Becky, your hint is horrible! :-)
Click to reveal..

I didn't want to look, but I am stuck, so I looked, and I have no idea what that means. Perfection? Ying and Yang or something like that? I need to find matching doors somehow?

It's strange... first time I answered the questions, he said I answered perfectly, and said something about looking for the hidden...
then, I could never again accomplish perfect answers, but "satisfying" (although I think I answered them exactly the same! I just said what I though, Selfishness is the root of all evil, Fools know only one way, life's an accident, can't prove existence and living a happy, content life! :-)

Hmmm... wanna give me another little push?

Until Becky comes along, did you know that there is a walkthrough for the game here?

It sounds like an interesting game. wave

Hi Tomer --

I wanted to make it a very soft hint because I know you don't like spoilers!

I guess it was too soft. lol

Click to reveal..
The hint wasn't about the riddles, it was about the markings over the doors. The location itself appears to be in India.

If you download the official Strategy Guide, (scroll down the page to see the Strategy Guide link) it explains what they are looking for in the riddles.

These riddles, like most of the others I've encountered in adventure games, are VERY difficult puzzles because words are such cheats and illusions. grin What the riddle writer sees in words is often very different from what I see in words.

Riddles attempt to obfuscate, and sometimes they do a better job that the riddler is thinking they are doing.

At least it's not too easy, right?

EDIT: -- the Strategy Guide has some background story information at the beginning. The walkthrough part begins on page 10.

If you like, I can post the riddle challenge answers here in a spoiler if you'd rather not look yourself.

No, I don't want a walkthrough, but I would appreciate a hint that would take me forwards :-)
I just don't know what to make of it... and since I've tried all doors already, desperate me, I can only assume it's about guessing the correct sequence, or finding a hidden entrance... either way... I wouldn't know how Indians would analyze their hints, but to me they mean nothing :-)

It sure was a great game I finished it a while back and couldn't have done it without looking at the WT every once in a while. One of the hardest games I have ever played.

Tomer, I just started playing so I am not that far yet to give you a hint. Hopefully someone that has will be able to help you soon.

The numbers above the doors, from what I can tell, are
Click to reveal..
in sanskrit.

I didn't figure this out on my own -- I got through the door by sheer luck, and then later on looked back at the strategy guide. Here's how the strategy guide numbers the doors:

Click to reveal..
Door no. 8, The last door. The Top Row, Rightmost.
Door no. 1, The first door. Bottom
Row, Left most.
Door no. 2 Bottom Row, Second From Left.
Door No. 4, The Bottom Row, Rightmost. The number of the door is hidden.

If that's not enough help, I can tell you that

Click to reveal..
You aren't looking for a sequence, you're looking for just one door, and that door is related to the response of the last head who talks right before you have to choose a door.

If that's not enough, let me know and I'll post what the strategy guide says under another spoiler tag.

Thanks a lot Becky.
Even after reading your three hints, I wasn't able to solve it without guessing the doors - and I tried that only because you said it's not about a sequence.

I still don't get it.
The head said "it's not perfection, but completion you must seek", so I tried googeling Sanskrit completion, I tried "8", I tried 5, I tried 7, and eventually the last door I tried was "1" and it worked... lol.
That's not Rhem, my dear :-)

Thanks again!

Glad you got through! I agree that riddles often can be interpreted any which way. I haven't encountered any more riddles in this game (that I can recall).

According to the strategy guide, the riddle you got says
Click to reveal..
that it's not completion, but perfection that you should seek. Their interpretation of that into a number is that -Perfection equals number one.

Well, I would sum it up as a very bad puzzle smile
Right now, I'm stuck at the library,

I'm playing Pahelika Revelations and really love the game but am stuck. There is a story in a journal which I believe should match a tile puzzle I am working on. Question is should the tiles match the journal as written or the logic of the story in the journal? Hope I am explaining this right. Thanks Becky this is a great game!!!

Hi Rockinjranch, have you checked the strategy guide here?

I am not that far yet in the game so I am not sure.
