Thanks, Ana. This is the second Grim Tales game from developer Elephant Games (Mystery Trackers: Raincliff, Urban Legends: The Maze). I'm reading that there are 3 levels of difficulty from which to choose and that the strategy guide consists of a total of 68 pages (6 chapters plus a bonus chapter).

The first Grim Tales game was Grim Tales: The Bride. wave

If you enjoyed the first you will certainly enjoy this one as well. It has some great puzzles as well.

I'm playing the demo of this game and can't get the screwdriver to work on the nameplate. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Are you zooming into the nameplate alone or zooming into the picture above it? Be sure you are fully zoomed into the nameplate.

I'll try again. Thanks.

Went back and can't get a close up of the nameplate. Just get message "statuettes are missing..." I guess this game is a no for me!

Hi, Laurette!

I ran into the same problem and discovered strictly by accident that if I clicked just below the name plate, I got a close-up. Give it a try, and good luck!

Thanks, Ana and Susan. Yes, you have to be in just the right spot for clicking in this part of the game. smile

Susie07: Tried clicking everywhere and never did get a close up. I guess I could start a new profile and try again, but as of now, am not sure I like the game enough. Thanks for your help, though!

Someone on the Big Fish forums said that she had to look at all the sparkled areas everywhere including the bedroom (and the bed headboard) before she could go back to the portrait so that the close-up of the plate would pop up and she could then use the screwdriver on it.

Just a thought. wave

Marian: You got it right. Went into all rooms and clicked on all sparkles, came back and close up appeared right away! Thanks.

Thanks to my GB friends, I decided to buy this one. Really glad I did. Have been playing for hours and still lots to explore. With the many "rooms" and objectives, it's nice to have the map and ability to jump from one location to another. A very well-designed game. Have to admit that I've skipped about half the puzzles/mini-games. But I think that anyone who enjoys puzzles/mini-games will love the variety in this game. Thanks again GB's for your recommendations.

It's a lot more fun playing them than it is writing out the solutions. rotfl Glad you are enjoying it!
