im in the state room for the 2nd time after getting the contents of the pouch but i cant seem to open the safe withthe special key..Nico just shrugs her shoulders when i use that key..i deciphered the second message and now im stuck.

I ran in to a problem and emailed Revolution about it. Long story short, I've decided to reinstall the game and replay the it up to the point where I hit a dead end and couldn't go on. (Only one other person has reported the same thing happening.) Anyway, as soon as I get to the point I "think" you're talking about, I'll let you know what I did if the DS version walkthrough doesn't work for you, stephen. Just to be sure, you've deciphered the second message and now you're trying to use a key in the underground room below the law courts, is that right?

Okay, stephen, I just opened the safe with the special key that has an image of a sword laid across scales on it according to Nico. So, let me ask you, did you try to open it on the hotspot in the middle of the safe or the one at the side? The right one is at the side.

traveler--- I tried opening the safe withthe hotspot on the side and all she does is turn around and shrug her shoulders.. and i used the key withthe scales on the bottom that was in the brown pouch..AND yes i did decipher the second coded message..

stephen, forgive me for asking but are you hitting the hotspot with the point of your cursor after the image of the key lights up? If you miss it by a bit, you might get that shrug. Otherwise, I can't think what the problem might be.

I'm in Syria right now, trapped in a cave with a corpse and can't get out! The villain is supposed to show up and he's not doing it so I know how you feel. At the moment, I'm replaying the whole game to try to get past that point since replaying from a save didn't help. You could see if replaying from a save gets you into that safe.

Reinstalling and replaying didn't help. I'm about to bite the bullet, dump the entire game and redownload it, then replay it. Uck! I wish I didn't want to go on so badly!
