Thanks Jema: I think that it should be more a case of "assume that punctuation is there to mislead!" smile

Would never have got these 2 without the 1st-last letters,
h-----s (watches plural) and c-----e

Looked up "score" and COMPOSE appears!:
21. Music .
a. to orchestrate.
b. to write out in score.
c. to compose the music for (a movie, play, television show, etc.)
New "definition" of score for me.
(though I fail to see how "knock up" = compose.)

Other one is quite devious; I'll re-clue:
(give someone else an opportunity to swear!)
Watches "Ladies' Circle" until 1:50 exit (7)
Learned a new definition here too!

Denis, "knock up" sounds sporting (as in tennis) and is therefore quite good misdirection, basically meaning create/concoct (often in cooking or clothes-making), hence compose.

A musical score is quite a well known term for a written mucical composition as well as being a related verb.

Thank you for the other re-clue, and glad to see that these have tested your mettle!
