Her Interactive seem to be having a problem in finding a balance with the more recent NDs. They're tending to fall into one of these three categories:
(a) Timed puzzles galore until you're screaming for mercy (Ransom), or
(b) Stuffed with puzzles but having a very weak storyline (Twister), or
(c) The story is halfway decent but the puzzles need more variety, are monotonous in some instances and/or extremely time-consuming in others. (Water's Edge)
Warnings at Waverly Academy is the strongest and most enjoyable of the recent games in the series, in my opinion. I still enjoy playing the Nancy Drews, and will continue to buy them, but they no longer excite me as they used to.
