Yeah, I'm becoming hopeless.
I like suspense/murder mystery and have played all of Art of Murder series, Scratches, Post Mortem, Still Life I & II, and Dracula:Origin.
I don't mind horror as long as there's a good story and suspense with it. I can't do FPS because I die fast and often.
What do you guys suggest?

to Gameboomers BabaLa. First off, tell us which Windows you are using? XP, Win 7, Win 98? Yes, there are some around here and I still have mine. Works great too. Anyway, this will help us tell you which games you can play. Bets

Win 7, so I can do most adventure games, plus an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M graphics card.
I've done Mystery of the Mummy, but really want to play Testament of Sherlock Holmes when it's available.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I'm going to try The Lost Crown first, but I'm up for other suggestions.

Have you played the other Sherlock Holmes games like Nemesis (SH vs. Arsene Lupin) or The Awakened? I would ask about The Silver Earring but that has a horrible action sequence in it.
Have you played any of The Last Half of Darkness games? I particularly like The Tomb of Zojir, myself, and Society of the Serpent Moon. They're horror but not horrible, more creepy and atmospheric.
And before I forget, Black Mirror 2. Very good game. In my opinion, the best of the three.

Try looking over Andrew Plotkins review list--anything on there is worthwhile(unless of course he trashes it): eblong.com/zarf/gamerev

to Gameboomers BabaLa. Well, everyone already beat me to The Lost Crown recommendation, which perfectly fits your criteria. Glad you're going to start with that one. The Black Mirror series may also be something you would enjoy. I would start with the first before the second because I actually played the second game first and felt I was missing quite a bit. After experiencing the story of the first, I appreciated the second game much more, as the locations I was visiting and characters I was meeting carried a lot more meaning. And the third completed the trilogy nicely. I favored the first overall, but they were all good. If you don't mind older games from the 90's and haven't played them yet, I strongly recommend the Gabriel Knight games, which are some of the best games I've ever played. You can find the entire series at http://www.gog.com/. And Jane Jensen, the writer of the GK games, came out with a new game, Gray Matter, recently, which was also excellent. EDIT: Hm, I checked out Andrew Plotkins's list, and he pretty much hated (or at the very least was luke warm toward) every game I loved. Seems like he doesn't like third person dialogue based games and finds them a chore. Not recommended unless you're strictly a first person fan.

Thanks a million for all the great recs!
Third person dialogue games don't bother me very much. As long as the story is good, and it keeps me interested, I'll play it.
I think the first "old game" I ever played was Zork: Grand Inquisitor. It came with my new computer and I thought it was hilarious.
I'm dying to play Testament of Sherlock Holmes when it comes out. Is there any one of the older ones you recommend over the others?
I have Black Mirror I and Grey Matter, but didn't complete either. The first was glitchy, the second didn't grab me, so I asked ya'll for recs.

Hi BabaLa, For the Frogwares Sherlock Holmes series, they are all quite different in tone. SH vs Arsene Lupin (aka Nemesis) is the most challenging and puzzley, but with a light feel and humour. The Awakened is quite dark in its theme, and the storyline is gripping. SH vs Jack the Ripper is my own personal favourite -- the environments are fantastic, and the theory as to who JTR was, is very credible. The puzzles for this one are easy, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Silver Earring is also wonderful, but as traveler says, it has a few offputting timed sections. Otherwise, it's a cracker too.

Babala, the first Darkfall Game: TheJournal was good. Not sure if it will play on newer PC though. One of my favorites.

I'm playing The Lost Crown now and loving it. It's just intuitive enough that I haven't touched the WT, n00b that I am, but challenging enough to hold interest. I hear it goes on for days.
Thank you for the other recs too!
BTW other games I've done are Syberia I & II, Paradise, and Sinking Island.

Took me six weeks to finish it! But then, I'm slow.
