Here I am again. I have read all the threads in the first Jekyll & Hyde and have memorized robbo's WT on how to destroy the 5 machines, but is there some timing trick to this? I am afraid I am going to break my keyboard as I have been pounding on it for 3 days. I have only been successful in destroying 1 machine and I can't keep quitting and losing my place. Can someone send a save for this portion?

One grateful Maverick

Hi maverick. Maybe I made the process look too complicated, and it isn't really.
I'll send you a save (there's actually 3 files).
I missed out a 'SAVE' in the WT, the one I can send fits in just after the words "Next, he is back in the mines and wants to explore the tunnels." in the WT.

If you want to have another go at beating the machines, I just did it and will explain which keys to press to do it:
Crouch down - using Ctrl - behind the tower and use the direction keys to adjust his position so the machine grabs the top of the tower. Next, press '1' to give him strength, and still holding the Ctrl key down, move him out to left or right, whichever way he's facing. Now let go of the Ctrl key to make him stand up. Turn him around so he is stood near the machine. You should see the 'hand' icon. Now just press Enter once and he will destroy the machine. Well, you've done it once so you've seen what happens.

Thanks again, robbo! I guess I just wasn't fast enough because Hyde would start to lose his power and the machine would pull away. This grandma really appreciates your help.

I'm just the same - I eventually lose patience with all that speed stuff, it's only a bit of stubborness made me carry on, and the fact that I enjoyed the puzzle parts of the game.

Well, I am in the cart going for a nice ride and when the hand appears, I hit enter and continue on. When I see the down arrow and use my keyboard accordingly, nothing happens. Whe it repeats, sometimes there is a down arrow and sometimes there isn't. Do I have a glitch and should I reload the Jekcyll and Hyde program?

I'm sorry to keep asking for help. Thanks, robbo, the save worked beautifully and your instructions were perfect.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Maverick

Well, its a mystery, I get the same problem, but I don't even get the down arrow icon, I just get the hand icon again and nothing happens. I tried reinstalling the game twice and playing it through from the start to the wagon ride part but it made no difference. I can only think saved games are getting corrupted or something, I'm baffled!
I'm sending you another save game, this time for the next bit after the ride. Well, you won't miss much, its just more of the same key-pressing, and you won't miss any other gameplay at all.

Thanks again robbo. This game wouldn't be the same without you. I would have quit for good a long time ago without your help. And from what I have read, lots of other Gamebooners appreciate your help.

I'll watch my email.

robbo, if you sent the save, I didn't receive it. I tried again and it still didn't work and now I am not always getting the hand sign.

I sent an email to bit-Composer but I doubt if I will hear back.

OK, I sent again, it didn't come up with any error messages. I'll just send another as back up, b4 bedtime.

maverick, if you read this (I'll email you anyway):
Try the wagon ride again. I just did, and realised that the keys don't seem to be registering in time for the action on screen. When you see the icon, try tapping the key lightly several times to make it regsiter. I just got through the sequence (3rd try, don't tell!) but it worked.
There are 3 'hand' actions to start with, then 3 'duck' actions, then 1 of each, and can't remember after that!

Robbo or does anyone have a save point for after the five rebots that he has to kill? I never see a hand icon and I followed your walkthrough several times! Thanks

Celtic, did you press '1' to make him stronger and did you stand close to the machine?
Anyway, I emailed your save game.
Cheers

Robbo, you have been a sanity saver in this Jekyll & Hyde game. Now another question - in the Dragon Wall puzzle, is there any particular sequence to the pairs? It definitely isn't A, B, C, etc. as Gamil pointed out in your WT. Once again I'm finding no logic. Help, please?

Thanks,

Maverick

We sorted this by email, but anyone reading this and wondering:
You press the lettered buttons shown on the diagram, then press 'A' again - thanks maverick for that last little bit!

PS, jolly good show, I seem to be a Settled Boomer now!

Hello everyone who is or has played this game,

I am at the point where Hyde jumps on the first rock in the lava river and everytime I try to jump just before the falls, the game crashes and I am stuck with a red screen.

Would someone be so kind as to send me a save for after this series?

Most appreciatively,

Maverick

Hope no one minds my coming in on this thread but i am either confused or dim (as usual) Can I take it that there are two versions---Jekyll and Hyde and Jekyll and Hyde 2010??-the WT's seem to bear no resemblance--regards -Petjo

We don't mind at all, petjo, nice to see you!
Yes there are 2 walkthroughs, one for a game from a few years ago and the most recent one which came out last year.

Thanks Robbo and Yes Petjo, we never mind questions. That is what we are here for, and Robbo's answer was 100% correct. He didn't tell you he wrote the current WT. wave

Hello all,
I have been trying to get past the axes for ages.

Maybe someone would send me a save after the
Minotaurs lair (path5 on Robbos Walkthro' )

Best wishes to all.
