Hi, I have just started playing Alter Ego. Game is going well so far, with one exception.

When I clicked on the street light by the graveyard, the screen homes in on the gas valve. I wasn't able to do anything with the valve at that moment, as didn't have the required item. However, I was not able to escape from that screen. In the end I had to press Esc and then reload my latest save. Thankfully it was not much earlier so didn't have to redo much.

The same thing has happened again, but this time, I am now the Police Officer. Clicked on the safe, and again the screen homes in on the numbers and dial. Again I am not able to get out of this screen without pressing escape and reloading previous saved game.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so how did you get round it. Or am I being really thick and missing something obvious.

Did you try moving your mouse around the bottom and sides of the screen, to see if an exit arrow pops up. Just a thought. It's been a while since I've played it.
