Hi all, I am looking at the trilogy package and wondering if the set is worth purchasing. I did read someof the blogs and a couple of reviews. One of the reviews commented that there were stalling problems when playing as a pc game. I know that this is an old series and would really like some input here. cheers, Alfoil.

Hi Alfoil. I asked that same question at Big Fish Games forum and was told that it is a good deal. I did buy it and have only started the first game. It is an older game with older graphics but I think it helps to add to the creepiness. I haven't played the other two, yet, but I'm happy. I didn't notice any stalling or problems when I played and I played on Windows 7 64 bit.

They look good. Are they third person point and click?

Thank you

The first 3 are first person and the the 4th is 3rd person. They are all point and click.

Society of the Serpent Moon. It's as great as the first three.

Thanka! I haven't seen it in stores. Where do I purchase it? I am only interested in the one that is in 3rd person.

gatsbygirl,

You can buy Society of the Serpent Moon **here**.

But you're really missing out if you don't play billy's earlier games, particularly Tomb of Zojir.

Traveler,

Thanks for the info. All of the games look really good but I usually have trouble playing 1st person games because they make me nauseous. There have been a few exceptions (Nancy Drew) but I am still reluctant to buy them. Do these games offer a trial? If so, I could try one and see how I do.

I think there is a demo for each of the games, gatsbygirl. I personally don't much like 1st person games either but billy's are an exception. You don't swing wildly panning around but progress more as you would in a slideshow and it works perfectly in Zojir especially because it puts a sort of deliberate, creepy pace to the game. Best I can explain it. <g> Much as I like Serpent Moon, I think Zojir is still my favorite.

Does anyone know how to order Tomb of Zojir separately, not part of the trilogy? I'm trying to put Tomb and Serpent Moon in my cart at the LHoD site and am unable to order that way.

You can't anymore. You have to get the trilogy which is only two dollars more.

There is free shipping from Billy that makes it pretty equal unless you get the used one from WRF.

traveler,

Do you know where I can play a demo? The sites I looked at didn't show them. Maybe I just missed them.

My copy of Society of the Serpent Moon game came a couple of days ago. Very fast shipping! I will start it as soon as I finish Puritas Cordis. Can't wait!

Thanks GreyFuss! I will check it out.

Well, doggone...I'm late to the show. I read all these posts and decided that I wanted the Trilogy. I had some reward points at Amazon and bought the disks. Other things were going on and I set them where I'd be sure to not forget about it. I have just now run across this boxed LODT. Lo'n'Behold, I managed to have totally forgotten about it. Guess what I'm installing !!?? Altho, I now have a win .81, so I'm hoping my win 7 games play.

Sure, they're going to play.
They'd better.
We'll storm Microsoft if they don't. grin

Tomb of Zojir is in that trilogy, isn't it?
You are going to love it, Marianne!
Well, I hope you are, anyway, because it's my favorite of the whole bunch.
Come back and tell us what you thought of the games, will you?

Gil.

I would like to add that I too had video problems with the Last Half of Darknes series. I was talking with William and he put me onto Cinepak for my video codeks. I installed Cinepak and updated my display drivers and those games ran fine. They were cool too. I may as well play them again. And also I have used cinepak from then on with no problems to date.

Is there a place to buy and download these games or are they disk only?

No, the newest (and the last game Billy made) was Society of the Serpent Moon, Richard.
Correction: the last adventure game.
