I have spent the last 2 days trying to get the mirror puzzled to work. I have downloaded both walkthroughs from here, but even with the diagrams for setting the tuning forks nothing is working.

This is the third time I've played the game and had no real trouble the previous times so it's not a glitch in the game, just a glitch in the player.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

Thanks Rushes, but I got that far without problems, it's the next step on which tuning fork goes in which hole. I've got the diagram for that but still cannot activate the mirrors.
I've listened to the sounds from the tuning forks tapped on the bar and tried installing them according to walkthrough without success.

I know I must be missing something but what?

Are you reversing the order (based on the sounds) for placing the 2 tuning forks in the Gold Plate/Device?

Jema, that was one of the things I wasn't doing. When I finally understood what the walkthrough was telling me, success at last! This is one of those puzzles that, to me at least, seems completely obscure.
