Has anyone had a problem changing your email address for accounts with The Adventure Shop and Big Fish?
GOG, Macgame Store and Amazon were easy to change but Big Fish and The Adventure Shop won't register my new address.
I would hate to lose my games. Any tip would be helpful.

Big Fish has these instructions:
Quote:
How do I change my account email address or password?

A:
Follow the steps below to sign in to your Big Fish Games account and edit your account information. Afterward, you'll be able to view your Purchase History, redeem credits, and install your games.

1.Sign in by entering your Big Fish Games account email address and password.

2.Go to the My Account > Account Info page.

3.Click the Edit button under the Email Address or Password section.

4.After entering a new email address or password, click the Save button to save your changes.

5.When you receive your new verification email, click on the link to validate the updated email address.

Even if the email address you previously used when signing in to Big Fish Games is no longer valid or you no longer use it for your email service, you can go ahead and sign in to Big Fish Games with that address again. Once signed in, you'll be able to switch to a more current email address.

If those don't work, you should probably contact Big Fish about your change of address.

I can't find that kind of info for Adventure Shop, so you should probably just contact them directly. They have a contact page here

Thanks Jenny100 for your reply.
I had followed all the steps you outlined and contacted Big Fish who said the problem was solved. But my old address is still listed on my account page and BF emails are still coming to my old address.
Big Fish is the most customer friendly game site out there and I'm sure they will eventually solve the problem, but when I ran into the same problem with The Adventure Shop I began to really worry. I haven't heard back from them yet.
Usually, when I run into a problem, it's some dumb thing I missed or didn't enter properly but I think I followed all the instructions this time. I had around thirty sites to update and
all but these two were routine.
My question has received enough hits without replies to make me think this snafu rarely happens. Thank you again.

I don't think the problem is because of something you did. I'm not sure why Big Fish thinks the problem is solved, but keep after them until it is. You can try sending them links to screenshots of what you see when you log in, showing the old email address. If you have Vista or Windows 7 you can use the Windows Snipping Tool to copy just the relevant portions of your screen so you don't have a huge upload of your entire screenshot. Instructions for the Snipping Tool are ***here***:

As for AdventureShop, Marita is better than I am at contacting them. Their spam blocker seems to catch my emails to them. That might be what's happening to your emails.

Thanks for this new advise. I use a Mac OS X for Big Fish and can use Grab if my explanations fail at BF.
A few months ago I installed Windows XP on boot camp and then downloaded catchup adventure games from a few sites including The Adventure Shop.
I've been in game heaven playing all the games my, old 2003, upgraded to the max Dell couldn't handle. I never realized that an email address is the only access to those games.
I really appreciate your encouragement and your ideas to fix the problem.

Hurray! Fionn at The Adventure Shop updated my address right away after sending some proof of purchase to verify my account and Chris at Big Fish spent a few days of back and forth but also got it corrected.
After also having problems with Firefox and Apple mailbox I found that the latest Mac OS X security update is causing some problems with assorted web sites and with some applications. So that might have been the culprit all along. laugh

I've heard that this recent Mac security update is causing a lot of problems with software applications too.
