I moved your post back to your own thread.

Did you set up the flare correctly before attempting to light it with the match?

In inventory combine the scissors and the flare to get open flare.

Look close at the shredder on the floor right of the table that has Sylvie's bag.

Use the cheap plastic mask on the shredder. Open the shredder and take the pieces of cut up mask.

In inventory combine the pieces of cut up mask and the open flare.

Combine the flare with plastic elements with the empty champagne bottle to get bottle with flare.

Go to Saint-Germain: Exit through the door at right.

In inventory combine the broken oar with stick. Then combine them with the police tape to get fixed oar.

Enter the gondola. Place the bottle with flare on the oar holder on the side of the gondola.

Use the matches with bottle with flare.

Sorry guys, done all that, but don't have police tape in inventory and can't see how to get it in the walkthrough. Have I missed something? Thanks, Darkhallow

There's a trash can outside the building, to the left of the bench. Some discarded police tape is in it.

There's a smaller basin under the main washbasin in Sylvie's room. Use that on the faucet to get water. Then you'll need to find some soap before you can clean the scarf properly.

Sorry, back again. I've opened the 1st horizontal valve as given in the walkthrough, but the square floods when I do so: any idea where I'm going wrong? Thanks

That probably means another lever is misplaced somewhere. Compare the walkthrough screenshot against your game and see if any of your levers are out of place.

Did you speak to the Count about the safe, and did he give you the clue? Even though you may be entering the correct number you'll still need that dialogue trigger before the safe will open. Remember to press the # at the end.

Oh dear, back again. Can't get the airship floor hatch to open. I've completed the route chart OK and got the implements from the cabinet. Have I missed something? Thanks, Darkhallow

Is the Count with you in the airship, are you wanting to leave for Bimini Island or are you already there? After setting the route chart you should have pulled the lever to the left of the chart to launch the airship -- you then see a cut scene.

Sorry folks. I am now at the proportioner. I have spoken to the count and the Indian and I'm attempting to insert the fruit. (I have the correct amount). Every time though Sylvie says she needs the recipe. I've been back to both the count and the Indian, they won't talk; on returning to proportioner and fruit being inserted, I'm getting the above problem. Any ideas as to what I've missed would be very welcome. Thanks, Darkhallow.

Did you do this:
Review the clues for the fruits by going to the village edge at right. Look close at the pictures of the fruits painted on the rock wall.

See if by clicking on the pictures you can get Sylvie to comment. Then try speaking again with the native and the Count.
