Somebody help! I am stuck at the part with the Scorpions. I'm not fast enough to get the pails then get them out of inventory to cover the nasty little things before they kill him! Can anyone tell me what to do to get unstuck. Thanks.

Thanks, Ana.

Hi BNewman, welcome to GameBoomers. Here's a step-by-step for this section of the game, hope it helps you:

As soon as you can, pick up the bucket on the left and put it over the scorpion by your foot. Immediately grab the other bucket, and take a step towards the door. Grab Parkeys bag. Take the remaining bucket out of your inventory and go behind the checkerboard thing. Look down and place the bucket over the remaining scorpion. Don't forget to grab a wooden board that isn't far away before you leave this area.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.

Hi BNewman - Welcome! (Hope you found your thread after it got moved)

Just some quick extra advice for the creepy arachnids-

It matters which bucket you use on which scorpion, and it matters which way you turn. Accuracy is more critical than speed. Choose your movements correctly and deliberately, without really trying to hurry and you will have no problem. Here's a quote from another walkthrough that gives additional details:
Quote:

This scenario is not hard to do, providing you know what to do and what not to do.
Don't do any extra exploring.

Turn toward the buckets. Pick up the Large Bucket. (It's the one on the left.)
Look down at your feet. Use the bucket on the Scorpion to trap it. The timer momentarily stops.
Before you do anything else pick up the other bucket.
Turn right and go once toward the door.
Look down and take Parkey's Bag.
Before you move, get the small bucket out of inventory.
Step behind the right side of the checkerboard
Use the bucket to trap the other scorpion.
Before you move, look down and pick up the wooden board.
Turn toward the door and exit the room.

You are probably well past this point by now, I only put this here in case someone else has a similar hangup with the dreaded scorpions in the near future. smile

I'm so sorry, I never got back to you guys on this. I'm replaying the games now and realized I never told you that your advice did help. I got through it with the help you gave so thanks alot! I'm not the most experience gamer even now so your help is very welcomed. Also what other games can you suggest for me to try?

Great that you finished the game.

Have you played all 6 Sherlock Holmes series by frogwares?

If you don't mind some gore, BNewman, play The Awakened. Fabulous game.
