first of all, mag or rushes, how do you go back to a previously saved game? all you seem to do with this game is go forward. robert.

From Inferno's review: using the ESC key twice will bring up the main menu for either loading, saving or quitting the program.

Press the ESC key 2 times then and see. luck

Hi robert,

You can scroll through the saves in the load screen. Click the arrow on the picture at bottom right.

hi mag. in his/her review of overclocked, inferno mentioned something about moving the 'resource.200' to the game folder to speed things up. what is resource.200, and exactly how do you do it? robert.

hi mag. to get back to OVERCLOCKED, i don't understand Nickie's w/t where you go from playing audio clips to the patient in cell 1 to 'flashback two', whereby you are walking down a hall stopped by a brick wall?? robert.

Robert,

I have not played the game but from reading the walkthrough:

Playback the audio recording Dave made the previous day, which will be listed in the PDA according to when it occurred, not when it was recorded by Dave ( here it would be 11/10, night, part one). Highlight the pertinent audio tape, and click on play, get the PDA off the screen by clicking on the round button, and click on the patient (same procedure throughout game).

So I presume, that you check the PDA and select the audio tape you want to play.

As for walking down the a hall - I presume that after the cutscene after playing the audio tape - you go to another cell.

Maybe a gamer that has played the game can verify this.

After the correct audio clip has been played to the patient, a short cut scene automatically takes place. Your character then switches to the patient's perspective, in an entirely different game location. So double check the audio clips you're playing, to be sure they're the right ones to trigger the flashback.

Is music playing on the radio now?

Did you receive and read the message from Moretti with the clue for this?

Have you spoken completely with Dr. Young?

I'm pretty sure you don't need the pendulum for this flashback -- once you have the radio correctly tuned, the flashback should start immediately. It should be tuned to 108 rather than 112, according to nickie's walkthrough. I think maybe you've missed an earlier action somewhere in this chapter. Double check reading Moretti's message again, perhaps?

hi rushes. i initially tuned the radio to 108 but it wasn't until i tuned to 112 i heard music. also i double-checked moretti's message, it seemed ok, and also spoke to dr. young in the cockpit. he was silent! i wonder what earlier action i can double-check? robert.

All I can suggest is going back to the beginning of Chapter 2 and replaying exactly by the walkthrough -- perhaps that will unstick the problem. This game is very pernickety with audio clips, and their being played in the right order.

hi rushes. i can't get back to chapter 2. this is not an easy program to return to replay a previously saved game. mag tried to explain something about pressing the ESCAPE key twice, but i did not understand her. perhaps you can explain differently so that i CAN understand. robert.

Did you try this, from my earlier suggestion:

You can scroll through the saves in the load screen. Click the arrow on the picture at bottom right.

No, the tick mark is to confirm once you've found the save you want to load.

I found the game manual, here's what it says to load a save. Be sure that you're at the game load screen, and that you see a bold arrow at the bottom of the polaroid graphic onscreen. Then:

Use the arrows to scroll through your saved games. Once you find the saved game you would like to load, click on the check mark to confirm and that game will automatically load.

There's only one game load screen, which you get to from Main Menu. The arrows should appear to the left of the tick mark. They appear on the image of the polaroid photograph. I don't know why they're not appearing for you? think

hi rushes. now i'm REALLY confused. i played around and found those arrows you speak of in the SAVE game portion! not 'load' as you said. what happens if i hit the tick mark on 'day 2 morning' in place of 'day 1 morning'?. robert.

Try this:

From main menu, click on Resume Game. Confirm the save that's already there and enter into the game. Then press the ESC key on your keyboard and you'll see a menu pop up. Click on Load Game, then *hopefully* you should see those arrows appear on the polaroid image, to the left of the tick mark. Then you can scroll through and select the save you want to go back to.

The interface for this particular game isn't very user-friendly, is it. frown

If the crash is happening in exactly the same spot, then it's a glitch that might need a save game to get past. Or you could post at Glitches for advice. I remember having a tough time with this game when I had a computer with a weaker graphics card, although my problem was with flickering graphics rather than crashes to desktop.

I can send you saves from this chapter if you would prefer? smile

If I understand the walkthrough correctly, the shaft is the ventilation shaft you came out of to enter the LAN room. luck

If you can access the game save folder; maybe delete some of the earlier saves and see if you can save again.

As for the ventilation grill-shaft - check the pictures from this German walkthrough and maybe you can deduce what to do. German Walkthrough

If these are not helpful, let's wait for help from a gamer that has played the game.
