I have always been a huge admirer of my own work. I'm one of the funniest and most entertaining writers I know.
Mel Brooks
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A dentist ran out of anaesthetic just before the last extraction for the day was scheduled.
He gave the nurse a very large needle, instructing her to jab it hard into the patient's butt when the signal was given, so it would take his attention away from the tooth extraction.
It all happened in an instant.
The nurse, patient, and pliers were in place. The signal was given, and the nurse bayoneted the patient with the needle just as the dentist yanked the tooth.
Afterwards, the dentist asked, "Hurt much?"
The patient hesitated, "Didn't hardly feel it come out. And, man, those roots were really deep!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Two women were sitting in the doctor's waiting room comparing notes on their
various disorders.

"I want a baby more than anything in the world," said the first, "But I guess it is impossible."

"I used to feel just the same way," said the second. "But then everything changed. That's why I'm here. I'm going to have a baby in three months."

"You must tell me what you did."

"I went to a faith healer."

"But I've tried that. My husband and I
went to one for nearly a year and it didn't help a bit."

The other woman smiled and whispered, "Try going alone, next time, dearie."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A man goes to the doctor with a long history of migraine headaches. When the doctor does his history and physical, he discovers that his poor patient has had practically every therapy known to man for his migraines and STILL no improvement.
"Listen," says the Doc, "I have migraines too, and the advice I'm going to give you isn't really anything I learned in medical school, but it's advice that I've gotten from my own experience. When I have a migraine, I go home, get in a nice hot bathtub, and soak for a while. Then I have my wife sponge me off with the hottest water I can stand, especially around the forehead. This helps a little. Then I get out of the tub, take her into the bedroom, and even if my head is killing me, I force myself to have sex with her. Almost always, the headache is immediately gone. Now, give it a try, and come back and see me in six weeks."
Six weeks later, the patient returns with a big grin.
"Doc! I took your advice and it works! It REALLY WORKS! I've had migraines for 17 years and this is the FIRST time anyone has ever helped me!"
"Well," says the physician, "I'm glad I could help."
"By the way, Doc," the patient adds, "you have a REALLY nice house."
~~~~~~~~~~

A man is strolling past the mental hospital and suddenly remembers an important meeting.

Unfortunately, his watch has stopped, and he cannot tell if he is late or not. Then, he notices a patient similarly strolling about within the hospital fence.

Calling out to the patient, the man says, "Pardon me, sir, but do you have the time?"

The patient calls back, "One moment!" and throws himself upon the ground, pulling out a short stick as he does. He pushes the stick into the ground, and, pulling out a carpenter's level, assures himself that the stick is vertical.

With a compass, the patient locates north and with a steel ruler, measures the precise length of the shadow cast by the stick.

Withdrawing a slide rule from his pocket, the patient calculates rapidly, then swiftly packs up all his tools and turns back to the pedestrian, saying, "It is now precisely 3:29 pm, provided today is August 16th, which I believe it is."

The man can't help but be impressed by this demonstration, and sets his watch accordingly.

Before he leaves, he says to the patient, "That was really quite remarkable, but tell me, what do you do on a cloudy day, or at night, when the stick casts no shadow?" The patient holds up his wrist and says, "I don't know. I suppose I'd just look at my watch."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A man who had been in a mental home for some years finally seemed to have improved to the point where it was thought he might be released.
The head of the institution, in a fit of commendable caution, decided, however, to interview him first.
"Tell me," said he, "if we release you, as we are considering doing, what do you intend to do with your life?'
The inmate said, "It would be wonderful to get back to real life and if I do, I will certainly refrain from making my former mistake. I was a nuclear physicist, you know, and it was the stress of my work in weapons research that helped put me here. If I am released, I shall confine myself to work in pure theory, where I trust the situation will be less difficult and stressful."
"Marvelous," said the head of the institution.
"Or else," ruminated the inmate. "I might teach. There is something to be said for spending one's life in bringing up a new generation of scientists."
"Absolutely," said the head.
"Then again, I might write. There is considerable need for books on science for the general public. Or I might even write a novel based on my experiences in this fine institution."
"An interesting possibility," said the head.
"And finally, if none of these things appeals to me, I can always continue to be a teakettle."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A married couple went to he hospital to have their baby delivered. Upon their arrival, the doctor said he had invented a new machine that would transfer a portion of the mother's labour pain to the father.

He asked if they were willing to try it out. They were both very much in favour of it. The doctor set the pain transfer dial to 10% for starters, explaining that even 10% was probably more pain than the father had ever experienced before.

But as the labour progressed, the husband felt fine and asked the doctor to go ahead and bump it up a notch. The doctor then adjusted the machine to 20% pain transfer. The husband was still feeling fine.

The doctor checked the husband's blood pressure and was amazed at how well he was doing. At this point they decided to try for 50%.

The husband continued to feel quite well. Since it was obviously helping out his wife considerably, the husband encouraged the doctor to transfer ALL the pain to him.

The wife delivered a healthy baby with virtually no pain.

She and her husband were ecstatic.

When they got home, the mailman was lying dead on their porch.

Good morning everyboomie.

Come one come all.

Join the fun we'll have a ball.

Or perhaps like a stack of balls we'll all fall, and bounce together down the hall.

Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song, , play you a tune , blow up a baloon

Time stands still for no man or wo-man .

So make the best of it while you can.

Have a happy day everyone, but keep it clean, ok?

Today is supposed to rain so I am not sure what today will bring other than my morning workout.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.

No rain today. Outdoorsies are happy except that one of the little raccoons (not so little anymore) has wandered back again. Been here 2 nights, eating and clunking and eating and digging, and eating...You get the picture. Hope he/she goes away soon. It dislodged the water dish again so the water was dripping on the ground. Phoooo.

Apartment neighbors who have that pit bull puppy (probably weighs about 30-40lbs now) has taken to putting it outside behind the building a few times each night. It barks and barks. Very annoying. It's just a matter of time until someone gets hurt over there. I'm praying nobody does, but it's inevitable. The dog drags the walker and a full grown man barely can hold on to the leash.

Brought 3 laundry baskets full of curtains and like stuff into the house from the shed. Was going to sort and put it all in my empty plastic tubs, but got sidetracked and ended up sweeping the deck and sidewalks. Now I'm tired. Time to eat something and then tackle the organization. thumbsup

Sorry to be absentee all day. I got out early today because we were much warmer than yesterday. I had a great day out walking around, but it was very windy, and then back in the hoouse and kinda napping and watching football. duh

Then connection problems. Not that I need nasty weather to have trouble getting here, but we are overcast and extremely windy still, and I'm having trouble connecting with anything. rolleyes

Congratulations Midge on the Patriots win! thumbsup

It sounds like you had a delightful relaxing day. yay

I took a 3 and half mile walk in the snow that was brutal. It was 21 dehrees when I went and it starting lightly sleeting with 25 mph gusts it really made it nasty walking. I was miserable bit my dogs were happy.

Hi guys. I just got home from work and thought I'd check in. rah The PATS won but only because the kicker missed the goal wide . If he had made it through the goal posts the game would have gone into overtime. So the Pats won on the mistake by the other team. Oh well, I'm not complaining. We're going to the Super Bowl! rah

Ana you still amaze me my dear. I hope your Puppies realize just how great you really are. hearts

It doesn't really matter to me who wins. I've been reading while hubby has been watching. Occasionally I look up and go "Was that our team that just did something good?"

Son was watching with hubby but the dogs were bothering him so he went to his room to watch. The dogs bother him and the kids bother me for the same reasons the dogs bother him, so we are even rotfl but he doesn't see it that way.

But I think I'm heading for bed. I have lots to do tomorrow.

Ana, you're a beast! praise You are amazing!

Well, here's what Hubby wanted; he wanted the Ravens to win and the 49ers to win. Apparently, the coaches of these teams are brothers. Pretty cool, eh?

So.
