual says I can mix skills in any way I like - but I can't find out how to use it eek

Can anyone tell me, please ?

Mad, I don't have this game. Reading on the net led me to believe you might need to pause the game and change your shortcut?

I know we had some folks playing it though so hopefully someone more knowledgeable about it will be able to help. wave

Hmmmmmm still reading but finding nothing specific as to "how to." Someone mentioned remapping all your keys...I'd assume that would be in your interface option, but that is a pure guess.

Thanks, looney4labs, but remap all my keys ?? Not for me, I'm afraid.
I've only just got used to what they are NOW lol

Maybe I'll just have to manage without my "magic" skills then frown

There's astonishingly little help or info available for this game.
And I was really disappointed not to find help at Banshee as I particularly like the way they do things slapforehead

At the bottom of your screen, there is what is called in the DD2 booklet, a QuickSave slots 1 to 8
Hit pause (f) and right-click on one of the slots: a list appears, items or skills. Click on fireball and it appears on the chosen slot. Now when you need it, you hit the number of that chosen slot where your fireballs are and there you go. One enemy burning or whatever you need. Same for potions, your creature, any skill you use the most frequently etc.
I played as a battlemage, and my magic missile (level 12 at the end) on number 2 was... out of this world!!!

Someone here (thank you !!) told me about the forum at www.larian.com and by getting small doses of advice from some of the "cleverer than me" ones there, I've made loads of progress and am having a whale of a time.

My fingers are tightly crossed now - that I will be able to get even further with the game because I really LIKE it yes
