..... I never pay attention to the storyline in casual games. I skip the cut scenes and only read the journal for puzzle hints.
You would think I'd prefer just puzzle games, but they usually only come in one variety - like jigsaws, world mosaics or match 3 - and start off with levels so simple they are boring. I don't really like strategy games, so that limits the field.
When you think of it, there aren't that many good puzzle games with variety. Here's a list of some of my favorites:
Pandora's Box
Professor Layton games
Jewels of the Oracle 1 and 2
7th Guest and 11th Hour
Puzz 3D games (I wish they would remake those at GOG)
Entombed Enhanced (another good one to remake for newer computers)

Of the casual (BigFish games) I've played,, I liked Azada and Eden's Quest.

Any other suggestions for me?

Have you tried Pahelika Secret Legends and Pahelika Revolutions?

I tried the demo for Pahelika Secret Legends and wasn't interested for some reason. I'll try it again. Maybe I needed to give it more time.
I just read a few reviews, and I remembered I didn't like the sparkles that showed you where to look.

Providing you like slider puzzles, I've heard good things about Rooms: The Main Building over the years. It sounds pretty difficult, too. wave

Yes, I really liked that one too.
Puzzle Bots and Tiny Bang Story were also good.

My favorites for puzzles is Rooms and also Safecracker. MaG has an excellent walkthrough of Safecrakers where she just gives you a hint as to what to do. I think she also gives you the solutions at the end of the walkthrough. I have played a few times and I've been trying to find it on my computer just recently because it's time for another go.

Both Safecracker 1 and 2 are excellent puzzle games. They actually remind me of another rare, but good game called Cassandra Galleries.

I wish they would get Puzz-3D on GOG also.

Me too - I used to love Puzz-3D!

Is there nowhere we can download this from?

Not that I'm aware of. As far as I know, if you want to play these games, check out eBay. You'd probably need to have an older computer around too, although I don't know this for sure. wave

Actually, I think I have at least one of them on a CD here somewhere - I might try to play it on my Win7

Let me know how you get on. I think the jigsaw part might be ok, but the Adventure part (the videos once you enter your construction) may be Quicktime. I recall having an issue with it even with a contemporary computer.

And if I remember, different entries in the series require different versions of QuickTime. Yuck.

Really would like to see GOG find a way to bring the Puzz3D games up to spec with newer systems.

I remember Pandora's Box. That was a fun game. I'll have to dig it out and play again!

The best way to play the Puzz-3D games is inside VirtualPC (or VMware) with either a fresh install of Windows 95/98 or at least with one that's never had any version of QuickTime installed that was newer than what the game uses. If I remember right, the last one (Lamplight Manor) worked with QT4 even though it shipped with QT5. I think they all work with QT4 though the 1st one (Notre Dame Cathedral) may have shipped with QT3.
