Avira identified this as malware in a Big Fish download. Does anyone know what it is?

I have done a Google search and come up empty, as well as searching Avira's virus base.

I don't find it listed on the Avira site, which is a bit odd.

It's probably a false positive. You might want to ask the folks at Avira.

Also got the APPL/Agent with a different number when downloading a beta game from GameZebo. I e-mailed them to see what they can say about it.

Will try e-mailing Avira too.

Here's a ***Thread at the Avira forum*** dealing with the problem of APPL/Agent detection. Apparently to find out whether that particular file is harmful or not, you need to send it to them for analysis.

They've found a few APPL/Agent files which they say are viruses (check ***this list***) so maybe they're assuming all APPL/Agent files may be harmful unless proven otherwise.

Thanks Jenny100 for that link. I think I will assume Appl/Agent files are virus until some can prove otherwise too.

Haven't heard anything from anybody else yet and the one game I played worked fine for the most part. Since it was a beta game there were a few minor hiccups, but they weren't consistent.
