Thanks for the YouTube compliment. I actually saw the singer, Lea Salonga, live in that roll when I went to see Les Miserables in New York. Bragging alert - I sing, too, and we have very similar sounding voices.

I remember lots of books in the first AGON -- London. "In my book" -- that's my next guess. The library sounds like a good place to figure out the difference between abstruse and recondite.

As for back-and-forth -- isn't that true of just about every adventure game with a decent sized environment?

You've got it, boss. <g> Book = codex. Abstruse = mysterious. (Dang, I wish I had thought of 'recondite'!) And 'back and forth' refers to having to read the runes right to left and left to right.
