This looks like an older game BFG has just decided to trot out, which I say because the graphics are very grainy on my widescreen monitor though Asylum Conspiracy was fine. Because they are so grainy it doesn't look particularly good and it's difficult for me to find some of the items, so not a buy even if it had been an SE.

I tried that, Marian. On full screen, what I got was not a game with black bars at the side - those never bother me - but an entire smaller screen I'd guess was about 800 x 600. Now, I can live with that if it's a classic game that doesn't get any bigger but, nope, not a recent casual.

Hi, Gil!
I just finished the demo and had the same problem. The graphics in all of the other games I've played by this developer were excellent, so I don't understand why there's a problem with this one.

Susan,
I think it is an older game that's just now being released. I'm sure the developer wouldn't go backward...at least, I hope not. They're probably just better at graphics, or making them for wider screens, now.
kjos,
My monitor is 1600x900. Pretty wide. It may be a great game but I really can't see many of the objects you're supposed to find because of the graphics' grainy quality on my monitor. I'm going, "Oh, that was a seashell?" when I hit the Hint button and it circles the thing for me. Didn't look like a seashell (or whatever) to me.

This is going to sound SO elitist, Sparkle, but I honestly can't be bothered to mess around with screen resolution for a casual game demo unless, maybe, everyone's raving about it. Bad me. Gil.

Hi, Gil!
My screen resolution is 1920x1020, which is the recommended setting. I guess it's possible this is an older game and could have been developed before "Asylum Conspiracy" and "Curse of the Opera", but I don't understand why the developer would wait so long to release it since this game takes place after "Asylum Conspiracy" and that was released in July of 2010. Of course, "Asylum Conspiracy" was a prequel to "Curse of the Opera" but was released over six months later. Very strange!

Hey, Susan, Well, I imagine BFG is hard put to find a new game every day sometimes so they see what the developers have on offer. It's the only way I can imagine explaining the awful Silent Evil: Kate's Rescue. Gil.

Sorry everybody is having trouble running the game. This is one of the better games I've played. Hints recharge so fast just blink and it's ready to go. Been playing for 5 hrs and haven't started the bonus yet. Not to many HO. Your not penalized for random clicking. Great graphics. Richard

This is going to sound SO elitist, Sparkle, but I honestly can't be bothered to mess around with screen resolution for a casual game demo unless, maybe, everyone's raving about it. Bad me. Gil. To each his own. But adjusting the screen resolution is not that complicated and should only take a few minutes. I would have missed out on at least two really good games recently if I hadn't contacted BFG and found out that simply adjusting my screen resolution would solve the problem I was having. As is often the case, it was a matter of trying to conform the game to work on a variety of monitors. Of course, this might not be the solution for your particular issue anyway.

I beta tested this game not very long ago. I don't think it';s an old game. It's a good game and it's running perfectly well for me on Win 7.

Richard, I have a widescreen as well and use the same setting as you because it plays the games the best. Ana

I too found this to be grainy, even after adjusting the settings. To bad because I like these games, and I played all of the others.
