Carla, I would imagine your on 20Mb. Dont BT have monthly usage limits?
Kjos with 10Mbit the max download speed I get is around 1200KB/s (which is pretty much full speed). Not that the demo downloaded at full speed:-) I think it varied between 600 - 800.

mj2c, I don't get mine to download that fast. It all depends what site you download from. I downloaded Lost Horizon and all I could get 250 MB/s. That is slow. Just bought and downloaded it from Gamersgate. big game 4.02 GB. Download speed 450 KB/s. 3 hrs and 40 sec. Richard

I guess I am, and I haven't got any limits, I'm on BT high option though, I have to say that I never had a problem with them

Hopefully more and more games will be available that way as it is easier for developers to sell direct and avoid having to rely on marketing or rather non marketing for money as used to be the case. Certainly games like machinarium that might have been considered a bit wierd and not been able to get financial interest have gone it alone and we get to reap the benefits by getting a more varied type of game. As long as they are cheap enough I will happily buy downloads, as I used to buy hard copies then sell it worked out about £5.00 per game so I am looking to pay as close to that as possible so I can feed my habit!!

Very nice demo - love the settings and the art. Very glad to hear it gets harder to!
I though am wanting a disk. I pay for a LOL 3 MB connection and the most I get in 'real life' is a 0.97MB download speed. When I called to complain that I should only be paying the 1.5MB rate they changed it and amazingly my download speed was cut in half to 0.48MB. So back to paying the full amount. Ah the price to pay for living out in the country with no neighbors around and what a wonderful company I have to deal with as well, as they know they are the only provider in the area.
This demo downloaded at 178KBs and took an hour and seven minutes. At least I am not capped as some are but at this speed I could run 24x7 and have no reason to fear!
I hope Dave can grab a few of these if they ever make it to disk as I will be purchasing this game for sure in that format.
Congrats to all who were involved in creating this adventure for us to enjoy. Well made, well made indeed!
P.S. Can you come over and run our POS internet providers for us as well as you created this game?

I agree and for me that's saying a lot. Beautiful game and the voice acting is some of the best I've heard in a long time. The story seems pretty run of the mill, but sucking me in regardless, and for once I actually like the main character.
And it's only 20 bucks! First day buy for me.

Believe me, RNL, you don't have to live at the back end of nowhere. I get, best speed, 340 kbps with the DSL I have now from a major provider in a major US city, which they tell me is the best they're going to do for me.
Anyhow, I thoroughly enjoyed the demo for Lost Horizon...what great voice acting!...but like you, I'll wait for the disk version and I also hope Dave gets it. If you're reading Dave, just a little encouragement. <g>
Gil.

Which would translate to less than 13 quid which is indeed a good price. Unfortunately the price we (in UK) have to pay is £20:-(, unless anyone knows different:-)
