Thanks, Ana. The developer is Artifex Mundi, who also brought us Time Mysteries: Inheritance and Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek (the latter is one my favorites for 2011).

I haven't played this game yet but I've read good things about it. wave

Hi, Ana!

I bought the CE and it's an excellent game. The main game took me over 6 hours to play, so it's well worth the money.

Am I right the hints don't recharge. They are always active. Never saw a game that you can use the hints all the time.

Second? After Time Mysteries: Inheritance and Enigmatis it would be third.

I played another game that had constant hints.

Enigmatis isn't part of the Time Mysteries series; this Time Mysteries game is the second installment of the Time Mysteries series. Hopefully Enigmatis will get its own sequel next year. wave

Ah I got. I had already played the CE of this game, that's why I was confused.

I understand. It's getting to the point where I need to make a spreadsheet to keep track of all these games. grin

The best thing to do is post on the Collectors Edition thread so you remember your comments and if you tried it. It does get confusing.

Hi, Marian!

You're probably just joking, but I have a Microsoft Word file listing all the games I've purchased from BFG, and I check it if I download the demo of a game and it seems to be all too familiar smile .

Good going, Susan! grin thumbsup I was semi-kidding; I do know a few folks who keep track of their games this way, and it's really not a bad idea. smile

Ana's suggestion is a good one also. wave

I know this is off topic, but I have actually printed my purchased game list off of BF. I think it was 10 pages longshocked

Hi, Marian!

The reason I started to keep a list was, I tried to buy the same game twice because I forgot I had already played it about a year earlier blush ! Thankfully, BFG also keeps records and alerted me that I already owned it.

It is a very good idea as I bought both the CE and SE of a game when there was a sale because I thought I had just demo-ed the CE not purchased it - lol! headscratch There have been so many great games that I have to put some off for a while and thus the confusion. rah Also I have been buying from the developer when possible just to support them and then forget and start to buy the same game from BFG when they get it. think

Didn't I do the exact same thing this month. Purchased a SE whenn I already had the CE. Now I have to keep all my recent punchcard updates in one place so I can see what I bought at a glance, instaed of going to my history.

This is a terrific game. Can be a bit confusing at times. But there's plenty of help built into the game. Since there are so many time periods and places to explore, it's nice being able to "jump" from place to place. H*O scenes are challenging, but not frustrating.

For those who prefer CE's, I'd recommend you give this standard version a try if you haven't already played the CE. I think you'll agree that you definitely get your money's worth. And if you have punch card or game club credits, it's even better. smile

I bought the SE of Ancient Spectres on the Spooky sale and I have to say that this is one of the best games Big Fish has ever offered. I zip through most casual games because they don't hold my interest long or I get frustrated for one reason or another (like dreary or stupid) but this one is interesting, innovative, and a pleasure to get around in thanks to their 'time device' that acts as a map and a hint system. I'm really sorry I hadn't played it before voting because it would be right up there at the top of my list.

Not that I've finished it yet. I'm taking my time with this one.

Gil.

Sounds very good, Gil. I haven't played this one but I have played another game by Artifex Mundi; namely, Enigmatis: The Ghosts of Maple Creek, which was a really good game. I'll put this game on my must-play list. smile

Enigmatis is on my list of favorites, Marian. smile You're not going to be sorry if you play this one. It is miles better than most.

Just one thing. Their idea of a 'vulture' is very different from mine. <g>

Well, I've finished it...only it doesn't have an ending. That's a bummer. Cliffhangers were okay when I was ten and going to the 25 cent movies on Saturday afternoon but not so okay now. I will say, this is a very long SE. People who don't like HO scenes won't care for it, maybe, though the HOs are very well done and some of them are fairly hard despite the 'sonar' help. It was definitely worth the $4 on sale but just be warned that you aren't going to know if virtue triumphed.

Gil.

It sounds like they are leaving it open for a sequel, Gil; that could ultimately be good news, but not right now. Oh, well. wave
