I'm stuck quite early on in the game (just after visiting the mission and getting the photo) where I should either go back to the Raven Room (and Louis should be there) or I should go to the Museum and be able to ask about the Runes.

Neither option is available to me and I've tried going to all available locations, speaking to everybody, and offering them everything in my inventory.

I've looked at walkthroughs and replayed the game following them exactly but it's the same problem.

It's been ages since I played the game.

Based on the walkthrough; have you ---
- Go to Merylo and show him the photo (and tell him Winslow is an idiot). Return to Louie and show him photo. He want's to meet you in a safe place.
- Go back to the museum and collect the parchment that Helen managed to translate.

Hi MaG, thanks for the help.

Unfortunately, I've shown Merylo the photo to identify everyone but Louie is nowhere to be found. According to walkthroughs he should be at the Raven Room but he's not there. Every walkthrough I've read says this and I've definitely done everything else up to this point but he's not there!

So confused!

I vaguely remember that the parchment clue is very picky. Be sure that you exhaust all dialogue with Helen about it. Also examine it closely.

Also examine the photo closely if that is possible.

I examined the parchment when I found it then gave it to Helen when I gave her the Runes.
The only dialogue I have left with Helen is to look at the book of Coats of Arms again or look at the stained glass again (which I've already solved)

I've examined the photo too, and can't find anything in walkthroughs that I haven't done!

thanks Mad. I'm gonna replay it following these guides one at a time and see how I get on. Looking at them though, I still can't find a single thing I haven't done!

The game is picky in parts and as MaG so rightly says, this parchment area is one, but in all the times I've played the game (and got stuck) I was never unable to make it to the end

Just to put my 2 cents in, I have the original game, plus strategy guide. I played this a long time ago and thought it was one of the best games I've ever played (difficulties and all). Too bad they don't make them like that any more.
