There are worse things in life than death. If you're ever spent an evening with an insurance salesman, you know exactly what I mean.
Woody Allen
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A man who lived in a block of apartments thought it was raining and put his hand out the window to check. As he did so a glass eye fell into his hand. He looked up to see where it came from in time to see a young woman looking down.
"Is this yours?" he asked.
She said, "Yes, could you bring it up?" and the man agreed.
On arrival she was profuse in her thanks and offered the man a drink. As she was very attractive he agreed. Shortly afterwards she said, "I'm about to have dinner. There's plenty, would you like to join me?"
He readily accepted her offer and both enjoyed a lovely meal. As the evening was drawing to a close the lady said, "I've had a marvelous evening. Would you like to stay the night?"
The man hesitated then said, "Do you act like this with every man you meet?"
"No," she replied, "only those who catch my eye."
Donna arrived home from work early one day and found her husband, Glen, in bed with another woman. "That's it!" she shouted, "I'm leaving and I'm not coming back!"
"Wait honey," Glen pleaded, "Can't you at least let me explain?"
"Fine, let's hear your story," Donna replied.
"Well, I was driving home when I saw this poor young lady sitting at the side of the road, barefoot, torn clothes, covered in mud and sobbing," explained Glen.
"I immediately took pity on her and asked if she would like to get cleaned up. She got into the car and I brought her home. After she took a shower, I gave her a pair of the underwear that doesn't fit you anymore, the dress that I bought you last year that you never wore, the pair of shoes you bought but never used and even gave her some of the turkey you had in the refrigerator but didn't serve to me."
"Then," Glen continued, "I showed her to the door and she thanked me. As she was walking down the step, she turned around and asked me, 'Is there anything else your wife doesn't use anymore?'"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

An aged farmer and his wife were leaning against the edge of their pig-pen when the old woman wistfully recalled that the next week would mark their golden wedding anniversary.

"Let's have a party, Homer," she suggested. "Let's kill a pig."

The farmer scratched his grizzled head.

"Gee, Ethel," he finally answered, "I don't see why the pig should take the blame for something that happened fifty years ago."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Showing his friend around his his home, Jennings pointed out all of the collectibles he and his wife had acquired over their long years of marriage.
"The day before I die, I'd like to sell every piece we've got just to see how much it's all worth."
"Well," his friend replies, "since you couldn't possibly know the day before you were going to die, you'll never be able to sell!"
"And that's where you're wrong," the man smiled. "If I sell it, my wife would kill me!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After a few days, the Lord called to Adam and said, "It is time for you and Eve to begin the process of populating the earth so I want you to kiss her."

Adam answered, "Yes Lord, but what is a 'kiss?' "

So the Lord gave a brief description to Adam who took Eve by the hand and took her to a nearby bush.

A few minutes later, Adam emerged and said, "Thank you Lord, that was enjoyable."

And the Lord replied, "Yes Adam, I thought you might enjoy that and now I'd like you to caress Eve."

And Adam said, "What is a 'caress?'" So the Lord again gave Adam a brief description and Adam went behind the bush with Eve.

Quite a few minutes later, Adam returned, smiling, and said, "Lord, that was even better than the kiss."

And the Lord said, "You've done well Adam. And now I want you to make love to Eve."

And Adam asked, "What is 'make love' Lord?'"

So the Lord again gave Adam directions and Adam went again to Eve behind the bush, but this time he reappeared in two seconds.

And Adam said, "Lord, what is a 'headache?'"

"For Heaven's sake, Chris, why can't you talk to me once in a while?" Julie whined.

"What?" Chris replied.

"Look around!" Julie yelled, as she pointed around the room. "Look at all these books! You always have your head buried in a book! You don't even seem to know I'm alive!"

"I'm sorry, honey," Chris said.

"Sometimes I wish I were a book. Maybe then you'd at least look at me!" Julie exclaimed.

"Hmmmm," Chris mumbled, "that's not such a bad idea. Then I could take you to the library every few days and change you for something more interesting."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A student comes to a young professor's office. She glances down the hall, closes his door, kneels pleadingly.
"I would do anything to pass this exam."
She leans closer to him, flips back her hair, gazes meaningfully into his eyes.
"I mean.." she whispers, "..I would do ANYTHING!!"
He returns her gaze. "Anything??"
"Yes,.. Anything!" She says.
His voice turns to a whisper. "Would you.. study??"
Good morning and have a great day Joe, Ana, Karen, Haroula, Cailyn and all who come in after me! wave
Well, I'm off to my one and only day of work this week once again. Hoping the other company has an opening soon. The manager said I will be the first person he'll consider, so I'm just waiting until they add games or have an opening for some other reason, which hopefully will be soon.
Okay, have to run. Have a terrific day, everyone! winter
Overcast here, might rain, but it's fairly mild temp. Out of sweatshirts, into long sleeve T's.
Doing laundry, changing bedsheets, gonna go through them all today and weed out my least favorites. (After I find breakfast that is).
Bad news in Sorta's Neighborhood. The 'compound' that is owned by a huge extended family (who also owns 2 other houses across the street, one behind, and another which got foreclosed) and all of them had moved out....is now MOVING back in. Arrraaaghhh!
It was a big family fight that got them all going away. They rented out all the houses and the only ones who stayed were the 'Dad' who has dementia and scares the heck out of me when he drives, and the 'son' who was living in the garage of one of the houses.
So now, after attempting to rent out ROOMS in the compound house (they subdivided it like those stupid apartments) and having no luck, they are all moving back in! It's been so quiet on that side of me and now it will all start again. The yelling, the farm animals (illegally), the junk cars, the police daily. I can hardly wait. insane
So off to get food in tummy and start the weeding out of stuff for today's attack. Hope everyone has a safe and happy Sunday.
Super Sunday ya'll puppy
Hubby and I have had a quietish morning....as much as possible with one broke dog and 3 who aren't. Sir Skywalker has now taken to grabbing the dirty laundry on his way out the dog door. We find such interesting things in our backyard now!
Talked with daughter who was coming back from her spin class. Bravo for her. The only thing I"m going to spin today is tall tales.
Then some surfing for free Kindle books and apps followed by breakfast and all while listening to BookTv.
Not sure what we will do today....I know there is some football watching and I'll do the dishes but I think that is it. wave
Joe after the Pats scored a TD in the first minute I knew it was gonna be a trouncing. The Denver Broncos didn't stand a chance. I felt bad that they only got 10 points though. Tom Brady was magnificent.yay
I have to get back to work. I'm not looking forward to going out in that freezing weather though. Ah well, we still don't have any snow yet. Ana I'm hoping you're having a great time on the slopes. Bye all. wave See you when I get back.
